The ladies here are so friendly but be sure to be on time for your appointment as they often book back to back appointments. I've come to Salon Cherie a few times for their monthly special gel manicures. For $55 before tax and tip, it's not a bad deal, especially if you like the designs for the month. Also, if you come regularly, like once a month, the free soak offs make it worth it. Other places will charge $5-$10 just to remove the gel polish. I have another favorite salon for regular, one color manis. But I like salon Cherie when I'm feeling fancy. The designs range from simple to very complex and glittery. It is a Japanese nail salon after all. I get many compliments about my nails after I go to salon Cherie, but being a little OCD, I've noticed some flaws. The manicurists are so cute and friendly, which beats going to places like smileys for sure. It's a small shop, but well kept and clean. I've always found street parking across the street in the residential area, but there is a parking lot if you want to pay for parking. The first time I came, it was a little hard to find. Really clean and cute salon in the Waikiki Landmark building. This is my first time going to a Japanese nail salon and I was NOT disappointed. It can be pricey, but follow them on IG for their $55 monthly specials (you can change the colors if you wish), which is what I went for. There are only 2 manicure and pedicure chairs so make sure to make an appointment. Chiru was my manicurist and she was very nice and detail oriented. There is parking downstairs in the structure. If you're going down McCully st, stay in your far right and make a right on the Ala Wai. Then stay in your far left lane and turn left into the structure makes with the letter "P". Parking is $1/hour, pay at the machine using your credit card/debit card. The salon is right at the top of the escalator on the 3rd floor. Only difference between the traditional Vietnamese nail salons vs Japanese nail salon is that they don't do the traditional hand massage, which I'm totally fine with as long as they keep up with the beautiful designs, which are also very long lasting. This place is my go-to for Japanese gel nails! The girls here are uber talented. If you can, ask for Mariko!! She does wonders and is so artistic. All the girls are really great at what they do. They have monthly specials that they show on their Instagram page (@saloncherie) that cost $55, not including tax. It includes a free gel removal during your next visit and you can choose your colors for the design. A little pricey for what most gals pay but worth it! My nails last for at least a month.Read Less

It was my first time at Salon Cherie, and I have to say that I loved it! Mika did a great job on my nails and my design turned out beautiful! Inside the salon was very cute and glamorous! Only downfall was the parking, we got lost trying to find it. This salon is way above the average not like other salons in Waikiki. I always ask Mariko and she is the best nail artist I've ever tried in my life. So talented and patient. She spends all her time until I and her both satisfied. Definitely worth all the penny you would spend with her quality work. The work is ok. Not great. Not worth the price. Gel nails lifted after only a few days and the art is sub par. People are friendly however. Nothing to hate really, but also not much to like. For a full priced Japanese nail salon, one would expect premium Japanese nail salon work. I didn't get that. Don't get me wrong, it's much better than that abomination they have in Don Quijote.
