I wasn't sure if I wanted to post this review... mostly because I don't want to share my amazing hair stylist with anyone else. But here I am... To start- you have never met someone more picky than me about my hair color and cut. I know what I want, and I wont settle. I do a lot of research prior to trying a new stylist. Well, here is my secret to amazing baby-lights, balayage, and sassy cuts: Heather Johnson. She knows what will look good on you, and knows how to execute exactly what you ask for. She not only is an artist behind the chair but so kind. She truly cares about you and it's evident in her work and how she treats you. she is VERY reasonably priced. especially for the time she spends, the experience, and of course, the outcome. FYI - i have fine hair. Naturally mousy brown color. I get babylights to lighten it up and HAVE to have a soft grow out. I basically want to look like a surfer when it grows out. Super cute salon. Lots of stylish decor. I wasn't greeted for at least 10 minutes that I had been in waiting for my appointment so that was a bummer. They don't seem to have someone just up at the front desk. They are all towards the back and it's all just stylists. I love Alana though. She does my hair and eyelashes and she does an amazing job ! Fete Style Bar is a true gem in downtown Boise. They have a fantastic location, that boasts a feminine, yet modern aesthetic. Whereas other downtown salons have an air of snobbery, all the girls at Fete are warm and inviting. I have been getting my hair done for the past 18 years. As a natural dirty blonde/light brunette with red undertones it's always challenging to find a hairdresser that can pull my hair up to the blonde I like without it turning brassy, orange, purple, or a combination thereof. My husband always used to joke when I went to get my hair done, "See you tomorrow", because inevitably it'd take 6-7 hours to do, and more often then not I'd have to go back in and have it redone because it would be too brassy. Ever since I started going to Cassie Reavis about 1.5 years ago all of that has changed. She is phenomenal! I am never in the salon for more than 3-4 hours (I have very long, thick hair) and I NEVER have to go back to have it redone. It's always the color I like and it doesn't turn brassy. That is saying a lot! Additionally, she is a delight to engage with. Seriously, I adore her. I have referred at least three friends to her and all of them feel the same way. She's amazing. She is so talented and truly works to give you what you want. I will continue to see Cassie for years to come and would highly recommend her to anyone (especially blondes). I have been getting my hair professionally done for the past 11 years in this community, as well as some of the top salons in the nation, maintaining my beautiful naturally thick healthy hair. As a natural blonde, I do not need to do much to my hair besides tone it. The past year I have been having my roots colored dark brown/black. My stylist, Cassie Reavis, had been doing my hair the past year. I went into my appointment on dec 30 with clear instructions to slowly start moving the blonde back up, to eventually not have to maintain roots any longer. Had no problem with this being a gradual process...but she insisted on lifting the color out with bleach. I was hesitant because I've never had lightner placed on my roots, but also trusted her as the professional. Keep in mind this salon uses or advertise "Olaplex" I asked her about it and she said she did not like using olaplex. She puts the bleach on my head leaves the salon to go get more bleach....I sit there with bleach on my head while the other 6 people working think nothing of it. She rinses me out, then there is a red ring I say it's ok if I have to keep it like this for a few weeks, but she says she can not have me leaving the salon like that....puts bleach on my head again, while the owners and other professionals say nothing. Basically she applied this bleach on that line and overlaps color a huge error from a professional...beauty school 101. Takes me back to the sink for an hour where she struggling putting Toner and who knows what else in my hair....takes me back to the chair and I have no hair! Over 90% of my beautifully maintained hair had fallen out at the wash bowl. Everyone staring at me including owners as I stand there in complete shock and humiliation...she is almost in tears apologizing for her mistake and says to go to another salon for a color correction specialist.....I left Fete looking like the photos below. Not once did they reach out to me, offer any sort of Compensation such as hair conditioning treatments to try and salvage what was left on my head. It is disgusting that a business like this exists with absolutely no customer service or care for their clients. Not once did they reach out to see if I was ok. I showed them respect by remaining calm and not causing a sene in front of the clients that were there. It sickens me that these small business owners have no pride or respect for the industry that they are in and not one ounce of professionalism. Save your money and go else where, where they take pride in their jobs and customer service and remain professional as a business and to their customers! Read Less

This was my first time at Fete, and I'm a Las Vegas resident, who was in Boise for the holiday. After my long-term stylist left town, I haven't been able to find a great stylist in LV  that don't work at high-end Strip salons. After checking reviews, I booked a haircut with Tara Chowdry, who was reportedly good with long naturally wavy hair. Tara did an amazing job! I love my haircut! I haven't said that in a long while. I showed her some styles from a fave Instagram account and she loved the lived in look as well. She knew just what to do. Fete continues to give me hairgasms. My hair has never felt and looked this sexy in years. To compare to another would not be fair. There is no other that can do what fete can do. Fete is a blatant and partially well-executed copy of Swink Style Bar in Seattle. It looks nice, is situated in an excellent location, and should be amazing. Unfortunately, the haircut I received was the worst I've had in over ten years. Maybe I got a stylist having a bad day. Maybe the two pictures I brought in weren't clear enough for her. Or maybe it was that she spent so much time trying to sell me products that she didn't leave enough time for actual cutting. It's hard to tell. But when I told her I did NOT want razor cutting done, she seemed to be unsure what to do with me. There were a few snips and chops, and I was sent on my way.Like I said, it's a friendly, busy, well-located place. But I'm still in search of a Boise-based stylist that can handle long, wavy, fine-textured hair. Sigh. Read Less
