This place is so pretty and very clean. Sanitation practices are great and they are super nice. But it's one of the worst filing jobs I've had. I had to go home and re do them but a lot of them were already way too short and thin. She never asked me if I wanted my toe nails cut down she just cut them and they are way too short as well. I just don't get the five star reviews because that was not my experience. plus the place is just dirty and seems kind of cheap and tacky. a lot of the spa Pedicure Chairs are so old that the leather is cracking at the heads. the chairs never seem to be wipe down the tables in the arm rest were full of smudges and fingerprints it was disgusting. the guy that was doing my pedicure was probably the worst I've ever had. the massage, if that's what you call it, was just him rubbing his hand up and down my leg basically for 5 minutes I finally had to tell him to stop. it was more annoying than therapeutic. polish started chipping the next day. definitely will not be going back and definitely will not be recommending this. My mom and I had a VERY nice nail salon experience. Super friendly, attentive staff, thorough service, and decent pricing! They take appointments and as a walk in, we were served immediately. Great selection of gel and regular nail colors, and they really took the time to make sure my gel fill was done correctly. I will definitely be coming back here next time I visit Venice!! From what I can tell, the people here aren't very good at all. My technician was didn't do a good job and left my gel manicure tacky. However, she applied some holographic powder to my nails in a very spotty streaky coat, and when I asked for a 2nd coat, she AND the technician next to her looked at my nails and said they were supposed to be streaky and uneven. When I insisted on a 2nd coat, the technician rolled her eyes and sighed but finally did them. After that she was pretty sullen and short with me. They charge way too much for this unprofessional service. Less than a week after the manicure, one of the nails popped off and to her credit, she very nicely redid it for free. I have lived in Venice for two years and I've gone to Glitter and Gloss and have had disappointing service several times, but kept returning out of convenience. I came for the last time this past weekend when I came in for a pedicure, and the moment I sat down the male nail technician laughed at my pale legs and said, "You need to get a tan!". I was embarrassed and upset by his words. It was a completely inappropriate thing to say to a customer - especially a long term one who always tips, even for sub-par massages and nail polish on my skin during my pedicures. I will not be coming back. I can get a mediocre pedicure anywhere in town and not be insulted by the staff. Would NOT recommend to anyone. Read Less

I would give this place negative stars if possible, I don't see how anyone can go there. The lady cut my nails to the point of pain several times, I had to tell her to stop, almost no massage, all she did the whole time was talk to the others in vietnamese. She left my right hand with nails to the point of bleeding and the other still too long. A child could have done better. Terrible place, when I complained to the owner, she demanded full payment and said next time she would give me someone else. Next time? Are you serious. The shop is very clean and the ladies are very nice. This is my 2nd visit. I've never gotten exactly what I've asked for. I asked for dip polish the first visit which she did but then she put me under the gel lights which I didn't need. This visit wasn't any better. Instead of soaking off the polish she dremeled it off. I again asked for dip polish but I got gel polish - she told me that it was the same thing. Anyway, I read all the glowing reviews but I can't give them that. I also had 4 different techs! I think the worst gel manicure I've ever gotten. There's polish on my nail and I asked her if she could get it off and she didn't understand me or care I don't think. I asked for my nails and toes the same color and they're clearly different. Had heard good things re: this salon, so I stopped in to see if they had time for a pedicure. It was good, friendly people, but polish began chipping the next day. I returned to have a mani the next day, but didn't ask for a re-do on toes. Mani was good, but w/ 2 days, the clear topcoat sort of "bubbled up" & easily peeled off in the next 2 days. The young lady knew my feet are very tender and she was very gentle. The shop was very clean and she used clean tools as I saw her bring them in and take them out. Between a 4/5 star. Prompt service I walked up just as she opened and she quickly took me in for an under arm waxing. For a moment there I think she thought I was trying to steal or something since I was taking pictures but I trying to not be creepy and obvious. Whatever. Anyway she was a sweet lady but I mean $20 underarm waxing is stupid expensive. Even the Venice day spa that like not even a minute walk around the corner charges $20 too for underarm. Idk, I'm just a loyal member to European wax center but I was desperate and this place was near by. I couldn't be happier with the service. The only weird thing is, when she was waxing my left under arm she was leaning over across from me laying down to get maybe a better angle or something.. idk the table was high and there wasn't room for her to walk to the other side and she was was really cupping my boob when she was waxing. I've had my underarms waxed plenty enough to not have had that happen... but... I mean whatever. Just still was a little weird. I think she was just trying to pull the skin to make it easier to pull the wax off but .. I'm sure there's a little better of a way to do that. The highlight of this place is the women who work there. They are lovely! - really nice and did an impeccable job. The salon is clean and well laid out. Prices are right.
