I just love this place. I have been going there for quite a few years and they take very good care of me. Not once have I had an acrylic nail break. I have been to many other nail salons and within a week, the nails either break or fall off completely. I do not go anywhere else now. I am terrible with names, but the husband and wife team are the best. The husband does my acrylic's and his wife does my pedicure. Perfect!! If I could give no stars I would. I've been doing my nails for six years now nonstop. And everyone knows in St. Lucie County it is so hard to find a good nail tech. My last nail tech moved so I was searching around for a new one. I work in Stuart but I live in Port St. Lucie. While I was at work I needed my nails done desperately. So I looked up good nail places near me and I found California nails it was only five minutes away and it had over 4.5 stars so I thought I should give it a try. I called them to make an appointment and got there a couple minutes early, but when I got there I had to wait 30 extra minutes after my appointment time. But fine who cares it's a small salon and they were just over packed. So I waited until it was my turn and a lady started off my nails and then she switched me to her husband where he would finish I noticed he wasn't filing or buffing them. So I thought that they were just so good that they didn't need to do that but when he started putting on the polish you could see all of the bumps and grooves of when he put it on the acrylic. So I told him that I didn't like it. And I also noticed that one hand was significantly shorter than the next so I just started wondering what can I do or say to make to make him be able to fix it. I tell him all of the things that I don't like, I was on the phone and I realized I was being rude so I got off before I told him what I don't like. and he tries to fix it which I was so happy and pleased that he was doing but he only did it to one hand. So I was confused and I tell him that the other hand was bad too. So he calls over his wife screaming that I don't like anything. So she comes over and I tell her what my problem was and instead of trying to fix it she screams to me and tells me that when I came in my nails were terrible and I didn't get a full set I only got to fill so she can't fix anything. So I'm wondering why can you not fix it it's the easiest thing to do can you just make them even in the same shape. They're both yelling at me telling me that I don't want to pay, being racist and that I am cross eye so I don't know what I'm talking about being absolutely rude. I'm whispering to them and trying to reason with them because I'm in the service industry myself and I know how it feels to be ripped off I have no intentions of walking out of there without paying for the service that I got done. So I talk to them regularly and ask them if there's anyway that they can just fix it and I will pay anything for them to just fix it . She still yelling at me telling me that she understands but there's nothing that she can do because I walked in there with my nails looking terrible and that I got a fill instead of a full set. So I start to get my things to leave and I asked them how much do I owe them for what they did. She starts screaming that I don't want to pay her so that's why I don't want to get them fixed so she's going to call the police. I said I will pay you I just want them fixed can you do that still trying to reason with them there was absolutely no reasoning so I tell her that I am trying to pay what I owe and charge me $15 for foolishness. But I rather keep myself composed and make sure other people know that they are a really awful set of people and I felt so much anger about my nails. And them insulting me. So if you get your nails done they're good for you but you obviously don't like your nails being done properly or to even look the similar. I had to leave and go somewhere else to finish them. This salon sucks honestly, the only good person there is Nina she does amazing designs and nobody else there does them but here but my nails always fall off after 2 weeks and I went into da vi nails in the Stuart Walmart Kavin and his wife are soooo good and also cheap but as to Cali nails . Don't go here. I asked for a gel french manicure. After a few hrs, the white turned yellow. The next day, it started chipping. The picture is after 2 days. I went back to ask for a refund. The lady said she would repaint or give me back $10. I had a french pedicure and I left a tip. I want the cost of the service. She said she was being fair. I made a reservation for 3 of us to have mani pedi togehter and specifically asked if we could be done together. When we arrived for our appointment all techs were in the middle of other services. But I noticed there were 3 seats together for pedis so I thought we'd be good. While we waited they seated another client in a pedi chair that broke up the 3 seats together then they wanted to start us at different times. VERY DISAPPOINTED in this place. I didn't want to go to this place because I know from past experience how bad they are but I had no choice but to give them another chance and was once again not happy.  They don't listen to anything I asked, which I made sure to do multiple times, and he still didn't listen. He made it very apparent that he didn't want to be there and that doing his job was the last thing he wanted to do. This place sucks and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone! They suck and they don't like to actually work and when they do they never do a good job. The only redeeming quality in the whole place is the daughter who does the designs, she's amazing! I have been going to California Nails off and on for years. Lisa the owner does a great job, but always seems down and not happy. Customers need to feel welcome and appreciated and business owners need to express how valued their customers are. After all there is more than one nail salon in that particular strip mall. I came in here for the first time today because it's walking distance from my house. Everybody was so nice to me. I was so embarrassed about my disgusting toe nails. They were very pleasant towards me. I got a manicure and pedicure. They had to put fake toe nail on my big Toe. My feet were so bad but they made the nails look real and beautiful. This place was horrible. I went in for a fill and was given horrible service and my nails looked pretty bad. The acrylic was poorly applied and didn't even cover my whole nail. The gel topcoat was the same way. I unfortunately had a meeting to get to, and did not have time for them to be fixed at that time. I thought the acrylic was filed a little thin, but 2 days later when half of my nails had cracks and dents in them, I was really concerned. It is now 5 days after my manicure and all but one of my nails has little cracks in it. When I went in to speak to someone about having them fixed, the nail tech in the store was EXTREMELY rude and even yelled at me when I asked for her manager's number. She refused to help and wouldn't call the manager herself until I got visibly angry. It was ridiculous. Worst customer service ever. Do not go here. It's cheap, but not at all worth it. I have been coming here for over ten years. For the last year there customer service is getting worse. They don't have enough employees which cause a long wait time. Or they rush you out the chair by doing mediocre nails. I love NiNa. But I will no longer be doing my nails here. Read Less
