Desperately wanted to get my dip powder off my nails, as it was bothering the heck out of me. This place was open and accepted me right away as a walk-in. This is a hidden gem in Waikiki! While the building itself is a tad worn, the salon is a bright place, with tons of natural light and super nice, friendly staff. They all wear gloves and masks and seem genuinely concerned about your experience. The price is fabulous! Highly recommend. Read Less

They were very nice to us, so I didn't have the heart to tell them that I hated my nails, I just tipped well and left. I specifically came in here for 3D on my nails after seeing all the good reviews, but after the very nice nail tech was done with my nails, she said she had another appointment so there was no time. I guess there was miscommunication, which is fine, so I agreed to just have a flat design.But as I was waiting, I noticed how terrible my nails looked and just decided to leave. The cuticles look like a hack job, and the polish has bubbles, and there's gel on my actual fingers, and underneath my nails. It looks extremely sloppy. I probably should have spent less time talking to the nail tech to let her concentrate on doing a better job. This place also doesn't give hot towels, or a salt scrub with a pedicure. I didn't get lotion/hand massage after my manicure either. The foot massage was 25 minutes, not 30 minutes, the lady had us look at the clock before she started, and still  gave us less time. Maybe the regulars get better service than people they assume are just tourists. Little did they know, I was hoping to make this my "regular" spot, and tell all my friends about it. One star because they are very friendly, but the the cost is cheap, and you get what you pay for, because they didn't do a good job. I won't be back, and will not recommend this place to anyone else. I had a great experience here.  I came for a mani pedi and upper lip wax, and left happy.My mani pedi was done by Tammy, and was done with skill and efficiency.  I appreciated the fact I was asked if I was happy with the shaping of my nails, and that she made adjustments based on my feedback.The location (on the 6th floor of an office building) may be a bit difficult to find - fortunately, they texted me a map with directions when I called to make my appointment.  Also, a staff member was waiting for me in the lobby of the building at my appointment time with a sign that said "Nail Zone," which I thought was a very nice touch.The prices are a bit higher than what comparable salons charge in my home town of San Francisco (the regular mani pedi was $40), but that may simply be a "Waikiki premium."Overall, a great place to get a mani pedi in Waikiki - glad I found this spot via Yelp! I visited Nail Zone last time I was in Honolulu (one week ago), and I had an amazing pedicure! Two super sweet staff members met me at the entrance to the building and showed me into the salon. Didn't have time to get my nails done before coming to Hawaii so I searched for a place to get my nails done and I am so happy I found this diamond in the rough nail salon. The bottom left photo is what I showed them what I wanted, and the other two are my nails! Kay was so patient as I flip flopped on the colors and designs I kept going back and forth on and also took into consideration my budget by suggesting different materials to get this look. I came here by chance on New Year's Eve. I had a bit of a nail emergency & am quite the picky client. And I was very happy with my experience and results. I have a hard time finding nail salons that I like and that offer the looks that I go for. I wanted something chic and luckily they had it. Yuki did my nails and tried to do the best that she could with the set I already had. She did all the extra steps she could to make them perfect for me and I was very appreciate of that. I made an appointment for the Nail Zone after reading numerous reviews on nail salons.  They were highly rated so I thought why not, give them a try.  On the phone they were helpful and I had no problems getting there.  However, once I got in walking distance, I couldn't figure out where they were located - even with the directions being "across Ross."  Turns out they were in a non descript building with no real sign on the outside.  I go into the building and its a bit dilapidated and sketchy with questionable elevator. I almost turned around but didn't. I walked in and they started my pedicure right away.  It was a technician that was other than Kay and John. She was nice and she did my manicure too.  I saw the interaction between John and Kay.  He is a little mean to her but she's the one married to him so who am I to judge.  Kay is evidently really good at designs and stuff so she does that specifically for people.  I can understand.  My tech tried to talk me into a design for my finger but I went neutral pink.  The only negative that I have is that for a gel polish, it was pretty thick. I've had a few gel polishes after that which weren't nearly so thick as that one, but on the other hand, it never pulled up near the cuticle so maybe thats the trick.  Either way, brave the scary building and give them a try.  They were the best priced and did a good job. After making an appointment by phone, they sent me directions and prices. They are very friendly! I also went before my appointment time and they started, very accommodating! Everyone was so nice and friendly the whole time!They did a great job on my nails and the cute gems they put on my nails! Absolutely love it! My friend gets her nails done here and they always last until her nails grow out quite a bit! Like other reviewers -- Kay is awesome!!! I give her 5 stars. I made an appointment today at 4 pm for a gel manicure and regular pedicure. When I called to make the appointment, the staff told me that I could look at the designs ahead of time to get ideas for the manicure. I came early, before 3:45 pm so I could look at the designs and not feel rushed before the appointment.. as I don't do well under pressure! Though I arrived early, the Vietnamese owner (reading other reviews, he is Kay's husband) kind of rushed Kay to hurry and start working on me.. though I wasn't even sure what I wanted yet. There wasn't anyone waiting and I specifically came early so I wouldn't feel pressured to make a decision right away. Kay was really kind, and showed me some designs after I showed her a picture of something I liked. She began cleaning my nails and 5 mins in, the Vietnamese guy came over and told her to stop and work on someone else. She was in the middle of cleaning my cuticles and told him she needed a few more minutes, but he insisted she stop and work on another customer's pedicure. She kindly told me she'd be back to do my manicure, and in the meantime someone else would begin my pedicure. After rushing into the manicure, I hadn't chosen a color for the pedicure yet, so I began looking at the colors before sitting in the pedicure chair. I was literally looking for just a few minutes before the Vietnamese man came over to me and asked what color I was looking for. I told him I wasn't sure, but wanted a neutral color. He got a small basket and grabbed 5 random neutral colors that I hadn't chosen, put them into the basket and told me to sit down. He then said I'd have 30 minutes to make a decision from that basket of colors while my feet were cleaned. It was just about 4 pm at that time which is when my appointment was actually scheduled, yet he was so quick to get me in and out. I was annoyed. I sat down for the pedicure and didn't like any of the colors he randomly grabbed, so I asked the pedicure lady (super sweet Vietnamese lady) if I could look at another color, she was about to let me stand up then the Vietnamese guy came over and needed to make it his business, and asked what was going on. I just told her to grab a random green glitter color from the wall near her, and settled on that. I didn't feel comfortable with the Vietnamese guy standing around watching everyone, and not doing much else but telling his workers what to do. Which is why it never crossed my mind that he was Kay's husband. After the pedicure, Kay did my gel manicure -- SO well. I love it! She was so friendly and sincere, which put me in a better mood after the pedicure color experience. She pays attention to detail and was really professional in her work, also taking into consideration if you're happy with what she is doing. Let me start by saying this review is not about the nail work for the salon, but about customer service. Never in my life have I had an experience like this where I have been this shaken and rudely treated. I called ahead of time to book an appointment for a fill and a pedicure and I found the place without too much trouble and there was a girl waiting to meet me with a nail Zone sign at the base of the elevators. I did not get her name but the girl was very very nice and sweet. She took me upstairs to start my appointment and I sat down to start my pedicure and she introduced me to another nail tech who was also very sweet and kind. The girl started to do my pedicure and about 10 minutes in, I asked if they were going to start doing my fill also because I only had an hour. The girl next to me who came up to get me said sure no problem that she would start as soon as she was done with her client. Out of nowhere the guy who booked the appointment and perhaps owns or manages the nail shop started yelling at me from across the salon saying I did not say on the phone I wanted two people to work on me at once. I made it very clear over the phone that I only had so much time and needed both a pedicure and fill. In addition the guy was so rude I literally almost started crying because I was so embarrassed. I promptly told them to please stop the pedicure and I would go somewhere else to find services. I tried to tip the girl that had started working on me $10 but she apologized and said it was okay. I told the gentleman that was yelling at me it was not what he said but how he said it and he was extremely rude. My friends and I were highly impressed by the excellent service, quality and price. The staff were meticulous and gentle and had outstanding attention to detail. They were friendly and accommodating and provided my friends and I with good local information. The shop is located on level 6 of the seaside commercial centre (blue building). This location is axeoss the street from Ross on the 6th floor. Not difficult to find at all. I chose this place because of it's amazing yelp reviews. It was my first time here and I did a walk in at around 12pm on a Monday. Not bad! On my way out it started getting really busy so I lucked out.Yuki san did my nails. My mom and I made last minute appointments at this establishment and I'm so glad we did. We kind of just went here on a whim - looked on yelp and it had overall great reviews so we gave it a chance. Everyone was so friendly! The location of this salon is kind of confusing, but they had someone downstairs near the elevators waiting for us! We got a little lost, and upon approaching the elevators we thought would take us to the salon, a very courteous woman asked if we were looking for 'Nail Zone'. She then showed us upstairs. It was a wonderful and welcome touch since the location is kind of obscure. The nail artists were professional and conversational. They listened to what you wanted for your nails and would show you what they were doing - i.e. When my manicurist filed my nails she showed me what she had done and asked if it was okay. They were so nice. Seriously, some of the most friendly nail artists I've ever met. They spoke at length with my mother and I and got to know us a little bit, and were very attentive to our needs throughout the whole process. I got a mani/pedi, both were perfect. I wore the wrong shoes for the pedi, and they told me to come back if I messed them up with my sandals. As well, I have an injured right foot and my pedicurist was so mindful of my injuries. On vacation in Waikiki with my husband we were looking to get good mani and pedi found nail zone on Yelp. Called made an appointment for next day. Kay made sure to send us the pricing and map directions to her nail salon . Place is clean and in tall 7 story building, we were greeted so nicely by Kay. She was on her way down to wait to make sure we found the suite okay. My husband got the relax mani and pedi was very happy with the services I did gel color change Kay took her time made sure to clean my nails before reapplying the new color. Needed my nails filled and found Nail Zone on Yelp. After reading a few of the comments, decided to check this place out. I've passed this building several times previously not realizing it housed several businesses. Walking through the building feels a bit sketchy, but once you enter Nail Zone you'll find a clean, bright space. They were able to accommodate me as a walk in pretty quickly. Kay did my nails. She was very friendly. She took her time and did a better job than my regular manicurist back at home. She checked in with me regularly to make sure I was happy with what she was doing and suggested the coffin shape for my nails which I like a lot. $40 for the fill and gel color, not including tax and tip. Nail Zone is the place to go to get your manicure and pedicure done in Waikiki! Kay and her husband were great communicators. I had a 9:30am appointment and due to the location of the salon (not the best) Kay's husband was there to direct me to the right place. I am very particular about my nails and what goes on them. So I was very skeptical about going to a new salon in a new location, BUT I was blowed away by Kay's ability to take the time and listen to me while I explained to her exactly what I wanted done. She was also very instrumental in giving her expert opinion to assist me in making my decision. The best part about that is that she was not trying to push any EXTRA services on me. She just wanted to make sure I was happy and satisfied with my final decision before she started!She went out of her way asking me in every stage if I liked her work so far! Now that is great CUSTOMER service! She also took her time and did not rush. The end product was GREAT AND BEYOND WHAT I HAD IMAGINED! My nails we beautiful, not to thin or tooo THICK either! They were PERFECT. I did dip powder and she definitely knew how to handle the product. So if you are looking for a great ambiance and high end luxury salon in a high end mall or hotel well this review is not for you! This place is located in an old building and if you blink you might miss it! Located on Seaside Ave. across from Ross in a older light blue building on the 4th floor.I came here in early February and have great things to say! I don't often get my nails done, but when I have a great experience, I have to go back. Valentine's Day was coming up and I wanted to treat myself. It was my first time getting Acrylic nails. Yuki is meticulous & skilled at what shes does. Don't think I could've had a better experience. We created a unique and super cute design. I added jewels and nail art $1-$5 (each) depending on design. Very much worth it; I loved it! I kept the acrylics on for over a month before I decided to take them off. They stayed in perfect condition until the end; still shiny and good as new. I was worried they would easily chip or break off, but I was wrong. I came back this past month to get gel nails and was pleased once again. They also have specialty nail polish/designs that many other nail salons don't carry. I highly recommend this place! I will definitely be a regular at Nail Zone! Humorous owners and sweet employees! My friends and I decided to have a girls night out and we wanted to get our nails done. We called the morning of to ask for a 5:30pm appointment, and they were excited to have us when we came in. Before doing anything, John told us the exact price of what we were all getting, to make sure we were okay with the amount. The place is run by husband and wife, and Japanese speaking employees which was a plus for me. I love the customer service they provided us. I was a little worried that one of my friends had to wait until one of us were done to get her nails started on (short staffed) but I was pleased and thankful for the fact that John and Kay stayed back until 7:30pm to make sure all of our nails were dry and did not rush us even though we stayed half an hour after closing.Yuki did an amazing job! I have cerebral palsy which makes my right hand tense up at times, and when I go to different nail salons they ALWAYS get angry at me when I accidentally mess up my nail before it dries. I was afraid that Yuki would do the same and be angry with me because I messed up my thumb and ring finger nails but she was totally okay with it! Don't get discouraged by the location. Although it is tucked away in an building that looks like an old hotel, it is a clean salon to go to. The staff is incredibly friendly, they made me feel welcome right away. The service is incredible. The nail art is all by hand and beautifully done. The prices are very good, especially for Waikiki.
