I won't be going back to this nail salon. I went on a Friday mid-day... they were rushing! The couldn't handle the clients. My mani and pedi were rushed! This place is amazing! I came here one evening immediately after another salon nearby screwed me over and out of $80. A guy there (I think his name was Kevin) was so kind and stayed over an hour after closing to correct the other salons errors and even gave me a discount when he saw my receipt showing that I had literally just left another place! I've been here for a pedicure about three times, and I had never been dissatisfied. The last visit, I think my pedi could've been more thorough. It wasn't the worst I've ever had, just mediocre. Since my previous visits have gone so well, I will give them another try if I'm in the area. The decor and atmosphere is modern and CLEAN. The staff is friendly, but not pushy (thank goodness). I thought the service was pretty quick! I came in near closing time for a soak off, manicure and eye brow wax. The people seem pretty nice here. I came after work and was pumped they were open on a Sunday!! I never felt rushed at all even though they were practically closed. I liked the place, very clean and quaint. Not over crowded and a staff of four. The manager (he) definitely treated me different than the two Caucasian women who left before me but maybe they paid more for their services. I went to this place today, really nice atmosphere. The workers were really friendly, the decor is up to date. It's also in a nice area compared to some of the places I've been. Now with all that being said, I'm sure you're wondering why I gave them one star. Well, the term "everything that glitters isn't gold" is perfect for this business.I am very peculiar about my nails. I go to places that have higher ratings and sometimes even higher prices because I feel I will come across better quality. Not here.Originally, I wanted a full acrylic set with coffin shaped nails - showed my tech an example picture and everything. Like I stated before, I have OCD when it come to my nails, so when my tech was finished shaping my nails THEY WERE ALL CROOKED! And very uneven. So I asked her to fix them & she did. Well at least she tried. I still was not happy with my nails so I told her to do a much easier shape - stiletto. That was also a fail. And when she (I'm so sorry for not giving a name but I honestly don't remember) was finished with the set I noticed 3 things. 1. The shapes were all over the place, some very sharp & some more round. 2. The lengths were very different. 3. My acrylic was bumpy and uneven. What really put the icing on the cake, though, was when she silently got up and left the salon. She didn't ask if I liked them, she didn't even say goodbye which was very unprofessional. Of course I asked for a refund because my nails were destroyed beyond repair and of course my request was countered with an offer to only get half of my money back and to come back tomorrow and have the manager redo them. 1 thing is for certain, after I go get my nails "fixed" I will NEVER return to Nail Genre & I will never recommend this business to anyone. This place is close to my house which is convenient. It's very clean and the owner and technicians are all very friendly. The price is average and comparable to other nail salons. I went in for a regular mani/pedi. The lady who did my pedicure, very young, did a so so job painting my nails, the lady, a little older, who did my finger nails noticed right away and fixed the issue without me saying a word to her. If it wasn't for the pedicure mishap, I would have given the place 5 stars. Next time I'll ask for the older more experienced technicians. Read Less

I went here for the first time after spending a good amount of time digging through reviews trying to find a consistently well-rated salon in my neighborhood for a pedi and an acrylic mani. I very rarely go to salons and I'm pretty soft spoken, so I'm a little shy/awkward when I go.The place is obviously popular; I came in at 3pm on a Thursday (on vacation) and while I was sat immediately for my pedi in the only empty chair, it took awhile until someone was available - no problem there, totally understand business is business. I didn't make an appointment and I was in no rush.The woman who did my pedi did a great job except for 2 things: I paid for a spa pedi, and she straight up skipped the mud mask. I don't NEED it, but it is allegedly part of service. I didn't realize it until afterward when I was sitting at the drying station. She also left this weird bit of nail flap on my left little toe. I can cut it off myself, it's not a big deal, but she painted it and everything. It's pretty obvious.As for the mani...well, I'm not thrilled. I get acrylics sometimes because I have a finger picking habit, which acrylics prevent me from engaging in. I keep them very short when I get them. The guy rushed and I had to keep pointing out where the filing was so uneven the tips appeared weirdly slanted. I'll give him this - he didn't cut me, and I ALWAYS end up with a few cut fingers, so that was a nice change. He also left them longer than I'd like - I gave up after the 3rd request to trim them shorter. The paint job is mostly smooth except for 2 fairly bubbly fingers. He sort of slopped the polish on, so I'm not surprised. Unfortunately it's a light, creamy color, so the bubbles are pretty apparent. The thing is, I'm physically incapable of giving myself a decent manicure, so when I decide I want one, there's a reason I go to a nail salon.There was no upselling or product pushing, which I sincerely appreciated. I also liked how when I tipped on my card instead of cash, I didn't get dirty looks. It was not the worst experience I've ever had, and the prices are competitive, but I wouldn't hold this place in any higher esteem than your average salon. Not a bad experience, but definitely on the meh side. I'm not sure I'll go back, but the place is so popular, I lean towards giving them a second chance. Read Less

Good job. Way too much of a hurry. Will go at odd hour and day next..like maybe on a wednesday at carpool time. Good services. Spa pedi not worth an extra 15 usa dollars. Spa pedi and mani 47$. I will return for the regular treatment for 32$. Read Less
