I loveeee the French tipped pedicure I got from this quaint little family run establishment. The woman who did my pedicure (the "mom" of the shop) didn't speak English but she definitely knew what she was doing and gives an amazing much-needed foot massage too. For context, I came on thanksgiving eve because I had recently done a 12 mile run, wear tight close-toe shoes all the time, have brittle weak toe nails that I neglect for 364 days of the year and I finally realized that my poor unkept feet will be privy for all my family, friends, and strangers to see at the Thanksgiving party the following day. So after a quick google search, I had the fortune of deciding on this shop because I honed in on the family-run aspect and the positive reviews. So here's one more positive review to tack on from a very satisfied customer!  My feet have never looked nor felt better. Pinky is a hidden gem! I struggled finding a great place to get my nails done. Not only is it very clean, Pinky and her staff do amazing work! I travel for business and I love that I can push my gel set to 3 weeks without a fill and it looks like I've only had them for a week! The quality of work is truly phenomenal and it's an added bonus that their prices are one to beat! Terrible Customer  service. Can only Assume because I was NOT white. You say hello then look me up  and  down then turn me away and ask to come back a couple days later because they were busy. Pinky is the BEST. I came for SNS dip powder. She asked if I liked my snails square or oval. When I said square she then asked wide or thin (never been asked this before. She also asked if I liked the SNS thicker or thin. She was extremely attentive, sweet, and caring. So glad I found this gem. Read Less

I've never had my nails done prior to coming here but I believe this place will set the standard from here on out. I was accepted without an appointment and everyone there was very kind and professional. I had the basic mani/pedi with a callous treatment done and it was very relaxing and enjoyable. I absolutely love this nail salon! It's a small family owned shop. The customer service is outstanding. Pinky is very gifted and knowledgeable about nail care & trends. I stopped by for a mani and a pedi. They have amazing staff and great customer service. They did my mani and pedi at the same time to save me time and they went above and beyond by giving me a massage and putting my shoes in a bag for me. I am so glad I stopped in today. Read Less

I haven't had my nails done at a salon since the late 90's. I remember the terrible smell, dusty flying everywhere, and feeling like everyone was talking about me.. which is probably why I haven't stepped foot in a nail salon since. I was admiring my friends mani when she came to town and sadly looked at my own neglected hands. I knew I didn't want acrylics and I had heard that the gels can be damaging during the removal but I wanted something that would last a couple weeks, another friend told me about SNS nails and after some internet researching I decided it sounded perfect for me. I had 3 salons picked out and decided that Elegant Nails was standing out to me. I walked in not sure if they would even have an open slot - thankfully they did :D The salon is clean and doesn't smell at all like I remember nail salons smelling like in the 90's, everyone is friendly and welcoming which was amazing since I had NO idea what to ask for. I was in the area and new at that. So I hopped on Yelp and found this cute little spot ! The smell is natural and not overpowering like most salons. It was well unkept and clean. As far as the staff, Pinky (the female owner) made me feel right at home along with her Husband, who actually did my nails depicted below (pink matte stilettos). He got my shape just right and was fast but gentle. For a first timer, they made me feel like a regular. I will continue to have my services here. Relaxing pedicure.. well that's not what we got. Make and appointment and have about and hour for just a pedicure if you come here. After waiting an hour, getting in one of the 4 chairs they have, waiting another 10 minutes I finally started my pedicure. My friends didn't start until after mine was finished. I was looking for a manicure/pedicure and was in the area. I had never been to the salon before but figured - why not? I am so glad that I came to this salon for a manicure and pedicure. First, you walk in the salon and it doesn't smell of nail polish, acetone or chemicals. It smells of great incense and candles. The staff leaves the door open for a wonderful breeze. You can actually breath in the salon and don't leave smelling like chemicals. I was impressed from the moment I walked in.Second, it was the most meticulous pedicure I've ever received in my life. My feet have never looked so wonderful or so well groomed. Their chairs were super comfortable and very clean.Third, I have had manicures my entire life but I've never been to a salon where the staff knew that I was a new customer simply from how my previous polish came off. I did not know but the owner of the salon was painting my nails and she instantly knew the work I had previously was not her doing. This impressed me greatly. You must really know your craft to notice such subtle differences. I would definitely recommend this salon. My nails look beautiful and I've received many, many compliments. I'd like to start by saying, had I made an appointment with Donna, I'm sure I would have given five stars. I was really encouraged by all the positive reviews. However, below is my experience:I needed to get my nails done desperately and saw I sign on Elegant Nails' front door that said "Walk-ins Welcome!" I thought to myself, "perfect!" I walked in, was greeted nicely and told somebody would be with me shortly. Twenty minutes went by.... Thirty minutes went by... Finally a gentleman with a dragon tattooed on his neck (I didn't catch his name, so this is how I am identifying him) told me to have a seat - great! I sat there for twenty MORE minutes while another technician proceeded to play candy crush on her iPad while waiting for her next appointment to come. Finally, 50 minutes after I walked through the front doors, the man invited me over to his station. Now, I understand that I should have made an appointment, however, the sign did say "walk-in's welcome." The sign should have read "walk-in and be prepared to wait."He finally got started. I requested a gel manicure. He seemed very rushed and moved through the process very quickly. I could tell that my nails were not being kept under the UV lights for long enough (just by having experience with gel manicures at other shops). Sure enough, my left thumb nail didn't take to the gel. He had to start over from scratch on my thumb, which resulted in scraping off my cuticle until my thumb was literally bleeding. He had to put two different types of alcohol on my thumb for the bleeding to stop - OUCH!He started over on my thumb with the base coat and I said "maybe we should leave it under the light longer?" "No" he said "all the other nails are okay." Sure enough, the second time around, my thumb STILL did not set properly. Finally on the third try, my thumb set, though there are ripples in the gel due to his hasty application.It is now one week later and my nails are already peeling up on the ends (they started peeling up only a few days after the manicure). Gel application is supposed to last at least 2 weeks. Had I went with a technician who had more patience, my experience at Elegant Nails would have been much more positive. I'm not a girly girl....so when my mother in law and I went I read a review and was like "why not?" The places my friend recommended had terrible ratings. Then I read about this place. OMG...lavendar massage oil and lotion blended and massaged into legs. A quiet atmosphere with dimmer lighting, everyone is very nice and speak so gently and softly. This place is not like other salons where a t.v. is on or some radio station with bright industrial lighting. They give an incredible massage from feet to knees. The massaging/heated chairs were fabulous. You fall asleep as they massage your legs. The best part, they do your nails as you sit in the chair. I only had mine buffed. Love this because other places they move you from one chair to a different chair. Not here, you are pampered and they are so nice and respectable in their business. Smiles and warm welcomes. I made an appointment and walked through the front door and was greeted by, "Hello Ms. Katherine", as the owner was massaging another clients legs. + :). Elegant Nails is located in tiny, tiny free standing building off Aloma, across the street from the Whole Foods in Winter Park. The parking lot is shared with the small dry cleaners next door. I was treated to a pedi here by a friend who had raved and raved about her experience. I walked into the tidy shop and was greeted by the owner who quickly seated me in the last available chair. Happily, my friend finished with her eyebrow waxing and was ready for her pedi just as the gal sitting next to me was leaving, so we were able to easily chat and enjoy our pedi's together.Pedi chairs were very nice massaging chairs. Chanel was wonderful, taking care with my cuticles and giving me a great massage. Great polish job and I left with very happy toes. Cannot beat the prices, great service. I'm guessing that is why the place was completely booked with manis and pedis the whole time we were there! Read Less
