I went to Nail Tek to save time from going to my usual place. I had a funny feeling while my SNS nails were getting done. It just didn't feel right. It felt like he was rushing through it, not the quality experience I get from my usual place. The morning after I got my manicure, one of my nails popped off. I mean, snapped right off like it was put on with Elmer's glue. I didn't have time to go ask them to fix it, because I'm on the way out of town. I plan on going back to ask for a refund. SNS nails are supposed to last for at least 2 weeks, so 1 day is unacceptable. The application is also uneven and doesn't cover my whole nail in some spots. Bad quality, especially for a $40 manicure. With the abundance of nail salons out there, this place needs to step up the quality to keep up with competition. Read Less

Not very impressed with my gel manicure. There was some language barrier obviously but I couldn't understand the few words this guy spoke to me. The color I picked really needed 3 coats but he acted like he didn't really want to do another coat, plus he cut my thumb cuticle and made it bleed and didn't even say sorry or anything. I am only writing this review because right now, 3 days later, my thumb is still sore. The nails are not symmetrical and the edges aren't smooth, so I keep snagging on fabric and having to smooth something down myself. For as much of my cuticle that he trimmed off, he didn't even paint a nice line, it's all jagged and looks like I painted my nails myself. He damn near filed a hole through my already thin nails - I explained that I had acrylics on previously and to be careful about sanding down the tops but he continued with the roughest grit file and filed away. Last but not least, it took FOREVER to get a damn gel manicure. and It was more of a polish change than anything else. I'd probably give one of the other nail salons in the area a shot before coming back to this one. *ETA - less than a week later 3 of my gel nails have chipped/peeled away. I believe this is because the tech didn't paint over the edge of my nails and smooth it down, so all the edged are chipping up and peeling. I've never had a gel manicure this bad! WOW. Read Less

I totally love this place.  I have traveled all all the world and can never find the pedicure i get at this location.  I now live in florida and everytime i come back to Atlanta, i make my way back here.  I pay 35 for a pedicure where each of my feet and legs are exfoliated, masked, dipped in paraffin and are wrapped in hot towel individually.  Not a hot towel dropped on my legs to wipe them down.Dang i really miss this place. I was previously scarred for life at a nail salon in Kennesaw. Haven't had my nails done professionally since. Nail Tek is amazing. My tech was amazing. I should've gotten his name. I got a French gel polish manicure. They didn't look natural! Looks like I should've paid for a full set because they look perfect. I can't believe they're my natural nails. I found my favorite place and I don't want to step foot into another salon ever again. Very clean and professional atmosphere. You definitely need to stop reading the reviews and just go! Read Less

Nothing wrong with the place, I was the first customer of the day and it was clean and for a simple polish removal a basic manicure and clear nail polish it was 17 USD. Cant complain. It was fine. I just happened to be in the area and desperately needed my nails done and I found it by accident. If I was in the area I would go back. I was referred here and told to get a mani/pedi with "Betty." When I arrived and said I had an appt with Betty, a very young woman named Betty gave me a fantastic pedicure. I found out later that the Betty to whom I was referred is an older woman, the owner. If you call asking for services from Betty the owner, she will switch you to someone else upon arrival. So far, everyone I have been switched to has been excellent, but I do not like to feel manipulated or "hustled." Also, be very specific about what service you are ordering. They have a laminated menu, and you need to see it first. If not, you could find yourself charged for the higher-priced choice without your having agreed to it. If not for the service-provider switcheroos and "upsells" I would rate this place 5 stars. Read Less

I have gone there off and on for a while and always had a great experience until recently. The last 4 time I have gone my experience gets worse and worse. When I went in I had nail polish on and instead of using some kind of acetone she used the electric nail file not only on the existing acrylic nail but also my actual nail. It got very hot and painful. My nails are crooked, cracking, and just an overall mess. It has been only 2 weeks, I get them filled in or a new set every two weeks, and they look like I have I haven't redone them in maybe a month. They are super thick and when I tried to say something the lady doing my nails kept telling me no and they are thin. The lady next to me had an issue with the way here nails were painted and was also greeted with arguments about nothing being wrong. My cuticles were so bad they started to peel and bleed the next day. I will not be getting my nails done here again. I'm going to have to have these removed and wait for the skin around my some of my nails to heal before I do anything else. Read Less

I have been coming here for some time but recently took a hiatus and I'm glad that I did because I doubt I will be coming back unless it's a nail emergency. I walked in on a semi-busy Saturday for a gel manicure and pedicure. I waited a short time before being escorted into the back room where some little girls were finishing up a birthday party. That wasn't such a big deal except the children were screaming and running around and I was there to relax. I sat with my feet in the water for maybe fifteen or twenty minutes before the services were started. The services were done simultaneously, which was great, however, about half way through my manicure, the gentleman performing said manicure took several phone calls in regards to his brother and some type of legal trouble. Again, I was there to relax, not listen to your employee yell about his personal issues. Then, I assume they were children of employees, came back to the area that I was in and started playing and making a lot of noise. Again, trying to relax here. The pedicure was great, the gel has maintained well, however, the manicure was terrible. I had to tell him what shape I wanted, he never asked, and the gel kept bubbling and he kept having to remove it and start over. He began to get very frustrated and tried to convince me to do a pink gel instead of white. I insisted on white because that's what I came in for. He stopped the manicure and told me that someone else would be over to fix it. I waited another five minutes before another gentleman came over to fix my nails. He was able to keep the white from bubbling but left black specks or something in the gel. At check out, I told them that I was very dissatisfied with my nails and they offered to fix it for free but I would have to come back another day. By the way, the gel on my nails has already chipped! After two days! It's supposed to last two weeks plus. So no, that's okay, I won't be back. I'll drive the twenty plus minutes to Kennesaw to go somewhere that I know does an amazing job and has done so consistently.  I also suggest that you offer more than one brand of white gel. Whatever they were using was not a brand that I had ever seen or heard of. At least the place is Kennesaw uses OPI and I know that is a great brand. Read Less

I have been here four times, since the ladies in my neighborhood like it, and keep encouraging me to go back.  I have been underwhelmed every time.  The first time, I got someone so inexperienced, he did not know how to wrap my feel with the plastic for the callus treatment, or with the hot towel.  He tried twice, then the guy doing my friend's feet had to help him.  The polish also got all over my toes!  The next time, the young lady kept getting her hair in the soaking water, then it would stick to my legs.  Ew!  So unsanitary!  I can't believe she didn't pull it back, or at least brush it over her shoulders.  I had to go home and wash my legs!  The third time, the woman cut my cuticles so badly, she had to put some green stuff on them to stop the bleeding.  I had scabs for three weeks - not at all what a nice pedicure should look like!  The fourth time was adequate, and the only reason they got 2 stars instead of 1.  The guy was professional, and I actually got done at the same time as my friend, rather than her having to wait 10-15 minutes for my slow person to be done!The service is very hit or miss.  If you find someone you like, go, it is clean, but otherwise, look for someplace where all the technicians are trained on how to do pedicures.  Clearly they are not at Nail Tek. This place is nice and clean inside. We also got quick service for 2 people as walk-ins for a mani/pedi. The staff was friendly and they did a pretty good job. The prices are quite reasonable. My biggest complaint was that they did a more expensive pedi than the one I requested, and then I felt obligated to pay for it. Also, my nails were done too quickly and after 10 minutes under the lamp/fans, the polish slid right off my nails within minutes of leaving. And all I did was gingerly pull my keys out of my purse!I would return, but only when I can afford/need a gel polish on my fingers. Regular polish just doesn't cut it for me anymore. It is also a good place for a pedi, but I would make extra sure they don't upsell you without your knowledge.**Update: forgot to mention how the lady who did my fingernails had used a high-grit nail file to grind down the surfaces of my nails (not the edges, the actual surface). This bothered me a bit, but I rolled with it. Fast forward a few days, and my nails began breaking off way below the "line" (not sure what you call that in humans. In dogs, it's the quick or nail bed). I have very strong nails that almost never break, and I can grow them to pretty much any length I desire, so this is pretty unusual. I went in last night for a much needed mani/pedi.  This shop was recommended by my aunt, who has pretty high standards, so I figured I should check it out.The service was amazing, I got a deluxe mani/pedi with gel polish on my fingernails.  The color looks very shiny and smooth, like it did when I used to get acrylic nails.  I usually chip my nails the very next day, but so far so good.  Everyone was very good, and the lady who worked on my feet, bless her heart, was very thorough.  They also did not cut my nails down too far or mess up my cuticles, which is a problem I have had in the past at other shops.  For the mani/pedi with gel polish it was $53.  They also do eyelash extensions for $70 which is much cheaper than other places.  (The eyelash extensions are a strand by strand eyelash extension not to be confused with the strips or the "individual" lashes [which are actually two or three lashes together] ) One of the nail techs had her eyelashes done and they looked very natural.  I will go back in a few weeks to try it out.
