Hey, what can I say? I tried. Always ready to support the cause of a fellow black entrepreneur, I found this salon hoping to get my nails done for my bday celebration that night. My usual girl took the weekend to celebrate her birthday so I had to find another nail place. Now let's start with the foolishness. First and foremost, the phone number does not work. At all. The number they promote isn't even a number that is attached to anything at all. So that was the first strike. I'm more forgiving about things than my husband, he was already giving side eyes about the phone number, so I go onto their site and make an appointment for 4 pm for a full set. I figured since it was the only open appointment, the place would be packed...We get over there, and it's set in a deserted plaza. I mean it is the ONLY shop space that isn't shut down. A little creepy, but okay. We get in, and there are 2 ladies getting services and two sitting down waiting, looking at polishes on the sticks. One thing I noticed, they didn't have the polishes out anywhere, just the sticks. The receptionist says hello and I told her I had an appointment at 4. She asks with who? I tell her I don't even know, because the website didn't specify a "who" with the only open appointment at 4 for a full set, and another employee began talking to her, cutting me off before I could tell her their phone doesn't work (do they not know?)After that, no one speaks to me at all. I'm with my hubby, who needs to drop our son off at grandmas, and he had a bad feeling they were going to treat me badly so he didn't want to leave til my service started. And so we wait. The ladies sitting in the chairs next to me receive wine, I was not asked nor given anything. My husband is getting more ticked off. The employees are standing around talking to each other, the ladies next to me are talking to them and each other. I however, have no clue as to what's going on, and why I'm not being seen as it's now over twenty minutes past my appointment time, and the receptionist disappeared a while ago. My husband is incredibly mad, I'm incredibly sad (like I said, I'm always here to support the community and give a fair shot, even though there were a few Facebook reviews talking about unprofessionalism and bad customer service) and we leave 25 minutes after my appointment was supposed to start. I would've understood the wait if they were busy, or if I was a walk in, but I had an appointment and was not told a thing about why my time was being wasted sitting there as if I just waltzed in randomly. I really wanted to give them a try. They weren't busy at all, but there was some sort of issue either with their staff, with the way they run their business, or with their communication skills.
