First visit: Did everything I needed to have done and that I had requested. Second visit: came for fixing a nail. My friend came for pedi. There was no one available for my job, so I sat down next to my friend on a pedi chair. Was told to go to the "front" to the establishment to wait, so I asked whether I could wait there to be able to chat with my friend. The girl said yes. In a language that I unfortunately do not know, there was an exchange of words between them and a male came and asked me a second time to move. This time I did, observing there were other 5 (five) pedi chairs available for other customers if needed. During my first visit I spent over 100 dollars between mani, pedi, waxing. Generous tip was given. Unfortunately they won't have my business anymore after today. Just read other reviews where people state they have been treated rudely as well. Read Less

UPDATE: POLISH PEELED COMPLETELY OFF OF 2 NAILS AND 3 NAILS POPPED OFF. Maybe I just got the wrong nail girl??? Different strokes for different folks? I am one of the most nit-picky nail girls out there that LOVES long and glamorous nails. If you're like most people and want simple, classic, traditional nails... this place may be for you. However, if you like more of the modern "edgy" stiletto or coffin acrylic nails... they aren't that great at catering to that. If you're searching for rock glitter, chrome, holographic nails or nail art... Find somewhere else. I was shocked that this extremely reverred nail salon had nothing but the very basic 'no fuss' regular polishes and gel polishes. I drove 40 minutes to this highly recommended salon only to find that I could buy most of the polishes there at Walgreen's and done my nails myself (if I knew how to use acrylics). I love the AJ Nails on University and honor they are very polite in there I did not have to wait to be taken care of and I went on a Sunday and there was so many employees working you get in and out this is the best nail place I have been to I used to go to AJ Nails on McIntosh and Bee Ridge in Sarasota I love that place too but the AJ Nails on University is closer to my house so it's more convenient I give them a 5-star rating I will be going there every two weeks now and the place is very clean and beautiful inside Read Less

I am visiting from Ct and my mother in law has been coming here for years and has told me many times what a fantastic nail salon this is. She treated me to a pedicure which was phenomenal. When you first walk in, you are greeted with a smile. The salon is immaculate. Very clean and you can tell they all take enormous pride in their work. I've only been coming here for a few weeks now and it just dawned on me that the nail techs have called me by name every time! That's impressive! Also, they consistently deliver the best quality shellac manicure and pedicure I have ever had. It doesn't matter who does it, they're all really really good! The folks here have a great attitude and have fun with their clients. It's a delight to come here every two weeks and let them work their magic. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. I don't live in Sarasota anymore I came up to visit family and it was suggested I come here...I will only come here to get nails done from now on!
