Very happy with our choice to visit this salon for pedicures. I’m typically very sensitive to the strong nail polish smell at many places. I was a bit worried when we first arrived as there was a strong smell but they had pretty good ventilation and the oder disappeared quickly. First, the pluses.  The place is clean.  They use plastic liners for the tubs and instruments that are sterilized.  That's it. Now for the bad stuff.I went there with 2 friends for the first time today. When I sat down the water in the foot bath was cold, so I told the tech about it (in a polite way). She heaved a great sigh, then drained the bath, yanked out the liner, put in a new one and ran the hot water. This time it was boiling. I tried to endure it but it really burned, so I asked her to cool it down.  She rolled her eyes at me and made a comment in Vietnamese.Meanwhile, my 2 friends are being offered cold drinks and being pampered. My tech then started on my feet. The trim was adequate if not even and smooth. The "massage" consisted of rubbing my legs up and down and up and down. No kneading. No pressure. Just up and down while staring into space. When she got to my feet, there was very little pressure and none of the accupressure I expected.  In fact, she did not even touch my toes (which, if you're wondering, are not gross). My friends were in ohhing and aahing next to me as their techs massaged their feet and legs, including the toes.Then she asked me if I wanted a salt scrub, very good for removing dead skin, she said.  I said OK until she said it was "only $7 more." I told her I changed my mind, but apparently she didn't understand me.More lethargic up and down rubbing on the legs, no real massage, just rubbing stuff in. My friends are having conversations with their people.  Mine is sullen and distracted. I don't need to make a friend at the nail salon, but I don't think you should be snarling at customers.When I went to check out, the price was $35, not the $28 advertised. I just paid it and got out.I wish I knew the name of the tech, so I could warn you to ask for someone else. This salon has a good reputation. This particular person could single-handedly destroy it with her attitude. By the way, I was never offered a drink or even a smile. My wife and I were given the VIP treatment. Very clean. Even though it was time for them to close they did not rush and took the time to do a fantastic job. Will definitely be back. Worth the trip from the Atlantic side to come back. Read Less

I hate to give them a bad review because the salon is beautiful and the staff was so nice, but while the manicure was enjoyable the coats were uneven, did not go to the edge of my nails and bubbled a bit. Read Less

I went here because of the number of great reviews and had gel manicure and pediure. There were however two major problems:1) I was not very happy with the result:- one thumb had bubbles in the gel polish- the cuticles were not cut properly on my hands. They were cracked and hard.- the nail technician cut too much of my cuticles on one of my tores and left a cut. It hurt a little when he was working on me, but I thought I might had a scratch there from being on the beach and didn't notice until I got home, that it was because he had been too eager with his tools.2) They lack basic understanding of customer service:Staff was talking so much to each other. They would be all over the salon and speaking really loud to each other across the room. I was the only customer left in the salon for the last hour and there were at that point about 4-5 staff + visiting friends, who were having a loud conversation/discussion in Vietnamese. The man who was working on me was more focused on participating in the conversation than on what he was doing on my hands. At one point he even asked me, if he had already put top coat on one of my hands.Talking so loud with colleagues and friends while you have customers, is not ok. And when it's in a foreign language, it's even worse. It doesn't matter if it's in Vietnamese, Swedish or German. I'm from Denmark and I would never be like this if there was someone present, who didn't understand my language. This place is the best! I broke a nail and needed it fixed, plus a needed a fill :) they got me in right away and the girl did my nails. She listened to exactly what I wanted and exceeded my expectations. She did a better job then other nail salons in this area! Plus their prices are even better!! Very clean and very friendly. Best pedicure I've ever had. I don't know why I haven't ever gotten a deluxe pedicure before. The scrub, hot stone massage, the mask, and paraffin dip made my skin feel amazing. And the people were so nice! Highly highly recommend!! The salon is very clean and cute too! Read Less

Called ahead by about 30 minutes and they were able to accommodate 4 pedicures. Employees were very friendly and entertaining. Served us wine and we had a really fun time. Very clean and lots of color options. Highly recommend! Read Less

I drove around checking out several nail salons near my new house here and settled on this one after reading the yelp reviews. I'm so glad I chose Mai Nails! The people who work there are very friendly and they do their work with meticulous care. Lina did my gel manicure and deluxe pedicure ($55) and I'm thrilled with it. When she took off my toenail polish she discovered that my big toenail had been broken near the base and was all dead, lifting right off when she touched it. I must have banged it when moving. She said that's ok she would take care of it and she did- she was very careful throughout the cleaning and filing part of the pedicure not to hurt it. She gave me an excellent foot massage, focusing on the areas where I was having pain, and repaired my broken nail with silk wrap and glue. When she painted it I couldn't even tell it was torn! I went last night to this nail salon for the first time and I was so impressed by how super nice and friendly everyone there was. They're all so attentive and the place is really cute and clean! I got my nails done by the girl! She's definitely a perfectionist! Hands down one of the best manicurist that I've ever had in my life! She's super sweet and does the most amazing job. Disappointed, went here because of high reviews. My pedicure was done very sloppy and my gel manicure started chipping off on the next day! I am not surprised since, the old gel wasn't removed fully. I had to keep pointing to the traces of old gel color. The guy who was doing my manicure didn't mind that the old gel wasn't removed properly. They will up sell you on a bunch of services and they are nice, but doing a not a good job! Read Less

I picked this spot because of the (mostly) great reviews. The experience, however, was unsatisfactory. I made a reservation for 2 gel manicures.  We got there, the girl didn't ask how I wanted my nails shaped, just filed them down and slapped on the gel. It took about 20 mins. None of the basic manicure elements (cuticles cut, nails buffed, hand massage) were included. And at the end, the gel wasn't even and my nails had to be refiled at home. We were in town for a wedding. Two other girls coincidentally booked the same place the next day and also left disappointed. Advice: keep shopping - they didn't take their time and didn't seem to care about their clients.PS - while I was waiting a piece of acrylic nail flew into my hair. Worst manicure/pedicure ever. I've never gone home from a nail salon and had recut and file my own fingernails before. My pedicure left me with paint all over my toes, which was more work. For something that was supposed to be relaxing during vacation, I sure had a lot of work to do. Read Less

Made an appointment during a short trip to Sarasota.  The salon is relaxing and the staff is friendly. Manicure and pedicure together were $35!! You cant beat that. The foot massage was also better than most. I wish I knew the name of the gentleman who did the mani pedi (younger guy, not the owner). He was so nice and did a great job. Read Less

Even though the staff was really friendly,  the work is not done properly.  My sister and I both got gel pedicures and they both bubbled.  My sister had her's fixed not once but twice and it STILL bubbled.  Even though the staff is nice I would not recommend this nail salon. Read Less

The most lovely, accommodating staff I've ever dealt with at a nail salon. I really enjoyed how the woman who did my manicure and pedicure actually struck up conversations with me, so there wasn't an awkward silence. Had a gel manicure and a pedicure here. The decor is very nice - clean, relaxing, pretty - and the lady very pleasant.  The gel polish was very nicely done indeed and lasted as expected. The rest of the manicure was pretty perfunctory, as was the pedicure. Nothing wrong with either but not more than 30 seconds massage each hand & lower arm, and very brief foot & calf massage. Maybe I've become spoiled by my usual pedicure place where they spend about ten minutes on each foot & leg. All in all, nothing special and I don't think I'd go back unless the spirit moved me as I was in the immediate vicinity. Read Less
