I discovered Visual Effects Salon & Spa while searching for salons offering Olaplex service (amazing product to restore hair health during color processing)..... I love how organized their website is- easy to read info about their stylists, services offered and basic pricing guidelines! The salon is very clean and offers a relaxed yet upbeat atmosphere. Beverages offered to guests as well as available in the waiting area. Everyone is super friendly- Nothing but smiles! Jill Tovar, known as BoiseBalayGirl, is phenomenal! I have been searching for a stylist for over 15 years- someone to listen to what I wanted, ensure we understood each other, and create gorgeous hair. Miss Tovar is not your everyday stylist- she is a HAIR ARTIST! It is clear, she loves what she does and has vast knowledge! I am stoked to FINALLY have a go-to hairstylist/artist! This was my first appointment at Visual Effect Salon and Spa. I had a massage with Deanne. She did a fantastic job and I am looking forward to another one soon! The Salon is very clean, has upscale décor and the overall ambiance is delightful. I was impressed with the wide variety of services that they have to offer which include hair, nail, spa, teeth whitening, laser treatments, micro-needling, and permanent makeup. The owner, Rachelle Moore, is excellent in micro-needling and permanent make up. She offers a course in Permanent Cosmetic Training and Certification. The product line is phenomenal. Read Less

Love love love visual effects. I go there for all my services. Hair (cut and color), permanent make up, laser hair removal, nails, spray tan, massages, and even treatments on my stretch marks!! I see Rachelle Moore and Katie Rodriguez for most of my services and would recommend them to anyone. BUT on occasion I have seen other ladies and have never been disappointed! I absolutely love this salon. The staff is always friendly and knows me by name every time I walk in. I've gone to multiple women there depending on the service and always feel great about what I got done when I walk out. I also love the fact it's a full service salon and spa so I can go to one place and get pretty much anything I want done from microneedling, Botox, massage, hair, nails, etc. I Highly recommend Deann for massage, Monika for hair, Rachel for eyelash extensions, and Rachelle for microneedling. I've been seeing Kasey Hight (and Rachel Law when she isn't available) at Visual Effects for years and I love this place. The owner did my eyeliner tattoo after I had it done at So Posh and she messed it up. There is a coffee bar and a little stand of jewelry and scarves for sale up front and a lot of different stations for various independent contractors for hair, nails, etc. Everyone there has always been very kind and friendly! My mother purchased over $1,200 worth of laser hair treatments as a gift for me. After the first three treatments, the laser left unsightly burns on my bikini area. This was back in 2012, and I still have marks due to the misuse of the laser. Lori, one of the top estheticians, assured me that she would make it right and that the hair would reduce quite a bit after she used "a new laser". After over 20 hair treatments, the hair has continued to come back with no change and I am left with the marks, as well as being $1,200 poorer. I would not recommend this salon for hair removal to anyone. Read Less

This salon is great! Everyone is extremely friendly, they have a full coffee bar and are constantly checking in to see if you need anything. I got highlights and lowlights and they turned out great! I purchased a groupon as a present for my girlfriend and they have ignored multiple requests for an appointment to get the massage done.  I have contacted Groupon and they said they will only refund once the service has been completed.  Well how am I supposed to get the service done if they are refusing to schedule it???!!!   Now I get to go through the process of filing a claim with my bank to get the money back.  Why offer a groupon if you aren't able to handle the volume of business it brings?  Terrible customer service!
