I have been a frequent customer of Luxy's over they past couple of years and over the past few months it has progressively gotten worse and worse. I went in with my mother to get a manicure and a pedicure and it was the worst experience we've ever had. The staff was rude and abrasive from the moment we sat down. One gentleman in particular treated my mom horribly. It was uncomfortable being a customer in that environment. When my mom's pedicure was finished she was walking to the table for a manicure and her one toe rubbed her other nail and messed up the color. When she asked him to fix the color he huffed and acted like it was such an inconvenience to fix the color. Next, the manicure... He applied two coats of color but there were still streaks in which you could see the bare nail underneath! She asked the nail technician to add another coat of color to even it out. His response was so condescending and unbelievably rude that my mom and I were actually dumbfounded by his reaction. She asked again for another coat which he finally applied. Finally, as we are waiting for our color to dry another staff member came up to my mom and told (not asked) her to move because they needed the table for another customer. She wasn't given another option to dry at a different station she was just told to get up and move. Meanwhile, I was never asked to move and there were multiple open work stations available. When we addressed our experience with the manager, she seemed unfazed at the way her staff treats customers. So disappointing. Have been looking for my new "forever" nail place. Found it! Higher on the price side, but so worth it. The massages last a good long time, and so did the polish! Even at nicer places its chipping in 3 days, lasted more than a week on me. Plus i liked the inside. They didnt "just pain the walls" it didnt look like a cheapo place. Go here! Read Less

I do not reccommed this place. The people employees are very abrasive and rude to say the least. I work in the servive industry, as well as getting my nails done for 20+ years and i have never experienced such service. I took my daughter there to get her nails done for prom. She is 16 and we do this every year for her dances. We recently moved to Yulee and decided to give this place a try. The nail tech was rude to my daughter the entire time making comments to her about her nails and cuticles. Then i asked if she could do a design on her ring finger since it is her prom. The lady told me no, that her nails are too short, which i made it known that I have short nails due to my occupation and i always get a design. The lady refused to do anything including something small and simple and she was very rude about it. I am a nail biter myself and always get gel nails that are short with a design. I have never in my life heard of place that couldnt even draw some lines or a simple design. I left there baffled by our experience with a dissappointed child that should not feel the way she does. She says she nevers wants her nails done again, because of how bad the lady made her feel. I have never written a review for anywhere unless it is good, because I believe in recognizing the good instead of the bad. However, my experience was so terrible that I feel like I should warn people especially mothers who bond with their daughters over getting their nails done, before they consider this place. I don' t even believe this place deserves 1 start although i do take into consideration that everyone has a bad day. Regardless, the tech could have allowed someone else to do my child's nails if she felt the way she did. Made a 3:30 apt and walked into standing room only?? We put our name on lost with our apt time and nothing happened . 20 minutes later after being told how busy they are i sat for my pedicure. Unlike the other reviews that I have read this place is very good. They do a nice job on my nails and at my feet and I appreciate it. They had a little issue in regards to knowing the difference between American pink and white and French pink and white but they figured it out and my nails look beautiful each time. Read Less

Horrible. Worst customer service ever. Would not speak to you at all but constantly speaking in their own language. Left me sitting with acetone on my gel this for 20 minutes. I had to yell for them to actually start my pedicure. They did not offer any of the cute designs but wanted to ripp your lips off for charging you a pedicure at $45. I actually have been coming here for no good reason other than the convenience of location. truthfully they are using sub par product, They over charge quite often with no explanation, and then if you say anything no one understands english. I hope they get shut down for stealing peoples hard earned money. I've gone here so many times and have had a moderate to great experience. I went today for a manicure and was so upset. The basic manicure, which I asked for is $13. I know gel/shellac is $5 more, but was charged $25, with no explanation. The technician didn't talk to me the entire time, I was not offered ANYTHING to drink (and I am HEAVILY pregnant), and for that price, I would've expected a hand massage or something with a smile. I'll probably go back another time or so to see if there is any better consistency, but this was supposed to be a special outing before my baby is born. So disappointed. Read Less

I have gone to Luxy nails twice a month for the past year. Although it was never great, it is around the corner from where I live. I went today for a mani/pedi. Sam took care of my nails, but was unable to do my pedi as she had another appt. The woman I had did not speak much English. She cut the side of my toe with the cuticle clippers, ouch in any language can be understood!!!! She acted like nothing happened, even though I was bleeding onto the towel! As I was leaving I wanted the owner to know in case it became infected. So she had Sam translate. The owner said I had a swollen toe whatever that is and dismissed me. The problem with that is I know she speaks English just fine, After getting home I became more angry, I called and asked for the owner, she answered in ENGLISH! I told I was reporting her and writing this review. I told her I just wanted her to know what happened but because she treated me like crap, she gets this and my bill form urgent care. I found this salon by reading reviews so I thought I should leave a review! I went in on a Friday with one of my girls, and boy was this place busy! Great atmosphere! I asked for Dana, since a lot of the reviews I have read have been on her. I had to wait 40 minutes, as was expected because they were so busy! Everyone at the spa was really nice, and they all tried to take turns greeting people as they came in and out. My daughter and I both wanted full sets. I got pink and white, and because the spa was so busy, I asked if she could go ahead and do my daughter too since she was right next to me. Dana explained she couldnt take care of her unless it was a request or it was her turn. which I didnt understand. Anyway; it worked out that Dana could take care of both of us after she asked her boss, and while taking care of my daughter when I was finished, one of the Asian girls that sits in the corner asked Dana what she charges for "glitter tip" which is what my daughter was getting. After answering this girls questions, she rudely asked why Dana was taking care of both of us, and then looked at her work. As a business owner It really upset me to see another coworker treat someone that works with them this way. her demeanor was terrible! I asked Dana if that was her boss, she said that she was just a coworker. She didnt shed much light on the situation although I could tell that this girl was really picking on her. Over all my nail experience at Luxy with Dana was AWESOME, and so was my daughters. It says alot about someone who doesn't loose their cool when someone else is really giving them a hard time in front of their customers. Must agree that I had a great nail experience at Luxy. my girlfriend and I went to luxy for pedis, I got a full set and Linda got gel.. both american girls took care of us. I had Dana...and I must say, (not that I didnt think she knew what she was doing, ive just never had an american take care of me, its always been Asians ) but she gave me the best pedicure Ive ever had. Removed a toenail that was giving me terrible pain..without me even flinching...When we walked in, we thought the american girls were just front desk workers, both very friendly, and took us back right away. Linda had Naomi, and couldnt say enough good things about her. As for my full set, I had pink and white...its been 3 weeks....I am due for a fill..but not one has lifting. I am completely impressed and thrilled to find two american girls in a foreign shop that offer such great services! BEST NAIL EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD. Naiomi (the American female) did an AMAZING job on my shellac manicure and spa pedicure (which was only 22$!) she took her time and made every detail perfect. I have had my nails done by several places but this was the worst I've ever had. If I could only post a photo. The entire time my husband and I were in there this little 18 year girl who has 0 training on how to do nails did mine. She also talked our heads off about how we were wrong about anything regardless the subject that she would bring up; I could handle that though. My nails were cut way to short, uneven, and I'm pretty sure my 5 year old could paint my nails to look more professional than this girl did who might I add was using Pintrest to learn how to paint nails as she was doing mine. Last week I went to Luxy for a pedicure and gel polish, as said below certain nail techs are better than others, but this was terrible. I think it was "Naomi" that took care of me, the salon over all was nice and clean, but I question my nail tech. Dressed completely unprofessional, was loud and talked to me for over an hour about how she is attempting to lose weight to join the army. I had no chance to sit back and relax. She also did my gel polish, which came off in two days. Overall my previous experiences at Luxy were great up until this last time. My first visit to this spa was excellent. I was surprised to have an American girl take care of my pedicure, nails and my eyebrow wax. Extremely friendly, offered me a beverage and gave an excellent massage. She took her time even though the pedicure chairs were filling up, which I really appreciated. All of the staff was very friendly, and the spa was incredibly clean. Kudos to Dana, and the whole Luxy nail staff! I've found my new salon! Read Less

As with any nail salon, certain techs will be better than others. Likewise, whether customers bring kids along and what time it is can affect the 'spa' atmosphere. Sometimes it is quiet and relaxing. I decided to stop in for a pedi while on vacation. The atmosphere at the salon is really nice. It was early in the morning so it was not very busy, one lady getting a pedi when I got there. They have a really nice selection of polish colors, much more than some salons I have been to. The young lady that did my pedicure took her time and did a really good job. The polish ( a lovely bright pink) was applied flawlessly , and afterward she kept coming by the drying stand to ,check on it. Not a good Spa. Bad experiences on both visits to the spa. My first visit: A gentleman took care of me and talked constantly about his relationship problems and bad driving history. My nails were overly filed down and sore. My second visit, I requested the Manager to wait on me & she acted offended that she was requested. Hurried through my pedicure and manicure and left before she was finished....she didn't even put on the polish. The salon itself is new and has ample chairs, however must are filled with crying and talking children waiting on their Mom's. Everyone was very nice and its a very clean salon. However, I was highly disappointed with my manicure. They're under staffed and I waited 30 minutes on my visit after being told it'd be a 5-10 minute wait. After waiting 30 minutes I was told it'd be another 45 minutes so I made an appt to come back 2.5 hours later and had to wait again 15-20 minutes after my scheduled appt. time. My nail tech barely trimmed my cuticles, didnt file or shape my nails without being asked, no massage, no parafin wax and she didn't apply a base coat before polishing. Read Less
