I am very easygoing about my hair, and it takes quite a bit for me to get upset about it, but today took the cake. I came here after reading the good reviews to get my hair cut before graduation. I made my appointment over the phone and was told I was getting a specific person, whom I read great reviews on. When I got there they changed my hair stylist. This girl totally botched my hair. I showed her several pictures of what I wanted (maybe an obsessive amount, better safe than sorry). She asked what side I parted my hair on, and when I told her she seemed a bit confused and asked if I could do it. So I did. She then parted my hair in the middle and said it was to make everything centered. She then started reading the backs of her products because she wasn’t sure which one did what, and that’s when I officially knew that I was in for a bad hair cut. The brushes she used she was pulling out of her bag and had hair on them, which seems very unsanitary to me. When she finished cutting my hair, she told me she cut it shorter in the back than in the front because she liked the way it looked. That is not at all what I wanted but at that point I didn’t want to tell her to fix anything because I didn’t want her to make it worse. She had on super long fake nails where she accidentally poked me in the eye, I don’t think she noticed because she didn’t say sorry. When she blow dried my hair she burned my scalp. When she brushed it she pulled it so hard that it hurt. And mind you, I’m pretty hard headed so it takes a lot for it to hurt. The products she used in my hair made my hair so stiff and crunchy. When we left I immediately made a phone call to my hair stylist back home to fix and will be making the 3 hour drive next week. My hair is literally two different lengths on each side. One above my shoulder, the other below. I will be wearing my hair in a pony tail this entire week until I can get it fixed. DONT GO HERE. Read Less

First time, good reviews, my girlfriend thought she'd give it a try, and as any good boyfriend would I went with her. First, though she scheduled an appointment with a master stylist, she was given just another employee (who won't be named). This lady had long fake nails and accidentally stabbed them into my girlfriend's face, not apologizing. After an hour and 15 minutes of hair cutting we left, and as soon as we cleared the door she began to sob. "I hate it", telling me every detail of her misery. The stylist supposedly cut her hair without following my girlfriends request, ending up with a different look than what she wanted and disproportionate ends. Now, as a guy, I don't know much about women hair, but I know her sides are at two different lengths, even when the stylist said she'd part it in the middle (which would mean even sides, right?). Either way, she has to travel to her own hair lady back home to fix the problem before FSU graduation in two weeks. I had an AMAZING experience at Haute Headz @ Betton with Christine Arnold. My very thin long hair was doing nothing for me. I was worried that since my hair was so thin that not much could be done with it. NOT TRUE! She gave me a super cute lob with a subtle angle and some layers in the back. The hair washing was super enjoyable with gentle massaging, warm water, and product that smelled amazing. During the cut/style she was careful to ask me if I was tender headed and let me know to inform her if the tools were too hot. My scalp is super sensitive and I experienced no pain. She also took her time to talk to me about the products she was using and what techniques she was using on my hair. I’m definitely going to grab some of that Oribe Grandious moose and thick dry finishing spray. The whole experience can be described as professional. Some reviews mention that the place is pricey but the big thing with that is you get what you pay for. At Haute Headz you get professional stylists that look like they put a lot of effort into their look, a beautiful atmosphere (the place is decorated beautifully), and an overall experience that makes you feel like you went to a spa.
