I have been coming to Unique Nails in Covington off and on for about 5 years. They are very nice when they want your business and when you're spending your money. HOWEVER!!!! IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM, DO NOT EXPECT BASIC CUSTOMER SERVICE OR BASIC RESPECT! I got lashes applied on a Friday, they started coming off on Saturday morning. I went to get them fixed Saturday afternoon . Of course I was met with an attitude because I returned with a complaint. Instead of removing the lashes that were not glued correctly, they just applied more glue!!!? Needless to say, Sunday morning the lashes had come off again. I called to explain. I was asked if I had my receipt (trap #1 - if I didn't, they wouldn't have help me!). When I arrived to the shop, the owner, Phillip, was RUDE as he advised me to go to the back while I tried to explain what we going on. He told me to sit and wait for Nikki, because he doesnt know anything about lashes. Meanwhile, Nikki, who originally applied my lashes, was working on a full set of nails!!! As I asked the owner if someone else could help so that I wouldn't have to wait so long, he walked away with an attitude as he told me that I had to wait for Nikki. THIS WILL BE MY LAST VISIT!!! I don't really know how they received such a high score I went to them today based upon these reviews and I was very disappointed first they don't have a set rate or a package brochure to look at and I herd 4 different prices for the same thing and I had to have them do my feet 3 times and it's not like I have rough feet I do a pedicure every week because I'm in heel all day throughout my work week so my hubby pampers me with this every Saturday but the young lady I normally go to was out sick. So I decided on unique nails never again. If you really want to go and get your toes and feet done without having to constantly check behind they work after every step then this is not the place and not only that I was blessed to learn 5 languages so when I decided not to do a manicure and gold somewhere else the young man began to say inappropriate things and I then had to correct him in a polite respectful manner in his own language and he was shocked and apologized Awful experience on mothers day Read Less

I have been coming to unique nails for about 15 years and I love it! I have never left unsatisfied or disappointed with any of the services I’ve gotten. They are always friendly and do a great job! I have been coming to Unique for a VERY long time.. and I’ve never had a bad experience or a worst as most of reviewers have.. (which is doubt).. Every time I come in, I’m always welcomed with open arms and they are very understanding of what you want, or how you want something done. I come in here EVERY MONTH, maybe even twice a month(just depends) my nails and color last forever.. I always get the gel polish on my nails and toes and never had a problem with them whatsoever.... Philiip & Julie are simply amazing with everything they do. I couldn’t have asked for anyone better. Like I stated I’ve been coming forever, I even used to tan here and still never had a problem with the tanning beds either. I could never go to any other nail salon and get the same feeling and experience.. I don’t have one certain person I would rather do my nails. Everyone there does a fabulous job. **UPDATE** I've been going there 3 years now and never left with a complaint. WELL THAT CHANGED!!! 2 weeks ago my daughter and I got a full set. $30 for my 11 year old and $40 for myself. Today we come in for fill ins. My daughter had 2 nails just pop off so those needed to be replaced as well. The price? $38 for my daughter and $23 for myself. Wait a minute....why the increase for a fill in?? I literally went back and forth with one lady who basically told me I was wrong a...bout what I paid and that they never charge $30. Well I know exactly what I paid, but because they continued to argue and talk in their language, we just won't go back. I'm so disappointed because I loved going there. Every time I go to Unique nails, I have a great experience. They do exactly what I ask and don't try to steer me into something more expensive. If I could give them a 1 (ONE) star I would. Had a pedicure and manicure before my vacation trip. My toes hurt the next morning and ended up getting infected. The nail techs all have attitudes like there paying you to be there and it's soooooo ghetto the people all stare at you when you walk through the door like your an alien and they also put way to much acrylic on your nails causing them to look super bulky they've been in Covington for a long time and that's what makes them think they can just do whatever they need to tighten up Read Less

This was my first time at this nail salon. I went on a Saturday (most resent possible snow storm), which it didn't snow in this area that day. It was a small crowd when I arrived, but as soon as I walked in they began on my medicure and pedicure. First time here it was packed but I was in and out in no time! I got a mani and full set, the guy that did my pedicure was nice and the pedi was quick. I got a full set with white tips I was at the lady in the front when you first walk in to the left, she was nice also all the staff is friendly, I was nicked and cut on some nails a bit, seemed like she was the boss directing walk ins on where to go etc, but it wasn't that bad I'll be back to try other nail designs, I had a good first experience! I would rank this as the absolute worst shellac I have ever had. I asked for 2 individuals that came recommend and neither were available so I got thrown into the mix and had to wait 20 minutes before anyone started on me. I have been a customer of Kims for 4 years. I followed her from another salon because she is so good. However, the salon she chose is horrible. They have no respect for a customers time only the money coming in. I had a 5:30 appointment today with kim. I arrived at 5:15 and she was filling a pedicure bowl for another customer that was not an appointment. When I asked they said they are very busy and can't keep appointments. The wait seemed unnaturally long. I came in for a pedicure, and had to wait almost 25 minutes in the spa chair (which hadn't been cleaned from the previous customer...gross) before someone finally came over to clean the chair and fill it with water. Then I had to wait another 5 minutes or so before someone else came over to start the pedicure. She had to keep stopping to do finish another girl's manicure, which was a little annoying. The lady who did my pedicure rushed through it (I assume to make up for my wait?) but because she rushed, she was really rough on my toes and cuticles, causing one of my big toes to hurt and bleed a little. She also put some of the pedicure utensils in the water where my feet were to rinse them off after she used them on me. Yuck.The salon itself seemed a little dirty, which could have been because they were so busy and hadn't had a chance to tidy up, but a dirty looking salon is not really what you want to see when you are getting a pedicure. I guess they are doing something right, because they were busy, but I don't think I'll be back based on my experience. If I am going to pay $25+ for a pedicure, I want to at least enjoy the experience. Read Less

Unique Nails employees are nice and welcoming. I went in for a full set and pedi. My nail technicians made sure I was comfortable and I was very pleased with my results. However I am only giving them three stars because the prices were so expensive. The full set started at about thirty bucks and my toes were about the same. One star is being generous for this establishment. I was a faithful customer to Unique until the owners & staff became careless, RUDE, sloppy at Mani/Pedi's & lack of appreciation. On my last visit I received the worst Pedicure in my entire life, the nail tech used a razor on the bottom of my feet & the next day I couldn't walk because my feet were soooo sore from the many cuts that were on the bottom of my feet needless to say I got my money back & never returned. One word HOOD, if you like R&R (Ridiculousness & Ratchetness) then this is the place for you. They allow patrons to bring in their kids, which is fine but most of the kids are not well behaved. Another problem- I've always had Julie (The Owner) to do my nails but I guess she got too HOLLYWOOD & she gives lots of attitude if you request her. So I started seeing Tina, who once worked there but she left & opened up her own salon & I followed. Oh & BTW the nail designs are basic & by basic I mean the ordinary lines & flowers.
