I haven't had a pedicure in years and decided to treat myself and I'm so happy I did.  I got an appointment with Tien for a pedicure and was very happy with the results!   I wanted a hot pink with some deco and she gave me what I wanted!  I will definitely be going there again and sending my friends there too! I just love those two ladies. How friendly, patient and they just always always ALWAYS doing great job. Any design you will find they can make it.Recently I bought new espadrilles, and they were tight a little. Turns out I had a marks on both big toes. When I chose color, Tien professionally recommended to change it ,in very sweet polite way, she told me that it's too light color, it's not gonna cover marks. I've been going to Tien and Kim from around the time they first opened.  They are so sweet, funny, professional and extremely personable.  They are probably the only ones who would put up with my ridiculous design requests lol!  Their designs and color schemes are very creative.  They do try to accommodate all design requests, but let's not forget they are first and foremost nail technicians and not artists.  But on that note, they are one of the best nail artists I've ever seen!  I love coming here and even booked appointments for the next few months.  They are so considerate to their customers.  When they were going to Vietnam, they let their customers know months ahead.  Their appointments filled up so fast!  Even on a normal basis their appointments fill up fast so plan ahead!!! Never had a professional manicure for 8 years until I had my nails done here. But because I wanted to get my nails done for my wedding and bring my six beautiful bridesmaids here for some relaxation fun, I chose this place based on it's stellar reviews.I called to book an appointment and they were very accommodating to clear up time for 7 girls. Tien and her sister, Kim, are two of the sweetest women. They do not speak in Vietnamese in front of you to talk crap either.Located in a tiny apartment complex thing with only a few parking spots. Tien took care of my nails. I had gotten a Gel French Tip manicure for $30. Looks beautiful, except for a couple of bubbles and uneveness of a few of the French tips, but you couldn't really tell unless you really looked up close. I don't expect perfection because anything is better than my attempts to give myself a manicure. Ha! My gel manicure lasted about 2-3 weeks - it probably would've lasted longer if I wasn't in the water as much, but alas - my job requires it.I trusted them so much that I returned to have them remove the gel. My nails came out fine! The reason for the minus 1 star was the small imperfections in the manicure and because their sign with their list of services says that each manicure comes with a hand massage - which I didn't receive, but would've so loved!If I were the kind of person who gets mani/pedis done - this place would be my "Go To" and I would definitely recommend going here for your nail needs! Beautiful nail.. Do I get to pick which one? As a matter of fact you do.A long time ago, I was introduced to Tien because my coworker raved about her at Manoa Nails. She has since left and opened up her own business with her sister Kim. The first time ever I put pink french tip.  When it came time to put on the color she did my pinky and said is it too light? I said yes it's a little light she picked out another color and let me switch to the brighter color. Most manicurist wouldn't say anything and just keep going but she was kind enough to let me change colors. I love TIEN!!  She is amazing.  She can also do 3D art.  I go back to her because she is quick and she is a true artist.  I love that she can do all kind of mickey nail art.  Bring in a picture and she can try it for you. Creativity and precision! I came here almost 2 years ago right before a trip. At the time it was just Tien and her sister Kim, the hole in the wall was defiantly a hole in the wall. After returning for a much needed manicure, I'm glad to say they knocked down and extended their salon, added more chairs for nails and pedis, and hired a new girl! The place is bright, clean, and friendly. Most importantly, each one of them gives your nails a 5 star precision treatment! They doubled check everything, went slow, and even showed me before continuing...just to make sure they had customers approval and liking! Now that's what I call service. I believe I have found my nail stylist, plus for the amount I paid, I am definitely not looking any further! I believe a simple mani is around $30, I had received gel French tips with 3D flower designs on two fingers for $40, it's no way near steep for the quality service and all around hospitality. I have been searching for a place that does good gel manicures at a reasonable price -- and now my search has ended! I love getting my nails done at Tien's. The girls are always very nice and they always do a great job on my nails. They always stop in the process to be sure that I'm happy with what they're doing. My manicures from Tien's always last so much longer than ones that I've received from other salons. I also love that they will try anything when it comes to nail art. Got an appointment for me and my BFF for 11 a.m. with little notice. This little nail salon is next to Subway, on the corner of S. King and Punahou Street, where Pee Wee's Drive Inn used to be. The entrance to their parking is located on Punahou Street, right next to Subway's parking lot, in the chain link fenced parking lot that looks like it's for a 1-story apartment building...They are in that 1-story building.While the girls are friendly and obliging, and I found the most beautiful shade of peacock blue/green polish,  my technician's execution of the design I chose was disappointing. Tried this place based solely on the reviews I read.  I called as I was getting off work to see if they could fit me in, they could:). I walked in and was promptly greeted by Tien.  The pedicure was great.  Tien was very meticulous in painting my toenails.  I opted for a wrap on by big toes and she worked tirelessly until it looked exactly the way she wanted it to.  She was very easy to talk to.  I perused the designs on her iPad and they are fabulous.  Tien is a very talented nail artist! My boyfriends mother gave me a mani/pedi gift certificate to Tiens, whom she has apparently been seeing for years.I decided to see Tien during NFL playoffs and see if she was up to the task of helping me support my foot team, The New England Patriots and football quarter back god, Tom Brady, via nail art. ( to all you Brady/Patriots haters out there, I don't care of what you're thinking!)I think she thought I was nuts, but it's ok, I'm willing to endure, strange looks and judgement for my football team. Tiens is located on Punahou Street right after young street and across of the block of where O'rielly auto parts is. The parking lot stalls can be super tight ( depending on how everyone that came before parked)and spaces are limited). Make an appointment ahead of time, as Tien and her sister are the only ones there and she had a steady following of clients so it's hard for her to do walkins.Anyway,  I wanted her to design, Tom Brady's jersey (#12) on my big toe, a football on my second toe and the green football field with white stripes on the remaining three toes.( please see attached pics).I also wanted my thumb nails to say "patriots" and have the team mascot drawn on.  (Please see attached pics)Tien must have been wishing my boyfriends mom didn't refer me over with a gift certificate but she did an amazing job! It took her 2 hours and all of my friends in Boston loved her work!Her facility is very clean and it's also under construction as she is adding three more pedicure chairs and more manicure tables to hire staff to accommodate all of her clients. I loved the massages she did during the pedi and mani. Tien is also super easy to speak to and keeps the conversation interesting.Although the patriots lost to the broncos and didn't make it to the Superbowl  this year, I won by finding a great nail technician that can do awesome detailed nail art! I am SO thrilled that I found this place. Tien & her sister, Kim, are both wonderful. They are friendly, polite, and pay great attention to detail. I don't feel like they are ever "rushing" just to get to another customer...they always do a great job!The shop is very small (3 pedi stations and 2 mani stations) but it's never been hard for me to make my appointments. Prices are way more reasonable than the other salons that I used to go to.  They have a wide selection of gel colors and a lot of sequins, stickers, pearls, crystals, bows and other little trinkets to decorate with. I was in need to get a mani, a gel mani that is. The salon I normally go to is closed on the weekends, so I did the smart thing and yelped the closes nail salon that does gel manis and this was it. Tien's Nails is a cute small salon owned by two sisters, REALLY friendly and made sure that you get exactly what you want. My nails turned out cuter then I had imagined. I'm in love with them.
