Been going for manicures for over 3+ years. A little disappointed that they only do dry manicures. Most of the focus seems to be on acrylic nails and designs as opposed nail care. This is some what problematic for those of us that have natural nails. Even though they do dry manicures, I believe it should involve a little more than just buffing the nails before applying polish! This is the only place I will get my Nails done! Everyone does amazing work but Ray is my go to lady! She really takes her time and does amazing detail. I am more of a glitter and rhinestones girl and she has an amazing eye for placing stones in beautiful patterns that last for 2+ weeks. I love that she is so timely with her appointments because it ensures you are never sitting around waiting for an hour. So I am sure to some it may be an inconvenience if you are late to an appointment and have to reschedule; however, for other clients who have appointments it allows us to be able to keep our personal schedules as well. One last thing to note is that Ray always keeps up with the latest nail trends so if you have a vision, she will always have a suggestion to help you bring it to life. Worth every penny! Read Less

I've been going to Poochiez Pawz Nail Salon for over 2 years. My nail tech is RayBaby. The salon has talented techs that are very professional. The atmosphere is friendly. I haven't had or witnessed any issues there. They are by appointment but if you call or walk in and if someone has availability, they will accommodate. I am very particular about my nails and have been to different places, I've never been more satisfied. Side note: They offer pedicures but the chairs are not spa chairs and they don't look comfortable. That is a definite work on for this location.Read Less

My gel polish from my gel manicure began to peel the day of. The rest of the polish was gone within 4 days. Never have I witnessed anything like that so it's gonna be a NO for me dawg! Not necessarily an "upscale" salon. But its definitely a clean and regular looking salon. I went for a gel manicure and a pedicure. I was late comong from work and forfeited my deposit. Obviously, that policy I am not a fan of. But its my own fault because I thought I made my appointment at 6pm but it was at 5:30. My nail tech had already left for the day considering I was 30 minutes late. They called her and I told her I messed up my appointment time. She actually came back with no problem and did my service! I appreciated that more than she knows because I had an event that evening. Overall, my services turned out great. Just be on time! Lol I understand why the policy is in place and it makes complete sense. She took a little long on my mani/pedi but my nails are very short and takes some extra care. I have been coming here to Ray (@NailsbyRayBaby) to get my nails done for two years. I make my appointments every two weeks and come to see whats the latest nail trends. That's one of my favorite things about coming here is that the staff is always learning new techniques and they are up on all the hottest trends for your nails. I absolutely love my nail tech because she puts so much care into my nails from the acrylic overlay to shaping my nail the right way. The acrylic is never to thick and bulky and she buffs my nails to perfection! I also love that I can give her some ideas about what I want for the week and she can work her magic and come up with a creative design that fits my personality. My favorite part is the laying down of the bling. She has some sort of gift when it comes to placing stones so that they pop with your Nail Color! She knows how all the stones will reflect off one another and that gives my nails the extra pop. Worried about stones falling off? It just doesn't happen. She makes sure they are there to stay. I ended up making an appointment with Robbie after finding her on Instagram. Since there is a cash only policy, I went in first and asked how much my nails would be so that I got the correct amount (I hardly carry cash on me). I was told it would be 45 total, not including my deposit of 20 bucks - which would be 25. Pulled out 60 ( was getting my toes done as well). Everything was great, nails were done beautifully. She then said my total for her was 55. Well..OK. I assumed she made a mistake with the calculation and went on over to get my toes done. Once i was all finished..i paid the lady for my toes 30 bucks (25 plus tip) then proceeded to pay Robbie the same. She said again it was 55. I said I did not take out enough to cover that amount - as i was initially told my nails were 45. I have no idea where the additonal 10 came from all of a sudden. Please note that I did not deviate from the original design i asked for in any way. I then told her I could pay the difference by credit card if possible. She told me she is not running my card for just 5 dollars (she didn't realize the extra 5 was a tip). LOL ok! Of course after this exchange, that nice chipper demeanor was out the window. I was beyond upset and ended up leaving with wet nails. I am not cheap and I pay for all my services with no problem, however, this little stunt left me confused. Love to support my black owned salons, but I will not be back.If you are looking for an upscale spa like experience, this is not the place.
