Spent 2 hours to get my nails soaked off and re done. An older lady who never offered her name did them. My hands don’t match. She cut my nails too short on one hand and glued on tips wish she had no business doing. Acrylic is missing in spots on some fingers. My polish is all bubbly. So I went here on a Saturday morning planning on leaving the following day for a cruise so I wanted a mani-pedi. I was assigned Jenny who was not very attentive. I say that meaning the owner of the salon came over during my pedicure, kicked Jenny out of the chair and used the "grater" file on my heels and took care of a lot of cuticles around my toenails for both of my feet that she neglected. It was like when they just move the trimmer over it pretending to cut but nothing is being cut. When I got to my manicure I picked a grey polish with a black sparkle for my accent nail. The sparkle polish was very thick and the ladies yelled at her for using it without putting thinner in it as it was coming out chunky. I've heard wonderful things about this salon. Just left this spa with the best pedicure I've have in years. Q gave an amazing massage and the paint actually on my entire nail, no missing areas and no polish on my skin. I have been trying to find a person that I want to return to. The struggle has been real to say the least. If I even find a spa I want to try again was getting difficult. If I could give this place no stars, I would. Where do I start? First off, I am new to the Tampa area and was in search of a nail salon to do a manicure. I googled some salons in the area and saw this one had a 4.5 star rating. I decided to stop by and get a manicure. I had an older lady do my nails. When I first met her she told me to pick a color, so I did. I asked her about nail designs and color ideas but she didn't seem all that interested in helping me decide and kept saying, "ok, ok you do that, I can do, line is good, I don't know, I don't understand...etc" Not to be whatever, but I don't think she understood half of the questions I asked her. Ok, moving along....She proceeded to work on my nails and almost cut me/buffed the cuticle area way to fast to the point where it started hurting. I was not offered anything to drink, there was not much conversation, it was just very awkward. This by far is the sloppiest manicure I have ever had in my life. And last but not least, the hand/arm "massage" was more like "here let me slap some lotion on your arms and rub them really fast for 15 seconds...ALL DONE!" It was disgusting and terrible. I will never go back to this salon, and I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS SALON TO ANYONE. **Note to salon**When you don't thank your clients for their business or show any interest in them....not to mention if you display any rude behavior, REMEMBER they will not come back! I went to this nail salon for the third time today and it was even worse then the first two time.  I first heard of this salon through a good friend and my mother in law.  I only gave this place anothet chance because I was told the younger technician named was great.  What a waste of time.  I had the deluxe spa pedicure and dip gel polish change.  The actual pedicure treatment was nice,  I enjoyed the parafin wax dip and hot stones. The ONLY reason this salon did not get one star is because the features of the pedicure where enjoyable. The polish was applied very sloppy and I have smudges and red nail polish around my toes.  The nail color just looks bad,  look at the pictures to see what I mean.  The dip gel color change was a joke from the start.  They soaked both my nails in a bowl of acetone.  I've only ever had this done by applying it directly to the nail with dip gel because unlike regular gel Polish the gel got stuck all over my fingers and palms of hands.  Even after cleaning them they have clumps on them and my skin is dry and peeling because of the acetone.  After my nail Polish was removed she began the dip process.  She kept consulting with another nail tech about how it wad supposed to be done.  I should have ran screaming at this point but didn't.  She went to use a drill on my nails and told her I haven't ever had this used before so they didn't use it but instead used a coarse file on my right hand.  She also forgot to put the gel base down but put it on when I asked.  I was told that thwy are still learning from many clients.  I wish I would have known this originally or I would NOT have went there.  Then she started applying product to my left hand without filing them.  I had to show her that my left hand was a lot longer then my right hand for her to finally file them...  I felt like I was getting teeth pulled every file because she kept hitting my fingers. Never again. First time was OK. Second time was the worst nail experience I've ever had. I'm truly disgusted by the nails I'm now having to wear in front of people. The polish was running, the edges are rough and over lapped onto my skin. The woman even cut not one but TWO of my fingers with the drill file. 😢 Read Less

I unfortunately had a bad experience.  I went in for a manicure and ended up purchasing a luxury manicure.  The nail technician applied paraffin over freshly polished nails.  When she removed paraffin polish the polish was completely granulated over.  When I made mention of the state of the finished product the nail technician said this had not happened before, no apology.  By then I had already been there for one and one half hours.  I've had many manicures over the years and a manicure with paraffin treatment had never come out as bad.   I requested redo on polish and then realized I was short on time.  At which point I asked for a partial refund.  I originally paid $20 for a "luxury " manicure ( basic manicure with paraffin treatment) with a $4 tip prior to initial polish application.  At which point the nail technician spoke with a lady on the phone sitting near by and she refunded $$5 back.  She said I could come back but by then I was so upset, I asked her to remove polish and I left.  A couple of hours later I called back and requested to speak with owner but was told owner, Toni, was unavailable.  I requested a call back to try and discuss situation with owner but have not heard back.  I definitely would not recommend this place, ever. Nice pedicure for $20.  We went on a Monday afternoon and the place wasn't too busy.   I did call first to ensure we would be able to get in.  We were both satisfied with the end result and the price was fair.  Easy access off Fowler and I75.  Large shop with 8 pedicure chairs.  Waxing and mail service also available.  Bonus is the Thai place next door!  Yum! I just moved into the area last week and when I saw that there was a nail salon 4 minutes away from my apartment - I HAD to try it out! I decided the safest bet was something I had never gotten done before - a gel mani. I did decide to do something simple, yes. But I came in with very beat up nails. A couple breaks and nicks. The man who did it for me blew me away. For only 22 dollars I have never seen someone pay so much attention to my nails. In the end..they look like nothing was ever wrong with them. I also appreciated that he decided to do the massage at the end. It's best to leave with that great impression! Everyone here is very nice, as well. They did a fantastic job on my pedicure. 3 weeks later and they still look like I just got them done! They tried to make conversation for the duration of the time so at least it wasn't awkward and they had a large TV to watch things on so I would come back again.What I wasn't entirely fond of how the girl who did my pedicure kept pushing me to do a manicure and kept asking me "why?" when I mentioned that I didn't want to do one that day. My absolute favorite nail spot! I stumbled upon this place when I was a student at USF. Once I found Amethia I was hooked! They do an AMAZING $35 spa pedicure complete with filing and trimming nails, scrubbing and removing dry skin, a leg scrub and massage with HOT STONES, parrafin dip to soften your feet, and polish all while relaxing in a luxurious big comfy spa chair. They usually have soft instrumental pop songs playing and I love playing my own version of 'name that tune'. One of my favorite aspects of Amethia is they sell personal nail kits so you can purchase a little box with your own nail clippers, cuticle trimmers, file, and scrub so you don't have to worry about cleanliness of utensils. Back when I got it a few years ago it was $6 and they even store the box there so no worries about forgetting it at home. They also installed a big flat screen TV and usually have magazines all over to keep you entertained. I also love that they staff remembered me after I moved away for a few years and then came back! They're also great at 'reading' you and engaging in conversation and finding out about your life, or if you just sit back and close your eyes they'll let you doze off while they perform magic on your feet. I turned my mom onto Amethia during her last visit and we are about to return today and she'll be checking out the wax and manicure services but I highly, highly recommend for pedicures for SURE!
