I just knew this place would be the truth after seeing it on tv and looking at all the cute nail designs on IG. I decided to finally give them a try today because it is my birthday weekend. I went in and to the left was a bench with pillows. There were paper towels and other trash all over the bench. I was directed to the back of the shop where the gel colors were. On my walk back I noticed the floors were filthy. Then when I got back to the gel colors the smell of fish was coming from the back. Yuckkkk! One of the techs had called two different techs from the back to come service me. No one ever showed. I left and will not return. The place is filthy, unprofessional and tacky. Sooooo, u all know how I get excited about #blackish, Walks into this nail shop and was immediately amazed on the sight of and thought of seeing all people of color, and for the first time, getting my feet done by a non asian... then this happened, the receptionist begin to call different names for someone to come and help me, and noticed that no one was responding and those that did were giving excuses, I even listened to a conversation about who was next or not next to do a pedicure... 😳 So I told the lady that I was about to leave, and that I would not feel comfortable being serviced at this facility... First off as a business owner myself I’d never allow my staff to be so unprofessional. No one has on decent attire or even seem excited to be doing what they love. I could have done my nails myself with the little polish my daughter has to paint her dolls nails with. The nail tech basically scraped the polish out of the bottle leaving my nails streaked and blotchy. Not to mention the salon is nasty . I rarely complain but today I was disgusted. So this was my first time at UVK and my overall experience was great. I LOVE MY NAILS! My wait wasn’t bad at all, the nail tech did an amazing job, and I was out in a timely manner. I was immediately greeted and was asked to wait which was totally fine with me. Literally no more than 10 minutes. I however must agree that it could be cleaner and the atmosphere was a bit “unfiltered” which is why I’m giving my experience only three stars.However my nail tech was great! Like if I could give her 5 stars I absolutely would! I definitely recommend just going in with an open mind and giving them a chance...instead of completely bashing them from jump. I used to be a faithful customer the first few years the shop opened up under a different name and was black owned. The owner knew me and my daughter's by name. I visited the first time since it's been Mimi's and I will not return. Loud fumes, the bowls have been replaced by massage chairs, and only 1 original staff member is there and I didn't get serviced by her. I got some lady that coated my feet in callus remover and it sat on too long and got a chemical burn. I told her my water was too hot and she said it wasn't hot. The best thing to do is get your nails done somewhere else and come here only for the designs. This place is so unprofessional, and they not even good. I went a while back for a regular full set, with regular polish not gel. I showed ms.al a picture of what I wanted, something that was done in the store. She did them so wrong, they were different sizes and shapes. Then charged me 60 dollars. I don’t mind paying, if I’m getting a good job but they were horrible. Went here twice. Customer service was terrible. Never dealt with attitudes such as this. I'm giving you money for your services so I suggest you at least act nice or not say anything at all. Kitt did my nails both times and I liked it but she cut me three times (enough to where I bled). The bald girl with a colorful dye job really had a nasty attitude when her boss told her to file off my old set. They always give their unwanted opinions. Second time I came, I have a short cut and Kitt had the nerve to tell me I shouldn't have gotten it cut so short and I looked weird with it. That's absolutely unnecessary. Unfortunately I would have preferred to give NO stars to Ultra Violet Nail Lounge.  I've actually been wanting to try the nail lounge out since moving to Georgia.  After issues, I even tried emailing the business however my email came back as undeliverable twice.  I usually go to a great spot in Stockbridge, however I wanted to see what this nail lounge had to offer.  Services requested were S&S, pedicure and wax, arrived at 1:10pm on a Sunday.  There were 6 techs & 1 receptionist and 5 guests.  I arrived to an unpleasant receptionist who barely greets you.  I sat for about 10-minute (normal) when a tech came out from the back with a mouth full of food asking me to pick my color.  When I told her I get S&S done and asked to be shown their options she said "Oh she'll take care of you" and walked off.  I sat down when another 5-minutes passed and was lead to a chair with unbearably hot water.  Hot to the point where the tech had to completely fill the remainder of the pedicure tub with cold water!  After that she lets my fee soak leaves and comes back to take the polish off of my toes then leaves the station again!  This time she is gone for a good 20-minutes.  When she returns she just sits there and looks to the techs that are to the sides of her, still doing nothing.  Once she realized that the tech next to me was done taking acrylic off her clients toes, she hops out of my station into that clients chair and begins working on her feet!  The whole time no one is acknowledging me or letting me know what's going on.  Another 10-minutes pass by and I notice that the water is cold and has begun to drain from the tub.  The tub was refilled with warm water, but again I sat, and sat, and sat until finally Kitt came over and said that she would take care of me.  Mind you this whole time I thought I was being serviced by the lady who put me in the pedicure chair.  By this time it was already 2:40pm, and I was over it.  I had been in the shop for over and 45-minutes with not a single service completed!  I told her unfortunately they took too long, asked her to dry my feet and left.  SUCH A WASTE OF TIME!  Do not waste your time or money.  Service means everything and this place lacks it in every sense.  Management needs to make some serious changes regarding how they service and interact with not only their clients, but guests of the salon waiting to be serviced as well.  Fortunately for me I will NOT be returning to give them another try.  I will continue to be loyal to places like I Luv Nails in Stockbridge (678) 846-5977, who are not only talented but focused on Client Service.  For example, after this whole mess of a Nail day, I called and said I would be in, in 20-minutes, explained the services I wanted and was told I they would be ready.  I walked in and was immediately taken to the back for waxing, then brought out and was sat at a chair where the tech was preparing water for my feet to soak.  I was given a water to drink and my nail tech also came with a bowl for me to soak my S&S powder off.  My entire service was complete within an 45-minutes to an hour of arriving.  That's what I call service! Got my nails done 3 weeks ago and began to see some dark color beneath the acrylic and to my surprise it was a fungus. I began soaking my nails off and discovered a fungus on not just one but 3 of my nails. This was the 1st time in 12 years since I have had acrylic nails. The ombré look that I selected required tips and acrylic I was hesitant but they look couldn't be achieved with just gel polish.. My nails were beautiful, which they should've been after paying $60; not including my tip.I spend a lot of money getting pampered but I didn't like how prices aren't posted nor consistent. I was quoted $40. So if you're penny pinching Do Not Go! Also, it's not the place to go if you're in a rush. My sister and cousin got their nails done too, all acrylic. I arrived at the nail salon and stated I didn't have an appointment.  I requested Kitt as her work is impressive.  I was told she was on her way and she would be with me shortly.  Once she arrived, she immediately started on me.  Her appointment arrived and she said she needed to attend to her appointment.  I was ok with it but if management (Pier) wasn't busy on the internet, perhaps he could have said said to me, we can schedule you for a later time.  Pier was not pleasant and displayed an "I don't care attitude."  I don't know the busy owner however Pier is certainly not the individual to represent her brand. Well atmosphere is nice although feels a bit tight in regards to space in between mani and pedi tables. Felt though their pricing was off on services but it seems the artist make their own individual pricing which can be confusing. They don't seem to have All the necessary tools : products for fixing mistakes on job. But I could possibly come back if thee were nowhere else to make an appointment. Their work is pretty much impeccable so you can expect to pay on avg. $50-60+ for a full set. But remember these full sets last 3+weeks. First Experience HORRIBLE, nail tech autumn was 30 min late, unprepared, and unapologetic. We talked about and scheduled my appointment 2 weeks prior. Full set I really didn't want was also HORRIBLE. After a suggestion of the weekend manager I rescheduled for today with Shakira and the normal manager Natasha. Very unprofessional. I came in for a full set and pedicure and was told to sign in. I waited about 35 minutes before leaving. Another girl who walked in after me also left because she her artist was overbooked and could not take her. A nail artist arrived and asked who was waiting for a pedicure. After the receptionist asked me if I was waiting for anyone in particular and I told him no he directed her to a girl who walked in 10 minutes after me to do her pedicure. Ghetto establishment. I was initially hesitant based upon the location however, I liked the nail images posted on the shops social media. I scheduled a 1 o'clock appointment with Mimi who I heard was talented via social media. I arrived at 1 o'clock a little before that, I was not seen until 2:15. Must've been an off day for her I'm not sure but the work was average subpar at best. She took over an hour to do a fill-in, she took down some of my length and never asked me did I want a cut down. I like my nails long so I didn't. I requested coffin shape they look Square. I'm very particular about the shape of my nails, had she taken the time to do it properly perhaps she would have accomplished coffin shape and not given me a square shape. She was conducting an interview -trying to hire an unlicensed nail tech who had just gotten out of school and not even received her license yet shocking , talking about ordering food , ordering food eating food, FaceTimeing several people all while servicing me.  I guess my nails weren't worth her full attention. Kudos for multitasking however it was very rude and unprofessional especially since I didn't even get what I asked for which was coffin shape. A sloppy job, my nails weren't neat, shape wasn't prescice or clean. $60 later I left frustrated and went to the beauty supply store to purchase a nail file to shape my nails the way I wanted them to be shaped. She was too busy to be bothered to fix the errors , she could hardly keep up with her appointments. I'd pass on the shop, they are understaffed, they don't have the appropriate supply to complete the services they claim to offer. They don't stick to their appointment times. Very organized and unprofessional. Also, the shop is small can barely handle the traffic. Very disappointed it was basically all hype on social media I thought I would have really be satisfied with my nails they were average nothing special. I had to go home and reshape them myself.  I wouldn't return nor recommend take your money elsewhere where they can respect your appointment time and actually get your shape on point and not be doing 1 million other things while servicing you. I just wanted to share my experience that I had at your nail salon. I called in and made an appointment on February 25 for 4 pedicures and one full set (3 adults and 1 child). My appointment was set for February 26 at 2 o'clock. When I spoke with the receptionist he was pleasant but when booking the appointments he seemed unsure of the process. I explained to him that there would be 4 of us and I was requesting a full set his response was "well I'll put you down for 3 and then just tell them about the child when you get here." I don't understand why he couldn't just book for all four at the same time and when I mentioned the full set again he said, "yeah just let them know when you get here." We arrived for our 2 o'clock appointment and we didn't receive much of a greeting from staff members. I could see that the shop was busy but just a simple "hello, we'll be with you in a moment", greeting would have sufficed. We sat in the waiting area until a tech approached us (I don't recall her name), she did inform us that she was getting things ready and asked for one person to come back. When I made the appointment for 4 I assumed that we would all be getting our pedicures done together but that was not the case. The tech advised that she was the only one available and that she did not want to overwhelm herself. She wasn't disrespectful but her approach could have been better. I chose to come to your shop because of all the great work I see and I was eager to give you my business. I just think there was a disconnect in communication. I would have rather been told that you guys were busy and to schedule another day. I hope this review gives insight into what can be done in the future to ensure that your salon continues to provide a positive customer experience. I went on today. Definitely not what I expected since my last visit almost two months ago. They changed ownership and now it is a complete club scene instead of a professional place of business. The owner who was half naked, shaking her behind, tits falling out of what was supposed to be a shirt, and inappropriately loud was the most unprofessional one. The music was loud and extremely inappropriate to anyone who has a conscious. It was the worst experience I've had anywhere and know without a shadow of a doubt that I will never return there. Im sad to see the ownship being turned over into such hands. Oh and I get it, it was their grand opening and so its expected that they may want to turn up but not in such a manner. They are off to a bad start with a horrible image. Last two times I brought my daughter and my mother, God knows why I didn't this time. It was completely inappropriate for children. It's been awhile since I've done the whole mani/pedicure thing with girlfriends but a good friend of mine wanted to hang out and this is what we came up with. She's a regular and pretty much knows all the nail technicians. Parking is scarce and they are an appointment only nail salon but t's was definitely worth my while to go here. The decor is eye catching and everyone seems to work well with each other with the system that is in place. Chanel did both my pedicure and manicure. She was patient with all my questions and recommended the best service for my needs. She did a good job in a reasonable amount of time. Although the prices are a little higher than I'm used to I don't mind paying a little more for great conversation along with good work. I plan on returning every 2 weeks. LOVED my first visit here! Had a Citrus pedicure with Leah and it was excellent. Was met at the door by a very kind young lady by the name of Camilla. I didn't have an appointment on a Friday evening and was able to be seen immediately. A Different World (my favorite show ever) was playing on the tv and r&b and hip hop tunes on the sound system. I received a glass of wine during my service and honestly this was probably my best salon experience in a very long time. SO glad to see a black-owned salon exceeding my expectations. Warning: lengthy post.I came with my husband for a pedicure--I had the "classic" for $25 and he was suggested the Man pedicure "active" for $40.  Neither of our nail tech used a callous remover (I can understand mine not having the service added but not his) and neither shaped our nails.  Both Coco and Mary were talkative and came across friendly but neither thought to have asked if we even wanted our toe nails shaped.  When I asked my tech if it was standard that the classic doesn't come with shaping?  She replied asking me why didn't I tell her that I wanted them shaped??  To that; I shouldn't have to tell you how to do your job it's not respectful.I came in specifically for their $50 gel couture nails special which included; full set, shape and gel.  I needed just an overlay and I wanted a design ($10 extra) that I came across another tech's page that worked there but she was pretty busy and I couldn't wait so I let the tech who was already doing my feet do my nails.  Immediately when she laid my acrylic I regretted that decision, but did not want to have her start over.  She did try and kept asking me was I ok with my shape and I explained I liked my coffin shape I already had and just wanted my tips more squared--she made my whole nail square.  We paid $127 in total for services we both were dissatisfied with, but we had to go, there was nothing we could do that day.  I contacted the original tech I originally wanted to see, Kitt, and she assured me she could fix what I disliked the next day.  I was charged $10 for the fix of my nails and I could not be any happier.  I got a next day appointment and she was ON TIME, unlike Nail Shack where I used to go (I appreciate promptness and people who respect my time).  I will continue to support this all black establishment and their services because they are talented and hard working and deserve the fairness of their clients to speak up when dissatisfied because they are eager to make their clients happy! Cassandra was my Nail Specialist and it was like we had been knowing each other for years! Did I mention I'm from out of town? Yaasss!  I will return to UltraViolet Nail Lounge for my nail, eyebrow, and lash care (have not gotten lashes yet, but saw them on my nail tech and loved the natural effect especially.  My first time was yesterday and I truly enjoyed the customer service and atmosphere.  Not certain if the ladies that helped me out names begin with C or K, but Candice, Kassandra, and Nanu Bliss by Kay or Kat were all Fabulous!!  They also have a young man, Eko that does henna work.  There was a little wait and the process is a bit longer, but we don't need to rush our hygienic upkeep anyway. ;-)  LOL.  If you have the extra time, you will be pleased.  Lastly, the complimentary wine was definitely a plus!!  Going back for sure. I made a same day appointment for myself and husband for pedicure for him & mani/pedi for myself. In order to secure appointment a $15 deposit was taken over the phone by a well spoken young lady. Upon arrival we were greeted and told who our nail technicians would be. We were offered orange juice and donuts & I was asked to pick out a color.The receptionist coordinated us to have our pedis at the same time which meant I would get my manicure first. I already knew what I wanted, it was a gel polish I recently viewed on their Instagram page. My nail tech name was Carmen who was very Sweet! She had wonderful welcoming personality. I thought I wanted a Matte gel polish on my natural nails but after Carmen showed me how it looked on my nail, I knew it was not for me! It looks good on longer nails she explained everything she was performing before hand.My manicure was very refreshing the ingredients were organic and smelled edible. The Deluxe manicure included paraffin wax to soften the skin & boy was it so soft. Carmen ended the manicure with a nice hand massage and gel polish application was last. We both received the Orange Citrus Pedicure which involved real oranges and the scrub & lotion again smelled soooo good! My husband's tech was Que in which he stated she was very gentle with his feet. His pedicure was about 30 mins. Carmen was very detailed and must I say she is a Perfectionist! She saw something out of place and she made it her business to get it right. My rating on this business is 5stars. Great Staff, good music. It is on Old  National Hwy right off the exit. I felt pretty safe, the salon door was not left open it was a mag lock buzz entry. Prices are in the same range as Spataneous Nails off Camp Creek Pkwy . I noticed a B I G difference in the experience from the nail shops I've visited in the surrounding area (Camp Creek)I was not rushed, my technicians spoke good English, I was informed of all charges(no surprise fees) I was offered a beverage and snack and I felt appreciated and welcomed!
