This is the worst hair salon I have ever been to. I went in for a hair coloring and when I told them what I wanted they said they couldn’t do that but they could do something near this. This was also a level 2 hair stylist. I was starting to get colored and she did a hair strand test and she said she could get close to the color I wanted. She kept asking questions to the other stylists. She got all my hair color on and walked away. When she came back she in she told me my service was going to be 300.00. I about died! What could I do? I was stuck. I am a social worker and could never afford that. I had to put it on my credit card because I had only saved 160.00 which is what it cost every other time I had been there for a color and cut. I have been to some really experienced stylists and it was NEVER more than 200.00. I knew a level 2 stylist couldn’t charge that much. I considered not giving a tip but I wasn’t raised that way. 330.00 for a color and cut for a level 2 stylist. I was seriously scammed. Stay away from Aveda Salons so this doesn’t happen to you! I wasn't going to get a haircut today. I met my friend at HQ Salon so we could walk to lunch. When we were finished, my friend suggested I check out the salon. I'm so glad I did!! Super sweet gal, Sharon, showed me around and sat me down for a minute. I needed a refresh on my (already short) cut and she did an excellent job!! I absolutely love it. I will be back! Not many stylist know how to cut a DA. Sharon went to an expert in the salon and they discussed how to cut my hair. MY HAIR CAME OUT PERFECT!!  THANKS SHARON!! Read Less

I had a fantastic experience today with Myrna.  This was my third Aveda salon I have been to and it was by far the best.  The staff was very welcoming and professional.     Myrna styled my hair in a way that was even better then I had envisioned.  The second best part about the experience was the hand massage and warm facial towel (the best part was the haircut)!  I would highly recommend this salon to anyone who wants a first class experience and to those who love Aveda products. I've been visiting Amanda here for 4 or 5 years. This is the only salon in all my experiences that I've never had a single problem with. Not only does Amanda do an amazing job on my hair each and every time (and I'm always changing it up and doing different things - she's done highlights, lowlights, bayalage, chunky layers and stacked bobs) but the front desk is always amazingly pleasant, and I never wait more than a couple of minutes to go back. You are greeted warmly and offered refreshments the minute you walk in. I can't recommend this place enough. Read Less

She told me how many steps it was going to take to do highlights in my hair. That I really didn't know what I wanted. With my kind of hair that style won't work. She didn't even need to ask me through the cut how it looked, because she knew what I wanted. I got so many compliments on this cut. Just went in again this morning for a trim. When I called the salon, I asked for a specific stylist. I explained to the person who answered the phone that I am a former salon owner and that my hair is very short and very fine. Therefore I am aware that it is important to get a stylist who is good with that specific hair type and style. The receptionist convinced me to go with a different stylist than the one I requested. Once the stylist brought me back to her chair we talked about my hair color and my cut. She said that she wanted to go to a level eight and I said that is much too light for me. I always do between levels six and seven. I expected to get color with some partial  highlights. She wanted to upsell me a toner which I have never needed before and also a conditioning treatment that I said no to because I can condition it at home with professional products.   When she had the color on she explained that I was going to have to have the toner after all because my old highlights were yellow. I told her that my old highlights were white so obviously she did not do a good job with the color and needed to put on a toner. When she came out with the mixed color she brought out three color bowls of color which was not what I asked for. And in fact when the process was completed my hair was much too light.   She did not listen to what I wanted. I showed her examples of the way I would like my haircut and she ignored those as well. Including the tip, I paid over $300 for a terrible color and a terrible haircut. I will never go back there and would recommend them to no one.   $300 for bad hair color and a bad haircut is outrageous. This was a bad experience from the very start.  It began with the receptionist who steered me toward an obviously inexperienced stylist that had no idea what to do with my hair (it took over 4 hours for my very short hair) and then the stylist who didn't listen to anything I wanted. When I owned a salon, the stylist was expected to call a new client the day following the appointment to ensure that they were satisfied with the service. If they were not, we immediately rectified it. There was no customer service follow up with this very expensive appointment.   What a shame! Read Less

No one ever even responded--- per below---"Hi there HQ--I just wanted to let you know about an experience I recently had at your Wesley Chapel salon. Unfortunately it was not a very pleasant one--First off-- I have been going to the same Aveda salon in Cary, IL for 10 years and have been using the same products and the same solutions for the most part for that long-- I am here for business months at a time and had to get my hair done while here..Made the appt and your facility did contact mine in IL about my chart---I had Dana-- friendly gal and very much explained everything to me don't get me wrong.Your salon I have to say is not really up to par -- there are mismatched lights all throughout your building and the decor seems really dated for being a high end salon-- especially in the mall and area you are in-- your prices are more than I pay at home. I have never had 2 bowls for my thin hair first of all-- 2nd I felt that I was being talked up to buy all these things and felt like I was at a car dealership from start to finish-- The worst part of my experience was you burned my scalp during the wash process-- I guess there is a difference between liquid and lotion product--- my head was burning I wanted to scream. It got rinsed and did subside though.I am unsure if this made my color turnout horrible-- I look 10 years older with brown hair now not blond--As I proceeded to leave your front manager did not even offer any discounts or anything on my experience- I believe the whole salon knew what was going on-- how embarrassing for you.I did proceed to ask for something off and she was very rude like I did something wrong--- anyhow I then got pressured once again to buy products--- I know what I need and when as again I have been going to the same aveda salon for 10 years-- feel free to call them ***In closing--- I will never be back to your facility and when I move here I especially will be letting other people know of my experience.I now have to go to my salon when I get back in town-- in which no appointments are available before easter and look like I aged 10 years while in Florida and then now have to pay double to get my hair back to normal.Hope to hear some feedback from you," Read Less

I have been to several salons over the past two years I have been in Tampa and I have to say this is the best experience I have ever had. I came in with a huge mistake of me trying to color my own hair, which turned out black and pretty damaged hair, when I left my hair looked and felt so much better. There are no words to explain how amazing Sharon was, she totally pulled off a miracle with my hair. To top it off, she went over the different options with me so I wasn't surprised at the end with the price, and gave me a realistic understanding of what the outcome could potentially be with the color so I wasn't expecting something I didn't get. The thing I have to say was the best part about her, was her personality. Sharon has the be the sweetest stylist I have ever had. I will not be going anywhere else and if you want a great style with a compassionate person, go to HQ and see Sharon, I promise it will be well worth it. HQ don't let this one go!! I went and got my hair treated here. I the girls didn't even know what she was doing. She had to ask someone else what to do. When I was getting my hair done my daughter wanted hers done. The guy next to us told her he would have time to do it. Then she changed her mind. Well 5 mins later she was ok with him doing. But then we were informed that he no longer had time to do it. He had another client. Needles to say nobody else was there. But then when we leaving the receptions informed me that he is not he and that she refers to her self as a she and that she didn't feel comfortable about doing my daughter hair. Well I am sorry but 4 year does understand that transgender stuff. And my daughter upset about the whole deal. I will not be going to this salon. Read Less

She basically tried to blow me off, which reflected her poor management/customer skills, inability to correct problems, and inability to time manage because she tried to push me away by suggesting they were booked. I was present at the salon and I insisted they make the correction while I was there. If I had not been more assertive, then she probably would never had her staff correct it. All in all, if this individual was out of the equation, my rating would be higher. She is quite the canine mammal! Read Less

In February, I went  in for  brown color and light blonde highlights.  The stylist asked if I had a picture, I did, one of their books.  I told her before she started I did not want to be all blonde.  All seemed well until she applied a toner, she left and came back with 2 other stylists, they kept rubbing my hair and applying something.Long story short I had red orange streaks throughout my hair (one of the stylists told me it was everywhere).  They said the stylist that damaged my hair was going back to color classes.  I could not go in a pool or the gulf, no highlights until November bc my hair was so damaged.  I believe it was a mistake and since they saw what happened I would let them do corrective work.  The second stylist applied an ash to cover orange/red hues, I also showed her the pic, not even close to what I wanted but it looked nice but only lasted 2 shampoos (used purple shampoo she agreed to and damage control conditioner).  After 2nd shampoo my hair is brassy blond with orange red highlights.  This happened twice, asked for appt with their colorist.Today at appt, I showed her the pic, she started giving me a bad time, saying the soft brown in the pic was blonde (It wasn't, I'm a registered nurse, I can tell colors).Then she said she was "confused".  That was it for me, I left.The colorist's job was to try and correct what happened, not to give the customer a bad time.  I found it both immature and unprofessional.Do not use this salon for all the above reasons.  They may damage your hair and don't know how to correct it. The second time he was there we had made an appointment for a higher skilled stylists and an hour before his appointment he got a phone call to reschedule because his stylist was running late. When he eventually went in for his appointment he was scheduled with a stylist with a lowest level of experience, which showed in her skill level for sure. They never mentioned the difference in skill level of who he was seeing. We just figured it out when we were going to pay. I have been to this place twice.  The first time I got an amateur, someone right out of college, and the second time I asked for someone with more experience, but he was only 19-20 years old.  For the quality of my cut (terrible both times), I could have gone to a beauty school and paid $15.  The stylists are really nice and all, and the shop is clean, but they do not have the experience to cut hair.  For the amount of money they charge (I paid $100 for a cut and highlight) they should hire experienced hairstylists.  Shame on the management! I've been going here for over a year and I'm a fan.  It's a convenient location at Wiregrass Mall.  The front desk people aren't particularly friendly or anything, but the hairstylists are so great.  I've been going to Crissy for over a year now, and I completely trust her with my hair.  She's super sweet and great to talk to; she remembers all kinds of things, which is so surprising since she sees me once every 6-8 wks.  What a sweetheart!  She also gives some great haircare advice (like which shampoos/conditioners are great, affordable and which you need to avoid)  and new haircut suggestions (which I needed; I've been wearing my hair the same way for years). They way prices are set are by the hairstylist's experience, so if you're tight on dough and are dealing with a newbie, be prepared for what that may mean.  So I'd suggest being EXTRA communicative, bring pictures, and ask questions (would I even look good with a blunt bang?).  If she's all done blowdrying your hair and you imagined your bangs a little shorter, tell her BEFORE you get up from that chair.  From my experience, the hairstylists will do their best to ensure you walk out of there feeling beautiful. I went in with a nasty rats nest as a head of hair and a great stylist names Melissa saved me from this straw motorcycle hair thing I had going on and  I cant thank her and Aveda enough.I feel pretty again and that's super important! lol! So if you need your hair done right go there and I will seriously vouch for Melissa. she has tattoos and her ears gauged out and is a super sweetheart with a ton of talent. Do yourself a favor and go to supercuts, bc that's the quality of service you're going to get and you might save money, actually they'd probably do a better job at supercuts. Go to ANY other Aveda salon, if you will only go to those (like myself). I had my hair ruined here. I went back a couple times for redo's for my highlights over a couple months. Once, a whole section of my hair was missing highlights. I shouldn't have gone back, but the girl was really nice who did my hair. She fixed it and I decided to give her another chance. Unfortunately, being "nice" doesn't make up for being simply inexperienced, which goes for all of the people there, including the owner (who doesn't even do hair by the way). I went back again for highlights and left looking like nothing was done. The left side of my hair was lighter than the right. I pointed this out and it was ignored. I went back bc it looked like my hair had never even gotten highlights. This lead to the biggest hair disaster (and by far the most expensive to fix). I left the salon with yellow roots and was later told that was just the color my hair was and nothing else could be done. I was in tears. Here's the issue... Everyone with eyes could see that my hair looked terrible but no one was acknowledging it. So I contact the owner and she has me come in. I thought she might be able to fix it bc I was told on the phone that she was the best at hair and had done it for years. Well, I came in and no customers were there but the owner made me wait 20 mins while she was going in and out of an office with a boy I'm assuming she was training. She sat me down and told me nothing could be done. Nothing. She told me to go elsewhere. I've never been treated so poorly. Turns out she doesn't even do hair and she has no idea how to fix it bc she doesn't do hair!So I go to another Aveda salon (touch) and they said something could be done, and my hair looked amazing afterwards. A real stylist looked at my hair and told me exactly what needed to be done. The people at HQ just looked at my hair and scratched their heads. Unfortunately, it took over $300 to fix on a highlight that cost me over $100 that I never got my money back for. The lovely owner of HQ can be quoted saying "I will not give you your money back."This place is dirty, and there's cups everywhere. They're always running around frantically. These should've been red flags for me, and let this be a big red flag for you. Do not go here! This place should not even be associated with Aveda. Read Less

Never posted a review on YELP but had to this time.Wasted my money.  Paid for a chignon up-do on the day of my company christmas party 2010 and was dealing with a pure amateur.  Her name was JOYLYNN THOMAS. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and specifically asked her if she could do it and she said yes.  She then spent 25 minutes doing something else.  When I finally stopped her to ask to look at it so far, it was totally NOT what I showed her.  I asked her if there was a reason she was doing a different style.  She said that she was doing a different spin on what I asked for.  I asked if there was a problem with doing the up-do I wanted, she said no.She un-did the work she already spent 25 minutes doing. Mind you, I have no extra time to play with because my company christmas party was a few hours away.Then she stopped in the middle of the job and asked someone to help her.  When the other woman showed her what to do, she worked a little bit more and added a crap load of pomade to my bangs.  I wanted soft wispy side-swept bangs so of course there was no undoing the grease-slick on my forehead.  Then she added hairspray.  Ugh!Towards the end, she talked to the woman who helped her and came back to me and said the other woman was going to finish you off.  No apology. Nothing.  She walked off.The other woman was a pro and did the best she could with the time I had left.  I wanted to cry and the woman felt so bad.  She said the only way to do what I asked for was to wash my hair and start over.  Of course I had no time and just asked her to slick the whole thing back because of all the pomade.Joylynn Thomas failed to give me the up-do I asked for and made the whole thing worse.  At the front counter, I was not given any kind of compensation for the poor service at all... This is the worst hair salon I have ever been to. I went in for a hair coloring and when I told them what I wanted they said they couldn’t do that but they could do something near this. This was also a level 2 hair stylist. I was starting to get colored and she did a hair strand test and she said she could get close to the color I wanted. She kept asking questions to the other stylists. She got all my hair color on and walked away. When she came back she in she told me my service was going to be 300.00. I about died! What could I do? I was stuck. I am a social worker and could never afford that. I had to put it on my credit card because I had only saved 160.00 which is what it cost every other time I had been there for a color and cut. I have been to some really experienced stylists and it was NEVER more than 200.00. I knew a level 2 stylist couldn’t charge that much. I considered not giving a tip but I wasn’t raised that way. 330.00 for a color and cut for a level 2 stylist. I was seriously scammed. Stay away from Aveda Salons so this doesn’t happen to you! I wasn't going to get a haircut today. I met my friend at HQ Salon so we could walk to lunch. When we were finished, my friend suggested I check out the salon. I'm so glad I did!! Super sweet gal, Sharon, showed me around and sat me down for a minute. I needed a refresh on my (already short) cut and she did an excellent job!! I absolutely love it. I will be back! Not many stylist know how to cut a DA. Sharon went to an expert in the salon and they discussed how to cut my hair. MY HAIR CAME OUT PERFECT!!  THANKS SHARON!! Read Less

I've been visiting Amanda here for 4 or 5 years. This is the only salon in all my experiences that I've never had a single problem with. Not only does Amanda do an amazing job on my hair each and every time (and I'm always changing it up and doing different things - she's done highlights, lowlights, bayalage, chunky layers and stacked bobs) but the front desk is always amazingly pleasant, and I never wait more than a couple of minutes to go back. You are greeted warmly and offered refreshments the minute you walk in. I can't recommend this place enough. Read Less

She told me how many steps it was going to take to do highlights in my hair. That I really didn't know what I wanted. With my kind of hair that style won't work. When I called the salon, I asked for a specific stylist. I explained to the person who answered the phone that I am a former salon owner and that my hair is very short and very fine. Therefore I am aware that it is important to get a stylist who is good with that specific hair type and style. The receptionist convinced me to go with a different stylist than the one I requested. Once the stylist brought me back to her chair we talked about my hair color and my cut. She said that she wanted to go to a level eight and I said that is much too light for me. I always do between levels six and seven. I expected to get color with some partial  highlights. She wanted to upsell me a toner which I have never needed before and also a conditioning treatment that I said no to because I can condition it at home with professional products.   When she had the color on she explained that I was going to have to have the toner after all because my old highlights were yellow. I told her that my old highlights were white so obviously she did not do a good job with the color and needed to put on a toner. When she came out with the mixed color she brought out three color bowls of color which was not what I asked for. And in fact when the process was completed my hair was much too light.   She did not listen to what I wanted. I showed her examples of the way I would like my haircut and she ignored those as well. Including the tip, I paid over $300 for a terrible color and a terrible haircut. I will never go back there and would recommend them to no one.   $300 for bad hair color and a bad haircut is outrageous. This was a bad experience from the very start.  It began with the receptionist who steered me toward an obviously inexperienced stylist that had no idea what to do with my hair (it took over 4 hours for my very short hair) and then the stylist who didn't listen to anything I wanted. When I owned a salon, the stylist was expected to call a new client the day following the appointment to ensure that they were satisfied with the service. If they were not, we immediately rectified it. There was no customer service follow up with this very expensive appointment.   What a shame! Read Less

No one ever even responded--- per below---"Hi there HQ--I just wanted to let you know about an experience I recently had at your Wesley Chapel salon. Unfortunately it was not a very pleasant one--First off-- I have been going to the same Aveda salon in Cary, IL for 10 years and have been using the same products and the same solutions for the most part for that long-- I am here for business months at a time and had to get my hair done while here..Made the appt and your facility did contact mine in IL about my chart---I had Dana-- friendly gal and very much explained everything to me don't get me wrong.Your salon I have to say is not really up to par -- there are mismatched lights all throughout your building and the decor seems really dated for being a high end salon-- especially in the mall and area you are in-- your prices are more than I pay at home. I have never had 2 bowls for my thin hair first of all-- 2nd I felt that I was being talked up to buy all these things and felt like I was at a car dealership from start to finish-- The worst part of my experience was you burned my scalp during the wash process-- I guess there is a difference between liquid and lotion product--- my head was burning I wanted to scream. It got rinsed and did subside though.I am unsure if this made my color turnout horrible-- I look 10 years older with brown hair now not blond--As I proceeded to leave your front manager did not even offer any discounts or anything on my experience- I believe the whole salon knew what was going on-- how embarrassing for you.I did proceed to ask for something off and she was very rude like I did something wrong--- anyhow I then got pressured once again to buy products--- I know what I need and when as again I have been going to the same aveda salon for 10 years-- feel free to call them ***In closing--- I will never be back to your facility and when I move here I especially will be letting other people know of my experience.I now have to go to my salon when I get back in town-- in which no appointments are available before easter and look like I aged 10 years while in Florida and then now have to pay double to get my hair back to normal.Hope to hear some feedback from you," Read Less

I have been to several salons over the past two years I have been in Tampa and I have to say this is the best experience I have ever had. I came in with a huge mistake of me trying to color my own hair, which turned out black and pretty damaged hair, when I left my hair looked and felt so much better. There are no words to explain how amazing Sharon was, she totally pulled off a miracle with my hair. To top it off, she went over the different options with me so I wasn't surprised at the end with the price, and gave me a realistic understanding of what the outcome could potentially be with the color so I wasn't expecting something I didn't get. The thing I have to say was the best part about her, was her personality. Sharon has the be the sweetest stylist I have ever had. I will not be going anywhere else and if you want a great style with a compassionate person, go to HQ and see Sharon, I promise it will be well worth it. HQ don't let this one go!! I went and got my hair treated here. I the girls didn't even know what she was doing. She had to ask someone else what to do. When I was getting my hair done my daughter wanted hers done. The guy next to us told her he would have time to do it. Then she changed her mind. Well 5 mins later she was ok with him doing. But then we were informed that he no longer had time to do it. He had another client. Needles to say nobody else was there. But then when we leaving the receptions informed me that he is not he and that she refers to her self as a she and that she didn't feel comfortable about doing my daughter hair. Well I am sorry but 4 year does understand that transgender stuff. And my daughter upset about the whole deal. I will not be going to this salon. Read Less

Had highlights but they didn't turn out as expected but staff made efforts to correct it which went well. The problem was the "manager". She basically tried to blow me off, which reflected her poor management/customer skills, inability to correct problems, and inability to time manage because she tried to push me away by suggesting they were booked. I was present at the salon and I insisted they make the correction while I was there. If I had not been more assertive, then she probably would never had her staff correct it. All in all, if this individual was out of the equation, my rating would be higher. She is quite the canine mammal! Read Less

If you have an event to go to and want to look like Kimmy K - they don't have fake lashes here. They don't have black liquid liner. I wish I had brought my own makeup. In February, I went  in for  brown color and light blonde highlights.  The stylist asked if I had a picture, I did, one of their books.  I told her before she started I did not want to be all blonde.  All seemed well until she applied a toner, she left and came back with 2 other stylists, they kept rubbing my hair and applying something.Long story short I had red orange streaks throughout my hair (one of the stylists told me it was everywhere).  They said the stylist that damaged my hair was going back to color classes.  I could not go in a pool or the gulf, no highlights until November bc my hair was so damaged.  I believe it was a mistake and since they saw what happened I would let them do corrective work.  The second stylist applied an ash to cover orange/red hues, I also showed her the pic, not even close to what I wanted but it looked nice but only lasted 2 shampoos (used purple shampoo she agreed to and damage control conditioner).  After 2nd shampoo my hair is brassy blond with orange red highlights.  This happened twice, asked for appt with their colorist.Today at appt, I showed her the pic, she started giving me a bad time, saying the soft brown in the pic was blonde (It wasn't, I'm a registered nurse, I can tell colors).Then she said she was "confused".  That was it for me, I left.The colorist's job was to try and correct what happened, not to give the customer a bad time.  I found it both immature and unprofessional.Do not use this salon for all the above reasons.  They may damage your hair and don't know how to correct it. The second time he was there we had made an appointment for a higher skilled stylists and an hour before his appointment he got a phone call to reschedule because his stylist was running late. When he eventually went in for his appointment he was scheduled with a stylist with a lowest level of experience, which showed in her skill level for sure. They never mentioned the difference in skill level of who he was seeing. We just figured it out when we were going to pay. Both stylists did a bad job and we unfortunately won't go back.Bad customer service.Bad organization.Bad stylist skills. Read Less

I have been to this place twice.  The first time I got an amateur, someone right out of college, and the second time I asked for someone with more experience, but he was only 19-20 years old.  For the quality of my cut (terrible both times), I could have gone to a beauty school and paid $15.  The stylists are really nice and all, and the shop is clean, but they do not have the experience to cut hair.  For the amount of money they charge (I paid $100 for a cut and highlight) they should hire experienced hairstylists.  Shame on the management! I've been going here for over a year and I'm a fan.  It's a convenient location at Wiregrass Mall.  The front desk people aren't particularly friendly or anything, but the hairstylists are so great.  I've been going to Crissy for over a year now, and I completely trust her with my hair.  She's super sweet and great to talk to; she remembers all kinds of things, which is so surprising since she sees me once every 6-8 wks.  What a sweetheart!  She also gives some great haircare advice (like which shampoos/conditioners are great, affordable and which you need to avoid)  and new haircut suggestions (which I needed; I've been wearing my hair the same way for years). They way prices are set are by the hairstylist's experience, so if you're tight on dough and are dealing with a newbie, be prepared for what that may mean.  So I'd suggest being EXTRA communicative, bring pictures, and ask questions (would I even look good with a blunt bang?).  If she's all done blowdrying your hair and you imagined your bangs a little shorter, tell her BEFORE you get up from that chair.  From my experience, the hairstylists will do their best to ensure you walk out of there feeling beautiful. I went in with a nasty rats nest as a head of hair and a great stylist names Melissa saved me from this straw motorcycle hair thing I had going on and  I cant thank her and Aveda enough.I feel pretty again and that's super important! lol! So if you need your hair done right go there and I will seriously vouch for Melissa. she has tattoos and her ears gauged out and is a super sweetheart with a ton of talent. Do yourself a favor and go to supercuts, bc that's the quality of service you're going to get and you might save money, actually they'd probably do a better job at supercuts. Go to ANY other Aveda salon, if you will only go to those (like myself). I had my hair ruined here. I went back a couple times for redo's for my highlights over a couple months. Once, a whole section of my hair was missing highlights. I shouldn't have gone back, but the girl was really nice who did my hair. She fixed it and I decided to give her another chance. Unfortunately, being "nice" doesn't make up for being simply inexperienced, which goes for all of the people there, including the owner (who doesn't even do hair by the way). I went back again for highlights and left looking like nothing was done. The left side of my hair was lighter than the right. I pointed this out and it was ignored. I went back bc it looked like my hair had never even gotten highlights. This lead to the biggest hair disaster (and by far the most expensive to fix). I left the salon with yellow roots and was later told that was just the color my hair was and nothing else could be done. I was in tears. Here's the issue... Everyone with eyes could see that my hair looked terrible but no one was acknowledging it. So I contact the owner and she has me come in. I thought she might be able to fix it bc I was told on the phone that she was the best at hair and had done it for years. Well, I came in and no customers were there but the owner made me wait 20 mins while she was going in and out of an office with a boy I'm assuming she was training. She sat me down and told me nothing could be done. Nothing. She told me to go elsewhere. I've never been treated so poorly. Turns out she doesn't even do hair and she has no idea how to fix it bc she doesn't do hair!So I go to another Aveda salon (touch) and they said something could be done, and my hair looked amazing afterwards. A real stylist looked at my hair and told me exactly what needed to be done. The people at HQ just looked at my hair and scratched their heads. Unfortunately, it took over $300 to fix on a highlight that cost me over $100 that I never got my money back for. The lovely owner of HQ can be quoted saying "I will not give you your money back."This place is dirty, and there's cups everywhere. They're always running around frantically. These should've been red flags for me, and let this be a big red flag for you. Do not go here! This place should not even be associated with Aveda. Read Less

I showed her a picture of what I wanted and specifically asked her if she could do it and she said yes.  She then spent 25 minutes doing something else.  When I finally stopped her to ask to look at it so far, it was totally NOT what I showed her.  I asked her if there was a reason she was doing a different style.  She said that she was doing a different spin on what I asked for.  I asked if there was a problem with doing the up-do I wanted, she said no.She un-did the work she already spent 25 minutes doing. Mind you, I have no extra time to play with because my company christmas party was a few hours away.Then she stopped in the middle of the job and asked someone to help her.  When the other woman showed her what to do, she worked a little bit more and added a crap load of pomade to my bangs.  I wanted soft wispy side-swept bangs so of course there was no undoing the grease-slick on my forehead.  Then she added hairspray.  Ugh!Towards the end, she talked to the woman who helped her and came back to me and said the other woman was going to finish you off.  No apology. Nothing.  She walked off.The other woman was a pro and did the best she could with the time I had left.  I wanted to cry and the woman felt so bad.  She said the only way to do what I asked for was to wash my hair and start over.  Of course I had no time and just asked her to slick the whole thing back because of all the pomade.Joylynn Thomas failed to give me the up-do I asked for and made the whole thing worse.  At the front counter, I was not given any kind of compensation for the poor service at all...
