So I have been driving past this place for a few years always saying to myself that I'd stop in the next time I wanted my nails done. First off, that's not something I do regularly only because it doesn't fit my life. The last time my nails were done was last Halloween to go with my costume. Well since my actual nails have grown out, I had been wanting some way to protect them. I looked around on YouTube and decided that an overlay is exactly what I was wanting. I walked into this shop about 10:30 or so on a Monday, and was immediately greeted by Tim and his lovely wife. I asked for an overlay with just clear, and that's exactly what I got. Tim was super gentle and attentive, and we had a great conversation all the while. He got near my cuticles and didn't skin me at all, we laughed later when I told him that I had seen and heard of ladies losing skin in that area when they go to other shops. He even went super slowly and carefully when he was buffing towards the end. I can't say how much I appreciate such small, but imperative gestures of consideration. True enough, what I wanted and received was simple, but I just have to highlight how gentle he was, this is very delicate skin that some technicians handle quite roughly, and he wasn't one of them. I don't usually go out of my way to make bad reviews but i had such a bad experience i had to write something. I go in for a pedicure and gel manicure after work, it's about 4 o'clock (i made an appointment for 4:30 but there was nobody there so i was taken early.) The man rushed through my pedicure didn't even clip my toenails just filed them which honestly wasn't the worst part. Between the boiling hot water i couldn't even put my feet in and the fact that the man left me with scratches on my toes because of how hard he scrubbed them with a brush of some sort i don't know which was worse. To finally top off this horrible experience my gel manicure was done while i was sitting on the pedicure chair so i had to bend over to give the lady my hands while she SLOPPILY did my nails which ended up all different thickness and lengths. Paid $45 for the deluxe pedicure , because i really wanted the massage with the hot stones . The guy literally puts the hot stones on my legs n starts finishing up. No massage with the stones nothing ! I asked if he was done already and he said yes, because you coulndt handle the heat . If i couldnt handle i would of said something! I love this place. The 2 ladies have GREAT customer service and I love my pedicure. Both took their time on each customer and each pedicure was completed nicely. I also had my brows waxed and I love it. She also made sure I was satisfied with my wax. I went to a couple places around Wahiawa, Schofield, & Milliani and this place beats all. I've been on island two years and was a continuous customer until had the worst experience ever! The male that does pedicures was very rude and cut my skin!! Trina the manicurist is not so pleasing she never really makes you feel comfortable and they both don't take their time with you. I've been here twice. Two too many. I'll be searching for a new salon place after my last visit. The first time I visited I was the only one in the salon so I didn't have a chance to see their cleanliness practices. My visit was quick. I got a pedicure in which the technician made me bleed on one toe from clipping my thin cuticles. I have been to previous nail salons where technicians notice I have thin cuticles and they don't even bother with them! Nothing is more irritating than going to get a "relaxing" pedicure and walking out with bloody cuticles that hurt for the next three  days. So, I went back as options for nail salons close to Wahiawa are slim. This time I got a mani and pedi. I was not the only customer this time. There was a mom and her two children that were being worked on by only two technicians while the manager (I think) sat in her chair snacking, watching tv, and talking to her employees while I waited for one of the other technicians to be finished. I've never been to a salon where the owner or manager wasn't working as well when you clearly have a customer waiting. So as I waited I was just observing and got to see them "clean their stations". The male technician finished with the girl next to me and swapped out supplies and started on my pedicure. He used gloves which I was happy about then in the middle of my pedicure went back over to the girls feet to finish her top coat and then immediately came back to my feet. Maybe I'm a complete germaphobe but that was gross and strike number one! The other customers left and I saw them clean the tubs with two squirts of Clorox ....... After my pedicure was done he started my manicure while my toes dried. On this visit I ended up bleeding on three fingers! I was pissed and he just kept saying "very thin, yeah?". He put some blue stuff to stop the bleeding and continued on. The way he handled the blood was very unsanitary. He put the oil bottle cap directly on where I was bleeding and then wiped it with his finger in which I then asked for alcohol to clean the area! He then painted my nails which looked like a right handed persons work who decided to use their left hand that day! I had to go home and clean the edges. My cuticles are hurting as I type this. This is my go to place for my pedicure. I travel a fair amount and have seen the service at other places and Nails Max has them beat hands down. They really take the time to pay attention to the details and my feet really look and feel good. I never have an appointment and usually call ahead to check the wait. Read Less

One word...  ROSE!  Hands down, she is the BEST Nail Tech on this Island (Possibly the whole state)! With Rose, it's not just a Manicure or Pedicure. Rose makes sure to give extra attention to your cuticles and nail beds so that your nails grow healthy and strong. She is the ONLY person that I want touching my hands and feet and my mother (who lives in Georgia) schedules a day of her visits to the island specifically to come see Rose while she is here on vacation.P.S. I've seen her designs and although I've never had her give me one, I can assure you that they are FLAWLESS! I needed a pedicure in a pinch. Average. Took me right away though, no appointment needed.I got the gel on my toes because that lasts forev, but the paint job was a little sloppy.  I guess the best part of the pedicure is that it wasn't some quick and dirty snip, paint, and out the door kind of thing. The man was the one who did it.  He was a little clueless on how to ring me up also. I was content with my nail place before my friend showed me her nails. THE ONLY person I go to is ROSE. She is AMAZING!!!! Her designs are always original and fresh. She takes her time regardless of the service you are getting. She pays attention to detail. When I did a figure competition she waxed 100% of my body and did and outstanding job. I've had my acrylics filled a few times in the past and they were ok but I wasn't impressed except for the prices. This review is for the pedicure I got last month. The WORST pedicure ever. I don't know the guy's name and he never introduced himself. He cut my nails soooo short and cut into the soft tissue around my big toe....that became infected. Had to wait for almost an hour even though I had an appointment. Only wanted a pedicure, only saw the instruments being rinsed in water. Used razor on my feet without asking or changing blade. Seemed more like a social group than a business. I will not be returning. Read Less

I really like this place. The quality of the nails are pretty good and they are very inexpensive. Parking isn't great and do not park in the jack in the box parking lot even it never full, jack in the box will tow ur car if you do. The staff is pretty layed back but know what they are doing. Everyone was raving about this place so o choose to go here for my nails for my wedding. I called and booked an appointment before I went in, which when I came was promptly ignored. I sat and waited at least a half hour to even get in someones chair. When I finally am seated I am asked what I want.....and that's the last English I hear directed at me for the rest of the time I'm there. The girl who did my nails, stopped numerous times during the process to answer both calls and texts on her phone. Then to top of the feel of utter and complete rudeness....she tacks on $10 to what I was told before she started. My nails looked horrid and I was treated like dirt when I asked to see at least a manger, who then refused to even apologize. I was having a nail emgerency 6 hours before my wedding, the girl who was going to do them couldn't make it to me. So I called around Wahiawa & Mililani asking different nail places if they could fit me in if I came straight there [I only live on Wheeler AAF]. Every place I called before was honest and said they had other people already waiting and it would take a bit. Not nail max. They told me to come straigh over they could have a chair open and waiting for me. When I got there [barely 15 minutes later] There were people who had been waiting for an hour already and the staff was rude and too busy talking about their personal lives to speed up process, the nail salon is also not as clean as it could be. An hour later I finally get seated and the girl ask if I was gels. I said yes. She did a horrible job and took calls on her cell phone while she worked on me. They charged me nearl $45 after it was all said and done and then she expected a tip! Never going back again Read Less

My fiance and I each got a spa pedi at Max's Nails (a.k.a Nails Max) today and it was wonderful! We were able to call at 6pm and get a 630pm apt that same day and they have roller chairs to sit in for the treatment. The service was 45mins and included lots of foot pampering and nail service. We both had our toes painted with added design. $60 total for 2 pedi's with design. Not bad! The employees were wonderful and professional. The place looks run-down from the outside, but the service is well worth the lack of aesthetics! Read Less
