This place has some of the most amazing, caring people ever. They do an incredible job every time I go in and truly take their time to make sure you’re happy with what you’re getting. I don't know who is writing these bad reviews, unless it's staff at other nail salons, because I've been coming here for years, and have had nothing but excellent services.  The facility is not "worn down," but is in fact quite updated and nice.  The staff are friendly and competent. First VisitMy regular place was super busy, so i came here. I got a gel mani(same as always). Things to know about me! I'm a nail veteran. I don't play about them. I like my polish extremely close to my cuticle. I always mention this upfront. Now I guess I have to mention I like my whole nail polished...ugh. Not just the middle but the sides too...the entire nail.Removal process-file gel down, soak in polish remover wrapped in foil, put hands in warmer bag(b/c that's makes a difference), then file the gel off! Right file it off. Not take the proper tool and remove it. Use the tool to make your nails short on top of the nail. HmmmCuticles get no respect here. Oh let me just cut ur skin up. If I feel someone cutting my skin, I know they don't know what they are doing.Polish-their approach...just slap it on.Service! Super nice if you aren't specific. I know I am extremely particular about everything. I have learned over the years people hate this(even though I'm paying them). So I know the rules...I have to be over the top with my "pleases and thank yous", when making requests(even though I'm paying them). It's a small shop and only four people were working on Sunday. They started to get busy and that made the lady doing my nails nervous and it showed.FYI the owner did my nails. This place is not for ladies(and fun men) that....umm read between the lines...sigh...The bathroom had a bowl of water on the floor with a spoon in it and something that looked like a Raman Noodle seasoning pack in it. Extremely rude manager and shoddy to average work Depending on who you get. I got a gel manicure here and the color changed to a muddy color within a few days. I came back and asked her to take it off after the fact and she kept insisting it was something to do with the nail color I had on before. She finally took them off and had the audacity to try to charge me for it, embarrassing me in front of the whole salon and their clients. The salon smells terrible, poor ventilation, and long waiting lines, and they often skip part of the pedicure and manicure if they're busy.. I will never be coming back here again. Read Less

I dropped in here for a pedicure.  I won't be back.  The main things that went wrong were:- the water was lukewarm, and the guy doing the job said he'd add more hot water but never did.- The staff person used an exfoliating sponge all over my feet, including the sides, which are not calloused.  After leaving, my foot was stinging and I looked down and saw abrasions on the side of my foot from the sponge.- One of the female staff (manager, maybe?) engaged in a loud 20-minute speaker phone conversation while working on someone's manicure.  - Worst of all, the staff person took his gloves off after the completing my pedicure and placed them in one of the drawers in his storage unit, rather than throwing them away.  That made me wonder, in a bad way.- Finally, when I checked out he asked me if I wanted to add a tip on my credit card.  I think that's a rude question.  People know they can tip on a credit card if they want to.I did tip, in cash, as a sign on the counter requests.  But I won't ever be back. I went in with perfect nails, and asked to have The gel polish taken off. She asked if I wanted them a little shorter, I said okay because them were long. She cut them to the quick unevenly, and kept pressing on the exposed nail bed when I told her it was painful. I said I didn't want the polish because my fingertips hurt, so she brought me the bill. There's still a layer of gel on them and she charged me $17 to destroy my nails. No apology, she just said 'you told me short'. Read Less

Friends recommended this place and it was right before a holiday so I may give them another try. My pedicure lasted about 15-20 minutes total, not a very relaxing experience. I could tell the technician was in a hurry and ready to move on. Read Less

The first time I went to this place I got a mani pedi.  The lady who did my manicure rushed through the process and ended up making me bleed.  They couldn't make it stop and kept asking me if they could glue my cut up?! I opted for a band aid and let her finish my nails anyways.  I thought that maybe it was a fluke and that it would be fine the 2nd time around.  But NO!  The same lady did my nails and skipped the whole manicure part of my gel nails.  She cut my nails and then just started painting them.  I asked her why she skipped my cuticles and she said .. "I already did that and you have dry skin but I'll do it again".  Which was a lie because I am sitting here watching you lady and you totally skipped that part!  She finished painting my nails and then proceeded to cut my cuticles (after the fact may I remind you) and then made me bleed AGAIN! But this time on two fingers.  At one point I even said "ouch please be gentle" but that didn't stop her from rushing through the process.  I am so furious with this place.  It's sad because it's this one lady who is ruining it for everyone who works there.  Unfortunately I didn't get her name but I'll figure it out and be back with that information! I went there for a gel nail removal...so it would be done properly and safely.They advertised a $10 removal. Sweet.First....she used unsanitary tools. I had to ask her to clean them first. She pulled them out of a cosmetic bag and wiped some one else's cuticles off of them as she took my hand. No.Second....worst pain ever at a nail salon. Sometimes it's not comfy, but this HURT!Time to pay. She says it's $20 bc she have me a manicure, too. Well, I didn't ask for a manicure, I thought whatever you were doing was a part of the $10 removal. And THIS is not a manicure. That's acrylic and gel still on my finger tips. I have been here several times, find the women who work here very accommodating - but really a run-down place and extremely poor hygiene. If you get mani/pedis often, you know that those tubs you put your feet in should be cleaned (at least), and/or have some plastic in them - not at this place. For several times, I've not seen them clean these tubs between customers other than a rinse. My last visit this past Sunday was unfortunately when there was a water main break and they lost their water for several days, so everything was poured from some buckets of supposedly clean water. No tubs were cleaned in between customers (I suppose they were preserving water), the towels smelled moldy, everything was hurried. It was a bad day with that water problem, but not untypical of the pretty questionable level of sanitizing at this place.For the price, the service is average, but I have always come back because they are so close to Publix, where I shop, and they are some nice ladies. I went there for the first time today and left this place FURIOUS. The lady (Jenny) who did my manicure was good and took her time with my cuticles but the lady (Cathy) who did my pedicure was rude and rushed through my service and finished my pedicure in less than ten minutes! I just went there today with my 5 year old daughter. It was a Monday around 2 and pretty busy. They quickly seated us together and she even had her own kid chair that was smaller and pink!  We had to wait about 10 min with our feet soaking but not too bad considering we were walk ins. The chairs were new, the equipment was all sterilized and clean. They gave her a child's mani and pedi complete with cute little flowers on the thumbs and big toes for 15$.  They were pleasant and very sweet with her. I had to wait a little longer but they did a good job for 25 bucks. They never tried to upsale me just pleasant and professional. Wow sitting in this business of which I have been coming off and on for some years. I have patronized this business because I've had somewhat of a personal relationship, I may have been blinded to what has apparently been happening over the years. It was subtle things, like when a caucasian customer would come in after my daughter and I. I would notice some how either our chair would not have the water running before others or they were trying to "situate" a place for us to sit together and someone else would get attended to before us.. Those subtle solar plexus moments that you try and convenience yourself were not so. Well today we walked in after, over a year of not utilizing their services to a fairly empty shop, we said hello and acknowledged one another, and asked for our usual pedicures. Moments later 3 caucasian customers walked in and hmm some how not only have they been seated but are being serviced. I have been sitting here for over 20 minutes with my feet in soak. I cannot believe that I've had to ask why I was not being attended. I was told that it's because the young technician didn't know how to do nails and that's why she is only taking off polish of the people who walked in after you. Wow it's sad how they believe my money is less green than the other  customers who don't look like me.Needless to say it saddens me to say I won't be back, I won't finance my own oppression. I found this place on a Sunday and I really like it. I always get the gel nails and a pedicure. The place that I used to go to started lacking in their service so I promised never to go back there again. This nail salon is not a spa, it is however a cut above the rest in terms of attention to detail and the overall quality of the job that they do. No bells and whistles, just a great clean place for a Mani pedi.  I love the job they do on the gel nails, it last a really long time and I have yet to have any issues with them peeling or anything like that. I had to drop my pup at the vet for an hour so I decided to get my post surgical feet pimped out.  I walked in and picked a color since that's what you do. They sat me at the row of empty pedi chairs.  I think they need to save some pennies and upgrade because those bad boys were in horrible shape.  Grimy and smooshed with chipped resin on the arms; it doesn't give you the cleanliness feeling you'd like when someones about to go to town on your feet. Since I was 2 months out of bone spur surgery I told the lady to be CAREFUL.  She had to have the owner relay it to her.  No biggie, but she got a little handsy a couple of times and I leapt back.  Perhaps I should have waited until my big toe was less sensitive. The lady gave a good foot and leg massage and was pretty considerate of the toe during massage time. She also did a great job painting my toenails.  It's been 3+ weeks now and still no chippage.*Moral of the story- new chairs would go a long way...and do your own pedi's until the urge to leap away from the person touching your foot subsides. The pedicure lasts FOREVER, even during the summer. This is definitely a convenience nail salon rather than a full-fledged spa. They always use sterilized materials, and I have been going regularly for well over a year and have never had any infections or other problems. Quite nice for the price. Read Less

Summary: Not magical. Popped in to get a quick pedicure for a night out. Even though they were busy they fit me right in with only a minimal wait for a nail tech. Pedicures here are dirt cheap ($20) and when combined with a manicure it is only ($8), so I conceded to get a mani as well. The pedicure was pretty standard although she pointed to a sugar scrub at one point and not knowing what to do, I shook my head yes, only to find out they charged me later on for that. While I was getting my pedicure, the owner came over and did my manicure. She was very hurried and it ended up being one of the worst manicures I've ever gotten. The polish had overlapping marks and she didn't take the polish all the way to the corners of the nail. But, you get what you pay for I suppose. I would come back for a pedicure if money is a little tight, but definitely staying away from manicures here. Read Less

I don't get my nails done often, but I think I can tell what are clean practices and what are not!Although I was pretty happy with the results (my French mani and pedi), I just felt like the place was really dingy and strange.  The owner Mary would just talk non-stop in Korean (I think), speaking to noone in particular, and at one point, just looking at herself in the mirror and talking a good 3 minutes.  Weirdness!Also, when the lady was fixing up my narsty feet, the buffing block she used looked really old...gross!  She changed the blade for removing calluses right in front of me...so at least I know that is clean, but it just seemed really unprofessional.Anyway, the results were pretty good and I haven't contracted a disease, but I don't think I'll be going back! Mary seems friendly and I've been going there for several months. However, this morning I showed up at 9:00 when they are supposed to be open. I waited for 20 minutes and no one showed up. Went I went by this afternoon Mary at first told me she was there at 9:00 but then said she was a few minutes late and finally said she got there at 9:18. I didn't think it was funny and an apology would have been appropriate. The solar nails are done well by Mary, but the pedicures are pretty disappointing. I'll be looking for another nail salon. I enjoy spending an hour or two at Nail Magic. Having a less than wonderful day? Is there friend you haven't spoken to in a while? Pick her up and go to Nail Magic for an inexpensive, pleasant experience. A manicure and pedicure are $20 total. Oh and boys, I've heard more and more about men having pedicures these days. Maybe skip that afternoon beer with your buddies and go to Nail Magic. If you don't care about your nails, you can maybe pick up some cute girls. Maybe.
