For years I would buy a certificate for my friend who lived in this location. Loved how happy it made my friend. Then, I bought a certificate and found that my friend had moved away and could not use the certificate. I called expecting a refund minus the credit card transaction fees. The services provided here are primarily hair styling and coloring, Aveda hair and make-up/skincare products, mani/pedis, and basic 'spa-type' treatments such as massages and facials. I can only vouch for the hair, products, and pedi services. On the Green has tiered hair stylists, so one may pay more or less for services depending on the level of expertise of the stylist. I like this feature personally. The staff is able to discuss the benefits of the makeup and skincare products at a very basic level. I like that they've never been pushy. Hair stylists are well-versed about hair products. They are an Aveda salon; all products are Aveda brand. I have had mixed results with pedicures. The 'spa' services offered are not generally available in the immediate area, so it's nice that they provide them. However, I find the prices quite high given competitors' rates. Read Less

Deep Tissue is my favorite and i recently tried Swedish l like them both. My favorite masseuse is Wendy. She is amazing and the only one whom knows how to melt those tense muscles. I don't have a problem with the performance of their employees.  The owners, however, are ethically challenged at best.  I went there for service and to use the remaining balance on my gift cards.  On the first day I had no problem using my gift cards and I was told that I had a $150 balance.  So, I scheduled more services two days later.  When I tried to pay for services two days later it was either the daughter or sister of the owner (she had an infinity tattoo on her wrist), who told me that I could not use the gift card that I had used two days earlier and that her computer told me it was somebody else's card, implying that I was ripping her off.  I ended up having to pay for my services since they had already been performed. If you are a new submarine spouse in the area or an Osprey Cove resident, I highly recommend that you use one of the other establishments in the area such as Salon Ella Par.  By no means should you ever purchase a gift card from On the Green because there is a high likelihood they will rip you off. Spa services - decent for a small town. Salon service - severely lacking. I booked an appointment several days ago for this afternoon. I arrived 10 minutes prior to my appointment time, I was not taken back until 10 minutes after, then they wasted more time deciding if they could even complete my hair color. They kept blaming it on "the new girl" and how she doesn't understand scheduling. The decision was that I could not be seen or that I could only get half of what I wanted done. I then sat in the relaxation room with a warm neck wrap. My massage therapist asked me for my problem areas and explained what she was going to do. I laid on my side and basically hugged a body pillow while she worked on my back. I was okay with her massaging my feet. I was surprised to have a su...gar foot scrub apart of my massage! From other massages I've received by other businesses, a sugar foot scrub is an add-on. The massage on my belly was so relaxing too, I think my baby enjoyed that! lol She continued with arms, hands, shoulders, and lastly head and forehead. I wish the hour was longer! When the massage was completed, you take your time to put the robe back on, walk to the lockers to retrieve your items, and get dressed in the dressing room. i just want to quickly rave about my recent experience with On the Green Salon when I hired their team to assist with the hair and makeup for my wedding day. Of course as a bride, you want to look and feel your best, and without a doubt, the staff here made me look and feel incredible. They were detailed when scheduling everything for the big day and made sure they had ample time and assistance with everyone in my party. On the day of my wedding, they were on-time, profess...ional, and super helpful to me and my bridesmaids, as well as my mother, mother-in-law and a few other friends who took advantage of their services. The pricing was very fair for the level of service provided and I could not have been happier with how everything turned out. We all were on-time for pictures and the festivities surrounding getting ready and it just set such a wonderful tone for the best day of my life. Unfortunately I have had to open one multiple times because the owner, Mary Rose, continues to state I didn't leave the salon unhappy. On The Green has never disappointed in any service I've ever had there. The staff from the front desk to massage therapist to esthetician has been incredible. Unfortunately my experience here has gone from a 5 to 1 due to the front desk and management. I've had a few different stylists due to changes at the salon. I had someone new this past week and I'm guessing not everything the last girl did was in my notes (gray cover & toner plus some highlights). I let her know immediately I wasn't happy and due to her next appt she said schedule time to come back. Unfortunately that was 2 weeks to wait with bad hair. I tried contacting the owner to discuss on a Saturday and was told I would have to wait until Tuesday. By 2 PM Tuesday I called to follow-up and was told I would get a call. Got an email after 9:30 PM telling me I got what I paid for and nothing else was needed. I have pictures from every hair apt over the last year showing the gray coverage in my appts. I'm not sure whether to think I was undercharged for the last year or.. Either way I think their customer service is something you should consider before going here. Read Less

I have a challenging color and a lot of gray. Steve does an excellent job making sure my color covers my gray, holds, and is consistent. I drive 45 miles to get my hair done and it's worth the trip every time. In addition to being extremely professional and delivering quality service, they provide excellent customer service. Not only is this place not worth the price I paid, but the service was lackluster at best. The pedicure was short lived and done with half measures. For the manicure all she did was soak my hands, than she painted my french tips with a nude color I didn't ask for. It's only been a week and the polish has already chipped. For 30 dollars you would think it might last 2 weeks. Nope, not at on the green. The only redeemable part of the experience was the message. I will not be coming back and I can just as easily pay some one else their rediculous price to do it right.  Instead of the half assed service I received at this joke of a spa. I've only been in here twice, mostly for hair services. I decided to try them out because I had a friend who worked for them. I needed a haircut and eyebrow wax and they set me up with Andrew. He's wonderful and it was nice to go to a salon on my first try and get my hair cut the correct way the first time. I was also a little shocked to have my eyebrows done while my hair was being conditioned in the chair, but he did an amazing job. I've never had a guy cut my hair or wax me, but I will be going back to Andrew. They also helped me with my Halo Couture Extensions and they were amazing and held up for my wedding - definitely the investment and now I won't need to buy a brown wig for costumes.I would have given 5 stars, but I would like to try out other services with them before I give them my full approval, but I'm still very much a fan of the place. This place keeps me sane.  It is my oasis in the turmoil of everyday motherhood.  I have had services on both the salon and the spa side, and I have always been very pleased.  Cut and color, makeup, up do, mani/pedi, massages and waxing have always been stellar.  The ladies at the desk make an effort to know your name (especially if you are a repeat customer) and you are offered a drink while you wait (although the wait us usually never long).  The spa, although not large, is pleasant and has a nice relaxation room for you to wait as well as nice cozy robes.  The salon is bright and cheerful and I've never had a bad cut or color. I was so sad to see the two negative reviews for On the Green.  As with all salons, it is always a possibility to catch someone on a bad day or to just not see eye to eye with a stylist.  But, I've been a customer for over two years, and they have always been accommodating, professional and highly skilled.  They are also very active in the community.  They take whole days off to participate in local parades and fundraising events.  They sponsor local arts groups and their commitment to the Aveda philosophy is evident.  Kids Scoop:  My daughter loves to comet the salon!  They regularly do older kids cuts (my six year old does fine, but a squirmy toddler might be better elsewhere).  She gets a REAL haircut, not just a kids trim for an affordable price.  I have also brought her for mommy/daughter maniures, which she adores.  Military:  On the Green has a great military discount!Also, the deli next door is owned by the same family and they make a fabulous sandwich. In August of 2013 I went in for a Brazilian wax. It was by far the absolute worst experience I have ever had. I have been waxing for about eight years, and due to the military I have traveled far and near, having waxing services done in many locations and this was hell on earth. The person providing my wax took nearly two hours to perform my service . Two hours?!!! I have never spent any more than 30 minutes at any waxing studio. Two hours later, she had amazingly still left a ton of hair and had the nerve to ask if I wanted to come back the next day for her to finish. Absolutely not!!! I highly recommend this place to everyone! All the staff are very warm and pleasant, it truly is no wonder they have been voted Best Customer Service in Camden County 4 years in a row! Not to mention Best Salon and Best Spa for the last 4years! I go to Maura for my facials; with Aveda skincare products, I look 10 years younger and my skin is the best it has ever been in 15 years! As far as a stylist, I have been to Nicole or Sam and recently tried Jillian! They are all so amazingly talented, that I will go to who ever is open at the time I am booking, because I usually call last minute. I scheduled an appointment with Jillian at On The Green in December. From the moment I walked in the door I had a great experience. I was greeted by a professional young lady at the front who checked me in and brought me a beverage. Jillian came out immediately. After highlighting my hair for 20+ years, I feel I know the best way for my hair to take the color. The stylist informed me that 'we don't use the dryer' here. Well, I have to sit under the dryer for the highlight to take and it was very aggravating to pay the $$$ that I did and come out of there with roots that didn't look like they'd been highlighted at all. Too much 'spa' fluff going on. Who cares about reading cards to determine which scent should be sprayed over you to evoke a mood. I wanted my hair highlighted, cut and styled in a timely manner.
