I should give them a 1/2 star.... I arrived at 8:50 on a Saturday morning (they opened at 9:00 a.m.). There were 3 other ladies waiting before me, but there was one nail Tech, which is Ma, the boss. While Ma did a pedicure we all waited. Close to 9:45 another nail tech arrived and said she had a 10:00 appointment and couldn't take us because the lady couldn't wait last night. QUESTION: why didn't she arrive earlier, she could have. Anyway, when her appointment arrived, she brought in 2 additional clients, who it was said didn't come in with her last night. They were her daughters.  Another nail tech showed up at 10:00 also and said she had a 9:30 appointment and couldn't take us either.  I wanted to leave but since I am a hairstylist I desperately needed my nails done, as they were lifting and would snag my clients hair.   At 11:15 I was still there.  They are located in a plaza where you can not walk and get anything to eat. So they do not open at 9:00. I only came here because I couldn’t make it to my fave salon. I’ve been here before with ok service. It could use a remodel or new carpet at least. Some of the chairs are ripped. The girl who was going to take me seemed annoyed when I asked if they had different colors and also when I pointed out one behind the glass she asked if I didn’t see it on the main shelf... Well, no I hadn’t or I wouldn’t have asked for that one. She told me to wait a minute and disappeared and someone else took me after a few minutes. Fine because I didn’t want her anymore. Brittany is amazing!! I hadn't gotten my hair cut in over a year, because I was growing it out from a pixie cute, so I decided to spoil myself and get the full cut and color. Brittany did a BEAUTIFUL ombre in my Red hair. I was a little nervous about how it would turn out, and was stunned at how amazing it looked after Brittany worked her magic! She took extra time to make sure it was perfect, and the look has lasted months for me! I'm still in love with it. It was fast and I felt she new what she was doing. The color wasn't placed close to my scalp so I didn't look like I had my highlights done after a couple weeks. But the worst was the blow out! You know how your hair feels when you don't wash it and use a flat iron the product makes your hair stiff and hard to comb thew. That's how my hair felt after!!! Then she combed threw it with a vengeance with a teasing comb!! there was more hair on her and my cape then there was on the floor from the hair cut. Horrible! Today was my last time coming here. Beware they will overcharge you. They appear to have gel polish but it's really not gel it is just regular polish in a gel bottle. I know because after they messed up my nails I went to another shop and just as I suspected the polish came off easily with just regular nail polish remover. If you're looking for a good place to get an SNS mani pass this place and go somewhere else. Trust me. The only reason I went to Star Nails was because my usual place closed early because they were in the process of opening a new location. I search salons around me and after going to another salon I decided to revisit Star. I was a frequent customer years ago and figured I'd give them a try as they did a good job with my nails in the past. I was completely disappointed when I walked in and was not greeted. I stood there until someone looked in my direction so I could tell them what I needed done. After waiting for 5 minutes or so the tech that worked on me told me to look through their drawer of powders and pick one. Uh....what?I asked if she had swatches I could look at and she said no they don't have that here. Red flag # 1! Why don't you have color swatches/samples for customers can look at?? Powders do not look the same on the nail as it does in the jar. Trying to make the best of an already bad situation, I showed her a picture of a color I wanted in hopes that she would be able to pick something similar. Fail. Instead of a nude beige, I ended up with a glittery pearly white. Red flag # 2! She did about 4 coats of powder and BARELY shaped and filed them. The end result is a bumpy, uneven surface...... I have been coming here for years have moved to Griffin and continue to come and I have no complaints.  The staff knows me by face and the same tech has done my nails since I was 15 and she worked in South Lake mall. I prefer the in and out service but if my tech is tied up, I have been known to wait for her. I recommend to my friends. Read Less

Went here to get individual lashes 3/20/15 the women in the store were very racist towards me telling me how I was too light to be black and how every black girl has too big butts and boobs. I gets very offended by this but just sat there for a few more seconds  since she was almost finished I got home to see that there was a big pile of glue on my eyelid and they tried to hide it with eyeliner. THIS NAIL SALON IS HORRIBLE!!! MY NAILS LOOK LIKE MY 5 YEAR OLD NIECE DID THEM. I GOT SNS NAILS AND MY EXPERIENCE WAS HORRIBLE.
