I had been going to the same name lady for years and when she stopped doing nails I was in search of somewhere new, having tried several nail technicians (Lisburn Road area) and being left very disappointed with poor quality acrylic nails I found Violet Nail Bar! I have now been going to Han for several months now, and I am extremely happy with my nails each visit. Each nail is done to perfection, the acrylic is applied evenly and not too thick. I called the nail bar yesterday and asked to book an appointment for Wednesday. I was told Wednesday was fully booked so asked did they have any free appointments for Tuesday. The lady said I could come at 9.30am on Tuesday and she could fit me in then. At 9.30am I was standing in the rain waiting for someone to come and open up. When they arrived the lady ( who I had spoken to on the phone yesterday) told me I did not have an appointment that she was fully booked and she wou...ld never have booked an appointment for 9.30 am as they don't start until 9.40am. She then waved her appointment book at me showing me that I was booked in for Wednesday at 9.30 and telling me I had got it wrong. I might have believed her too, only I've been in the salon before when other customers have come in for appointments they have booked only to have the book waved at them and told they were wrong aswell. The most noteable occasion was in June when a bride and her bridesmaid showed up for manicure and pedicures which the bride had booked months in advance. She was getting married the next day and the owner just told her she had not made an appointment, she flicked through her appointment book to " prove" the woman had not made appointments and they were too busy. The poor woman was understandably upset. The nail bar is also very expensive in comparison to other beauty salons and nail bars so if you want to pay more, and you are happy to run the gauntlet and hope they have actually written your appointment in their book then go ahead. I can't praise Han highly enough, I had my nails done by Han last November when over from mainland and she did such a fantastic job that I have come back. You definitely get what you pay for. My nails are overlaid to keep them strong and they are perfectly thinned. I struggled to find a technician of this calibre back home. Read Less

The young lady who did my gel polish was friendly and welcoming however , I got French and already I can see a darkish line .... Also I was charged £26 for a gel polish to be applied when I suggested it was rather expensive I was told the white tips on French polish is £3 extra !!!!! I find it very expensive and also feel the lady who owns the shop quite impatient and opinionated .... Also I do not like when she communicates in a foreign tongue to her work colleagues as this is an English speaking country and it can be quite rude ( just an observation ) to keep in mind..... When your in a country that the language is English then this is the language that should be used when dealing with members of the general public or at least when they are present. Read Less

I have visited this nail salon chiefly due to the fact that you don't seem to need to make an appointment & therefore it was convenient. I felt the nail technician was impatient whilst I was choosing the colour I liked and she also struggled with the oval shape which I usually have my nails filed offering only either square or pointed. I had a set of acrylic tips applied and colour and was charged £43!!!!!!! I have visited many salons before and I have never been charged any...where near this price for exactly the same if not superior service! Got French tip gel nails and the "white" tips turned out an orangey colour with dirty bits on them. It may have been the top coat that caused the discolouration. I got them done 8 days ago and they're already chipping off at the corners. Read Less

My daughter went for the first time here for a gel polish. Never again a complete disaster. Not only did the fella not understand her he didnt know the difference between her own nails and acrylic tips and went ahead and cut her nails and as a result had too put acrylic tips on to make them the same length as her own nails were originally in the first place and charged her £38 to ruin her nails BE WARNED.. Update: Update: I ended up with an infection on 2 of my nails. Green and cloudy. The overlay was not applied properly and water seeped in between the overlay and my nail. Even though I showed you the fill was coming off..you did the overlay instead of soaking off the build. Big no, no.This would have been a 4 star review. Very friendly staff and I got to catch up on my soaps. I paid $25 ($23 actual price) for a gel fill on my natural nails. I no longer need fake nails as my real nails are long enough for this overlay. The tech I had made my cuticles burn. I was expecting the typical tools used to push and treat cuticles and did not see them. He chatted me up during this process. Now the second time I was asked to wash my hands, I asked "with or without soap"..he said "whatever" then quickly said without. That's a star taken off. The second star was taken off because I received no oil on my cuticles. I was not offered oil or lotion. Nor did I see any available. Most likely I will not return because I work with my hands and also do reviews where my hands are the focus. I do like the results but there was no after care from all that buffing. I do believe I will continue to look for a shop that will do my nails for under $20. I didn't get a manicure...just a fill of gel on my natural nail. Read Less

I had gel polish applied to my nails a few weeks ago and I have had so many compliments! The colour is still really glossy and I haven't had a chip or any lifting yet even though I'm really hard on my hands! The staff are so lovely and I've already made my appointment to go back! Read Less

Everyone was very sweet but it was not the best pedicure. It was more like a foot bath and a Polish. I like a more aggressive pedicure. I've definitely had better. Especially for that price. But they were all very nice people. Read Less
