Just left this salon and by far its one of the worst pedicure experiences I've ever had. We should have known it wasn't going to go well when she decided to handle cash in the middle of it and not change her gloves then proceed with the pedicure. My fiance left with a chemical burn from whatever callus remover they use in the "aches and pains" pedicure (we left in more pain then we came in with) and I left with a burn from the ridiculously hot towel she tightly wrapped around my foot. After I told her it was burning and took the towel off myself she decided that putting cocoa butter would help- it did not. She then proceeds to add some kind of cooling gel that would make it better- it DID NOT. With my skin still red and throbbing she then says that my foot was red from my shoes- they weren't when I walked in.. we paid full price for a very unpleasant experience. I went to The Loft today on recommendation from a family friend and I saw a lady named Soon. I normally don't write reviews but I'm purposely going out of my way to review this lady. There is no question that she knew exactly what she was doing the entire time. I went to her for a messy color correction that another salon butchered (blonde highlights). She took her time with the toner and showed that she really cared about my hair and she made me AND my hair feel like I deserved her undivided attention. I will absolutely be making Soon my new stylist. On another note, I really appreciate the positive and friendly energy in this salon. I've been going to the salon for a few years now. Started with a student coupon in the Saver book. Always enjoyed the visits. I had one experience that was not so great with a number of things not go as planned (didn't book enough time for the hair I wanted, stylist passed me off to someone else, my jacket given to the wrong client, etc). It was a good thing I was passed off as my visit was made better by Selene, who was upbeat, charismatic and caring. Never in my life. So rough with my pedicure. I get that accidents happen, but the lady literally scraped the skin on my toe off with a file because she was all over the place with it, made me bleed, apologized and acted like it never happened. She managed to still charge me $37 after that. No offer of a discount, nothing. So, I walk out with a $37 scabbed over pedicure. That should be cute in my sandals. The lady wasn't friendly, shaped my nails different on each hand. Other customers walked in and she began to hurry and left to work on them then came back to tell me my nails were dry already and charge me but my nails weren't dry and messed up. I was in Saturday with two friends. All three of us had gel manicures. We had polish on our cuticles and fingers. In addition to the sloppy work, our nails started pealing within 48 hrs. We found it odd that our nails felt weak when we got in the car. Usually the gel polish makes your nails feel stronger. I rarely leave negative feedback, but I wouldn't recommend this nail salon to a friend. Read Less

I have been seeing Kristen for 5-6 years and I absolutely love her! She is the only person I trust with my very thick hair, and she is also hilarious and so much fun. My boyfriend and I had our first pedicures there yesterday with Ashley B and she was also fantastic! The staff all go above and beyond to make you feel super special. I love Jnails they are all friendly they are clean and sanitary they do an amazing job it'll last A LONG TIME I had my nails done for prom Acrylic and they did not brake off, and then again in summer I got Acrylics with gel and they lasted me about 2 months before I got them redone( I was away on vacation) never broke off the gel didn't peel. They are delicate with their work I was not cut or irritated. They have so many colors in Polish and gels even color changing gels which are my favorite. I went for acrylic tips which was safer for my nails, and the owner said I was too young. If you want tips go to Walmart and get some tips from the brand Kiss. At least no one at Walmart will stop you from getting something you want. OPI is highly famous for their nailpolish and when I got that applied they made it look horrible. I recommend Elite Nails. I've tried this nail salon twice. Only because it is so close to our house. I'm an idiot. Both times I have had smeared polish (why does that happen after letting them dry for so long?) AND shame on me, I have had the older woman wax me twice (eyebrows and upper/lower lip) -- BOTH TIMES (I know, shame on me for going back) she ripped the skin off my face and left scabs. I highly recommend J Nails. They are my go-to place in Cumming. I normally see Lee, but all of the nail techs do a great job. They have a great selection of gel colors in OPI, CND and other brands. They also have a good selection of "regular" nail polish as well. I have never had a problem with wait times during walk-ins, but I avoid going at lunch and at after-work hours. Read Less

I came here yesterday with my daughter for a manicure and pedicure.  I typically go to my favorite salon in Buford but did not feel like making the drive there. The staff was very friendly and the man who painted both my daughters and my nails did a good job. The one thing that was pretty painful was the cuticle removing part.   I actually thought I was going to start bleeding but I didn't.  My daughter wanted polkadots on her toes and I was busy drying my nails and did not see how they made them but I am used to seeing them more perfect looking so maybe they do not carry the dot tool I normally see used.They have a huge selection of polishes for both regular and gel manicures. The place is clean and inviting. They  have a small staff so you may want to make an appointment, because we had about a 15-20 minute wait. I wish they took American Express but they did accept checks. I thought the prices were fair. I did not find them overly priced for what they did. I would probably come back, but anytime I can make the drive to Buford that is my first choice. Read Less
