Just had the most wonderful pedicure to start my "day of me"! Had the Elemental Nature pedicure with Taryn, and it was incredibly soothing. She was super friendly and made me feel really great. I love Aveda salons-- they always have the best stylists and Gary Lambert Salon is no exception. Every time I have been here they have given me exactly what I wanted and my current stylist will be honest enough to talk to me about what will look good with my face shape/hair type when I want something that just won't quite work for me. Wow!  I visited Gary Lambert Salon on vacation when I decided I needed a pro stylist to fix a bad cut and gets some subtle highlights for a new look. My Stylist, "AMY" is as good as they get.  After an unrushed consultation, we came up with a plan and she delivered.  This cut and color was a 5 even without the amazing shoulder massage.  She even wrote out detailed instructions for the personal maintenance of my new style.  It's pricey though, so go if you can afford the best  ;-) Read Less

Gary Lambert's salon is located on the south end of Park Ave, in Winter Park, about a block up from where Park Ave hits Fairbanks. I was here recently for a friends spa party, it was my first visit. All of the salon staff were very friendly and welcoming, the vibe was fun and festive. Gary personally attended to all of the spa party guests while finishing up his clients for the day. The salon specializes in hair cuts and colors but has treatment rooms for expanded spa services. Each of the gals had a great time and I enjoyed picking up some needed Aveda products while waiting for services. If you are looking for a fun GNO, I would book a spa day or spa party here! I wish they had a zero star review! This is the WORST experience I have ever had and SEAN must have gotten his training in the back of his trunk. The color was awful, the hair cut atrocious and after being told one price during my consultatin, I was charged $300 dollars for a color which would have been better coming from a box since it was pitch black. It has been a nightmare. I only went because of the Aveda color. I showed him a beautiful color of a light golden brown picture. I was in tears, because obviosly this man has no clue what he is doing. When I called back and told him how upset I was, Sean had absolutely no remorse, said that's the exact color I had asked for. I will stick to my other Park Avenue Colorist, no doubt. This is the snobiest place I have ever entered and the most outrageous! I really don't know how in the world they stay in business. I am sorry I had to give this salon one star, because it does not even deserve that. I had shoulder length hair and asked for a trim and came out with hair so short I may as well be a gym teacher. He wacked at least 4 inches off (already above shoulder length hair) it is so unbelievably short my husband's first words out of his mouth were, ""What was he thinking?!"" Sean (the hairdresser) had absolutely no remorse, no words of comfort or assistance. To add insult to injury it was a very expensive haircut around $100, however, I would pay 10x that amount to have my hair back. I really do not recommend going to Sean. Read Less

I have been a client of Gary Lambert Salon & Spa for a little over two years now.  It was a serendipitous chain of events -- I was not pleased with the way things were going with my stylist at the time, felt like she was more interested in telling me her woes and her life activities, and paid very little attention to what I had said about my hair. So -- I'll make it a very abbreviated story -- I had made a charitable donation to a local cause, which also entered me in a drawing, for a cut and style at the Gary Lambert Salon in Winter Park. And lo and behold, I WON!! I was traveling extensively, and was out of town almost non-stop, and wasn't going to be able to use the certificate before its expiration, but ZINGO, they authorized an extension. My first visit included an extensive evaluation of my hair condition, suggestions for color and for cut. I felt comfortable giving the stylist poetic license. I was SOOO pleased with the results, that I made an appointment right then and there, to return. I've been returning ever since. I should add that I don't live in Winter Park, and my drive to the Salon is nearly 40 miles, one way. It's worth it.Shawn Hunt is my stylist. He creates a cut for me that I can do, with ease, on my own. Because I lead a very active life, I can't fool with my hair for half my day -- I want something fast, perky, complimentary, and easy. I want to look as good when I wake up on the airplane as I do when I leave my vanity. And that's what Shawn creates. He makes sure I understand all the procedures, and welcomes my questions, as well as my input on what I'd like accomplished. But I have such confidence in him, I basically tell him to "go at it"!! I'll admit I totally enjoy all the compliments I get on my hair, and always truthfully credit Shawn, and the Salon, for my great look.I hesitated, in the first sentence, when I typed "client", because I don't feel that way when I arrive. They all act like they've been waiting for my arrival -- really makes you feel good, that they know your name, and were even aware you were on your way in!!  I enjoy their comradery, count them as dear friends.... and being pampered with fresh coffee or tea and a neck massage ain't hard to endure!!Note: It also means a lot to me that the Salon, as a business, is very involved in the community, supports local charities and the arts, and is involved in many professional shows and events. The salon is convenient so I thought I would give it a try. The staff was not particularly friendly and it felt stuffy. Sean gave me my cut and it was just ok. Living in Winter Park I have passed the Gary Lambert Salon many times but always thought it was too expensive for me, which it is. Late last year I found out that on Wednesday and Friday they give half off of a cut and style. With a cut and style ranging from $56-$88 depending on the stylist, the half off makes it much more affordable. I've seen Anna three times now and she is great. Everyone on staff is really friendly. They start you off with a neck massage before they wash your hair and it's an Aveda salon, so the products are mostly natural and as close to organic as possible. When they ask you what you would like to drink, say the tea. The Aveda tea is so good that I paid $14 to buy a box of 20 bags. Read Less

I've never had such a great experience at a salon in my life! Chelsea was so attentive and so gentle that I literally fell asleep. She began with a thorough skin analysis and determined the needs to my skin. As she was treating me to my facial, I felt very relaxed and totally forgot about the stresses in my life. I was not happy with this ""posh"" salon. My appointment was for a facial which had been cancelled several times by the tech. I arrived on time, was not acknowledged till 10 minutes later, only to be advised that the person I was scheduled to have a facial with did not show up. I was then asked if I wanted to do something else. I opted for a hair color but ended up spending twice more than expected and I only received an ""apology"" so to speak, and that was it. I absolutely LOVE this salon! The prices are high, but the quality and personal attention is well worth it! I hsve gone to every stylist there including Gary And the quality is fantastic. Maybe there was some truth to some of the bad reviews on here because NOBODY besides the 2 owners are still there. I live in Kissimmee, which is probably about 45minutes away from Gary Lambert's. But the drive is definitly worth it. As soon as I walk in I am greeted my the receptionist (who knows me by name) and then offered refreshments. I have been going to Gary Lambert Salon for several years, and the quality has been consistently declining. The setting is nice, the Aveda products are wonderful... but the stylists are TERRIBLE. There is no one at the salon (except maybe Gary) that has any quality experience in hair color, cut or styling. The last girl that cut my hair gave me the worst cut I have ever experienced - uneven and without any sort of style (although when I came in, I had a definitive hair style), and the manner in which she applied color was not much better! (Even though I've been coloring my hair for years, she applied full color from root to end - and she didn't spread highlights and lowlights... it was AWEFUL!).... The worst part, she charged me well over $300 for her lack of experience and incompetence. As an Aveda salon, Gary Lambert should be a top salon in Orlando - with experienced top stylists... I was a longtime client of Gary Lambert Salon, and for the most part had good experiences. On my last visit, I decided to change my normal style, going from highlights to one color, thinking it would be more affordable. Turns out they charged me $350 for a SINGLE COLOR and a TRIM. The stylist even got permanent dye on my face which didn't come off for two days, and missed some spots on the back of my neck. I felt robbed to pay that much for a shoddy job. It wasn't even the color I asked for! I was so ticked off that i just said i'd never be back and didn't want them to touch it, for fear they'd it further. DEFINITELY not worth the money..don't go!! Everything about this place reeks of snob. From the moment you walk in the door, if you don't look like you have a trust fund, they don't care about you. $350 for a cut and highlighting??? It doesn't look any better than if I went to a local place and paid $85... How can a whole group of people be so full of themselves?? The women who work there have TERRIBLE bleached and dyed hair... nothing beautiful about their hair, why should you expect them to be able to do better with yours?!?! STAY AWAY AT ALL COST! After receiving a very generous gift certificate ($150) to this salon, I was excited to see what I could get done. I showed up at my allotted appointment time (9am) to be told that the stylist ""would be in any minute"", so 10 minutes later she saunters up and tells me to come to her station. I decided to get a relaxer on my hair which costs $110, and figured I would get some nice shampoo or something with the leftover $$. Well after doing the relaxer treatment, the stylist began to trim my hair (Which was great, I needed a trim, but I did not ask for it). I mentioned to her that I had a $150 gift certificate and didn't want to go over the limit and she went and talked to her boss and came back and told me that the relaxer and trim would come to $150!!!! $40 for a trim???? That DID NOT include a blowdry (which would be an extra $38!!), so I left with my hair soaking wet. Gary himself was there while I was there and did not even so much as return a smile to me, let alone say anything to welcome me (it was just me and 1 other client in there at that time). I'm new to the area having just moved from Tallahassee, and my experience in this salon was welcoming to say the least. I got a gift certificate for mother's day from my husband so I went in for a day of beauty. I got my eyebrows waxed, a haircut, my nails done, and a ten minute chair massage. Everyone was extremely friendly and all my services were amazing. My salon back home was Aveda, but it was nothing compared to this!!! I'd definitely go back again. WORSE PLACE EVER!! Charged $338 for a cut and color that I was dissatified with then went back to get it fixed got charged again $70 and to top it all off they took the liberty of adding a ridiculous 20% tip, when i shouldn't have been charged at all to get it fixed. I'm a college student and it was apparent that they completely took advantage of me. I agree it is not worth the gas, it is not worth your time or money.
