This nail salon was AMAZING!! I am from out of state,  out here visiting family. My Mother, Grandmother and I all got their signature pedicure. My Grandmother and I also got out nails done. This was my first ever pedicure and it was amazing! They are SSOO nice and gental with your feet. The shop is very clean and they use little wraps around the foot bath and change them for each new client. They have a large variety of colors for you to choose from. They have nice massage chairs while you get your pedicure done and offer you refreshing lime/lemon water.They were amazing with my grandmother. She is 88 and tends to repeat herself sometimes, they were very nice and patient with her, talking to her and helped her to the nail drying machine. Had an early appointment next door to here that finished early (8:30am); even though they open at 9am, Nails La Vie had their door open, OPEN sign on, and saw me right away for a pedicure. I've been neglecting my toes so they were kind of a wreck, but Kelly was really meticulous in her process. I splurged for the third tier pedicure (I forget the names; the first tier was only $30, and my splurge cost only $45!) which included foot massage, paraffin wax, and she filed my feet. Those, along with the massage chair and comfy, clean work spaces made it a nice place. I appreciated that I wasn't pressured to talk story either, I got so many emails answered and a lot of work done from my phone. I'm planning on coming regularly until they're back to normal! I came here because my husband had gotten me a gift certificate for mother's day but enjoy my experience. Everyone was nice and very accomodating and nice but more than that, the woman who did my pedicure did a great job. I really like coming here, they can usually get you in right away and I have had several people work on me over the years, I must say my last visit was with Cathy and I really like her gel manicure.  She was very friendly and did a great job even though I went in late on a Sunday!  It has a nice atmosphere.  Most of the people aren't too pushy with getting you to do extra services you don't want although I have experienced this once or twice but it doesn't stop me from going back, it is less than other places.  Overall a nice pampering experience and I would recommend!! Ask for Cathy - she's very sweet, patient, and takes her time to do quality work.Ive been coming here for almost a year now and she is my favorite. I go for the gel polish and last time brought my own color in. I also opt for the signature pedicure which includes the wax for my feet and extra attention for the calluses. I usually spend around $80 dollar for both the mani and pedi and tips are cash only. My manicure usually lasts a solid 2-3 weeks and my pedicure can easily go over a month.Nice clean salon and no harsh chemical sounds. Definitely a nice place to go for a little pampering. Read Less

This review is long over due.  I finally found a place where I can come in regularly to do my nails.  The salon is clean overall and they use disposable liners for each pedicure (two thumbs up just for that alone).  The gel selection is plentiful and amazing!When I come in, I have to see Jenny.  She is so accommodating and she isn't pushy with her services like the other nail salons I have been to prior.  She does excellent work and always asks me first what I would like, but of course being a newbie and having no creative eye, I openly welcome any suggestions she has on the design.  She has never failed me and I have always been impressed each time I went to see her for a pedicure.Today, Jenny accommodated me last minute for my wedding this Friday, which I am so grateful for.  This is the first time I have done a manicure with her and let me tell you, I am blown away with how it turned out.  I cannot see myself seeing anyone but her, for my manicure and pedicure needs.  See her, you will not be disappointed.  Jenny ALWAYS delivers! How long have I been in need of a mani pedi? Practically since birth.  How many times have I had a mani pedi? Twice, including today at Nails La Vie. I came with friends who are regulars. I opted for the super basic mani pedi which is $40. They patiently tended to my overgrown talons without commenting on how poorly maintained my poor feet are.  This was greatly appreciated as I was feeling super anxious before my appointment. My friends opted for the gel sets and I was so envious of their nails!  They looked so good! Maybe one day I'll upgrade to something more fancy. I had been doing my pedicures on my own which was a real pain, literally, in the back. I decided to try out Nails La Vie because they were close to home. I took a look at their yelp page and there was a few reviews that Jenny was the best so I called and made an appointment to get the toes pampered. When I called the girl was very upbeat and friendly on the phone. She said that Jenny worked Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I booked for Saturday (which happened to be small business Saturday, bonus! Gotta support local.).I was about 10 minutes early for my appointment and was happy to easily find a parking spot. The salon is in a strip mall and has parking but the lot is usually jam packed.I was greeted right away when I walked in and they sat me at a chair right away. Which was great because I was able to get the massage chair settings all worked out to relax for a few minutes. The salon was very clean with a nice decor and had soothing music playing.Jenny was super friendly and wearing a cute festive holiday get up. She got right to work and was very friendly. As for the pedi, water temp was perfectly hot/warm and she was extremely professional and detailed oriented. Massage was fantastic and polish looks on point. Mahalo to the yelpers, they were right in saying she's THE BEST!I have a busy day of supporting local businesses ahead of me and am so pleased I started with pampering my feet. Can't believe it's taken me so long to review.   Love this place, clean...the girls are nice (majority of them) clean.. good color selection... and clean! Yay!!  A little more pricey than other salons but I'll pay a little more to not have roaches walking by as I get a pedi.  Massage chairs are also in good shape and all work, I always call before I head in to make sure they're not busy because when it's packed it's a long wait.  But thats only because they take their time and give good massages.  Ok say no more! don't want the secret to get out more than it already has! The time I went here, I needed to replace my stilettos. For anyone who does not knowEverything was going smoothly as I was doing my pedicure. Then I went over to this younger girl for my manicure. I already told her earlier that I do not want my nails to be ripped off. I rather wait longer for the stilettos to be taken off gently. She did not listen, then my mom has to jump in and was all pissed. The service was terrible...if I recall there may have been a lady defending the girl, but lady the customer is always right. Only reason they get 2 stars is for the pedicure part and the cleanliness/new-looking salon. I will never go there again and recommend people not to go either!!! Read Less

My first time here. I got the $28 pedicure. I had a cut on one of my toes and pointed it out to the lady ahead of time so she could avoid it. She repeatedly grabbed that toe which was very painful. And when I reminded her I had the cut she said "she forgot". Then, as she was cutting my toenail, she cut too deep which was very painful and it was bleeding everywhere! When I pointed out the blood, she said it was my fault she cut me bc I "let my toenails grow too long". Very mediocre service overall! My mom brought me here to get my nails done two days before my wedding. The pedicure was ok. Nothing out of the ordinary and the lady kept wanting me to get additional services which I did not want. They were really busy and did not ask me to get my nail polish before I sat down so I needed to get up with wet feet and pregnant to choose a color. They did not understand me very well and I did not understand them very well either. I need tips and I was going to get gel but it would have costed me over $75 just for a gel manicure so I decided on acrylic. They said the guy would put on a thin coat but it was thick and a few of my nails had bumps on the side. It wasn't done very well and I wanted French tip with glitter but my mom's gel polish looked better even though I paid more. My nails grew out and began to come off in less than a week. I would have gone back to make them fix it for the price I paid but I didn't have time with my wedding. I would not recommend this place for acrylic. They did an ok job on my mom's gel mani but more expensive then I would pay. Read Less

This was my first time here and I have to say, this has been the best acrylic manicure I ever had. Thanks to T. I just needed to do my nails again after a horrible job on my last ones. Decided to try out somewhere else that was close to my job and this is where I end up. Best decision, and I think this will be my go-to place for now on. I got to say, their price is a little more than the usual place I go to. Hey, at least I get what I paid for. The only thing was that I felt like she rushed at the end. New customers came in so she rushed the massage and just pretty told me to wash my hand and I was done. No double checking if my nails were alright or in good shape. They have 8 massage chairs so i do my toes and nails at the same time seating here!-Service: Girls are always friendly and the staff is super nice!-Parking: Is shared with other stores and  is not that big so can get tight to find a parking stall but you always try street parking or park in Kahala Mall and walk! I always get french design for my work and i really like the way they do it.I have tried other places (and i know i am hard to please when it comes to nails )but Nails La Vie are one of the best shops out there when it comes to spoiling yourself! I have been going to this nail salon for about a year now.... and I love it! Everyone here is really, really friendly and very professional. I would call to make a reservation to be safe, but usually you can also get serviced quickly when walking in. I have both walked in and called for a reservation and I always get serviced in a timely manner. I usually get gel nails and they are reasonably priced. The technicians here all speak great English and it is nice to have good conversation and properly get across what you want to say. I love manis and pedis, especially if the place is close to your home. I've been here before and really liked the pedis! Very nice and relaxing. However today's visit was very disappointing in so many ways.A couple of us plus my daughters, had an appointment in the evening and verbally got the prices over the phone. We were warmly welcomed and soon after all got seated.Issues:1. I asked for acrylic nails, which I got. As soon as she glued on the fake nail, I told her it was crooked, and she didn't change it. Told her 3 more times, pointed it out to her, but she just tried to file it down.2. I asked for only manis for my daughters and was quoted $5 for the younger one and $8 for the older. My daughters told them they didn't want pedis and they said ok. They took my two girls two separate ways. One of the ladies asked if the little one wanted her toenails done for $5 more. I said sure. At the end, we were billed $15 for the little one. I reminded her that she quoted me $10 and then pretended to not understand me. 3. They gave my older daughter a mani and then proceeded to give her a pedi too. My daughter was confused and said no need and the lady told her, no, it's ok. It wasn't so mad because they charged me $10 for mani and pedi- but still...listen to directions!!!There was much more negative that happened...especially how they seemed to bicker with their other customers. Overall, the service was not near what it should have been, the quality was ok. I was really disappointed in our overall experience. I think the most concerning is overcharging at the end and then using the language barrier as an excuse. Very sad. A part of me thought I should have spoken up more but I'm sure that would have lead to a yelling match- and that's not worth it. I was upset when I left and now I realized...its just sad. Sad that some people are a certain way just to gain an extra buck. I'm sure there are other great employees there, we probably just got the not so nice ones. Hope things improve for them. Read Less
