My first time to this salon. Scheduled an appointment and they took me early. Tina was very pleasant, took the time to explain the difference in product and assisted in locating a color. Gentle, thorough and focused. I've used SNS since last year but can't seem to get more than two weeks without lifting. I'm not picking, promise. Figured I'd try a different location. Probably one of the best nail salons I have ever been to - hands down.  I've been getting full sets for well over 15 years now, and always had to get them filled after 2 weeks, because one would fall off or chip or something of that nature.  When I get my nails done at Essence, absolutely no nails fall off, and I only need to get them filled once a month! For over 20 years, not one nail tech has ever taken the time or care to realize that my cuticles aren’t like everyone else’s. They are sensitive and bleed easily. Good salon and close to home! I am a little surprised that they don't sure beverages like water, coffee or wine. And I caught the greeter/receptionist in the massage chair taking a quick nap. That's very unprofessional so I'm knocking off one star for  that. But they did a great job with my SNS fill. There were a ton of colors to choose from both SNS and Nexgen. I've never been treated with such respect and care at any nail salon than I have here. The owner Cindy is too sweet and listens very well. She got me with Kim and Lee. I have never had someone take such pride in her work the way Kim did (SNS French). She is a true perfectionist! Lee did a fantastic job on my pedi! I searched online for a nail salon near me that was open late and found Essence. After reading the great reviews, which there are a lot of, I went in for a gel manicure. They were very busy but I was seated right away and didn't have to wait, which was awesome! Ally did my nails, she was so nice and most importantly, meticulous. I showed her a picture of the design I wanted and she helped me pick out the colors and made my nails look just like the pic. The salon is super clean, everyone was very friendly, and I could tell that a lot of the customers were regulars. I'm no stranger to getting my nails polished. I understand as a guy, it definitely draws a lot of attention; almost all of it astonishingly positive. With that out of the way, let's get in to the review.I came here with 4 of my friends, one of them was a guy who did followed up my dare as well as his girlfriend's; he has a phobia of nail filers but was reassured when I went with him. We definitely drew a lot of attention from the technicians as well as all the women there. A cougar did hit on me, saying she 'loves a man with polish'. My buddies technician was Jade, and mine was Michelle. They were chatty in a good way. Most of what we talked about was about her daughters, living in the US, and food. She did a wonderful job removing my matte black polish and applying a bronze/gunmetal polish. I was surprised at the quickness of it as well as the price. Usually, I always go to Jsalon in Buckhead. I'm used to paying $50 all the time for gel manicures. This time it was only $28 (no tip added). If I'm in Cumming, I'd go here. Read Less

This place absolutely surpassed my expectations, and they were already high gong in based on previous reviews!First off, the place is clean, nicely laid out, and they have a great ddy l selection of polishes and services! The staff is adopter friendly and will continue to call you by name if you make an appointment (which I recommend if you want good nail art)! I had a lovely experience here. After not having had my nails done for over 5 years, I came here. I recently stopped biting my nails and wanted to protect them while they grow out. Kim took care of me after I waited for a modest 30 minutes. I am not kidding, as they had just reopened the day I went in after a week of being closed due to remodeling. They had regulars with appointments booked for what seemed like every time slot. I appreciated not waiting longer and not just being told they couldn't fit me in. I'm a fan. Came here desperate for a manicure on my lunch hour and found this place in a shopping plaza. Warmly greeted and the manicurist did a really good job. She was very meticulous. My polish lasted 2 weeks without chipping and this was normal polish. When I returned a couple weeks later, the owner actually remembered my name. How is this possible?! I was impressed. The salon offers the typical services of most nail salons but they also have different refreshments including water and soda and also snacks too if you're hungry. The tubs have tub liners! Major plus for hygienic reasons. And another perk? They take AMEX! So all in all I was impressed and have decided to come here as often as I can for my mani/pedis. I LOVE this place!  I have been a customer at Essence for a year or so, but knew (and loved) the owner, Cindy, when she worked at another place.  She left there and I was heartbroken, but I found her and will be a client forever!  She is absolutely meticulous when doing manicures and pedicures.  She takes her time and does not rush, even though they are often very busy.  I have terrible nails and cuticles and always leave there looking great.  The salon is always very clean and everyone there is friendly.  I have never been disappointed by Cindy or any of her staff and have brought several friends to try it.  As for comments about being treated rudely, I have witnessed (on multiple occasions) people showing up late or early for appointments and getting nasty when she couldn't accommodate them immediately.  I see how upset she gets and how she tries very hard to get to everyone as quickly as possible.  What's the point of making an appointment if you don't honor the time you made it for?!  I've never once seen anyone there act rudely toward a client--even when they may have deserved it!  I have never used them for services other than nails, but I see many people who do.  Overall, the salon and everyone in it is lovely and friendly and the prices are quite reasonable.  I would highly recommend to anyone. They are so friendly and people are always commenting on my nails and ask where I got them done. I had been trying out a lot of places with my mom she is in her 80 s and very hard to please a friend told me about essences wow what a wonderful experience got a pillow for moms back and no oder music so low and relaxing. They really take their time always just focusing on you not talking on their cell phones. Well trained and give great massage. I have been going there for years and Cindy one of the owners makes sure you had a great time. We even had a birthday party there before and so nice to children too. My first time at Essence Nail spa and I will never go back. Great place but bad customer service!! I didn't like the color my nails turned out and asked to repaint them a different color and the lady doing my toes was VERY unprofessional - telling me I should have told her before she was done, attitude the whole time, and then telling me the new color was the same as the old one and charging me $3 extra to change it! It does t matter what I didn't like or wanted to change - I'm the customer and its your job to make sure I leave happy! She was so rude and disrespectful - it was before Easter and I a stay at home mom and rarely get to do anything special for myself!
