This review is for the school, not any products or treatments received. I am a licensed esthetician who wanted to work in laser, so I attended the Elaine Sterling Aesthetic Medical Laser training program to become certified. The class was off-site at a dermatology clinic in Stockbridge, GA. The clinic's office remained open for business while a group of five of us were there to learn laser. Not all patients were there for laser skin treatments, though. Many were Juviderm or R...estilin appointments, and licensed Estheticians are prohibited by law from performing injections. The way I factored it, there were five of us students, each paying $2,500 for the week long "class", so between Elaine Sterling and the dermatology doctor allowing us to observe, they were able to split $10,000 for essentially doing nothing. I was told by the rep with the Elaine Sterling Institute that all of her graduates receive priority employment consideration when clients contact her seeking laser-certified estheticians, but I never once was contacted for any employment opportunities. I followed up with my interest by routinely contacting the institute and by attending an institute open house to speak with Elaine Sterling, but she brushed me aside. I base my judgements best I can based on the totality of my observations and experiences, and all I can sum up from this is that she is a rude, haute, South African snob misleading others into paying thousands for possibilities that lead to nowhere.
