Don't make the mistake I made.   Called and asked for someone good with bobs and knew the latest hair styles.   they gave me Ellie.   Sweet girl, but it is the absolute worst haircut I have ever had and had to pay again to get it fixed at another salon.   Instead of a bob - I have no idea what I got - very bad shape - think one length, triangle shape, or buster brown.   When I asked her to taper the bottom (like a bob, duh) she did not know what that word meant.   Not very proficient in English, unfortunately -I said "cut" "layer" "lose some hair" "closer to my head" everything I could think of - and it didn't seem like she understood.    After a night of being upset - the next day, I went  back to get it fixed.  I was very nice - explained again - and she kept saying it was my hair and if she did more it would be bad. There were three stylists standing there and no one else volunteered to help fix my hair they just stood there. By this time I am absolutely livid - so I walked out.  All this - horrible cut (and I am not talking just "so-so" cut - no big deal -- I am talking like actually embarrassed  - (canceled an event because I didn't want anyone I knew to see my hair) - it was a whopping $185 !!!!!   (including shampoo and conditioner I bought and tip)   While I was waiting, I also watched a young man - literally chop a women's hair - completely uneven in the back ( her  side that I was facing).   good thing the lady couldn't see it.Bright side - receptionist who had been there forever was very nice.        Place is pretty Read Less

What a great salon! I had Brazilian Keratin treatment done by Stacy. I'm used to my keratin treatments not lasting, but this time it's been over 3 months and I can say my hair hasn't looked this healthy in years. Not only was Stacy professional, she was a pleasure to deal with. I recommend this salon highly, it's in a wonderful location and the staff is very nice. Initially, I came to Les Ciseaux because the other salon I have been using on the Island was closed on the days I needed service. I am so glad! My blonde base correction, color and highlight results with Dawn are perfect.I went back for a blowout the next week and after checking out the service menu, I decided to try the spa for a facial and lash color with Maneer(?). It was another exceptional experience.The staff here is top notch. I find the prices very reasonable for the level of service I have received. Always try to need a haircut when we come to Longboat Key. This place is professional and efficient. Sachi gives the best haircut I have ever had. She is like a surgeon in her precision. You know it's a good cut when even your teenagers tell you "your hair looks good." Read Less

Had a couple terrible experiences with this salon just before my wedding. From the salon mixing up my appointment for my eyelash extensions even after confirmed a few days prior, to not being organized the day of the wedding with getting everyone out by my specified (planned ahead) time, promising to meet me to place my veil at wedding site and never showing up, and keeping my mother waiting in the pedi chair during our mani pedi day and taking another client before her (once... again this was scheduled). I will never be coming back. Not to mention. I booked a hair and makeup trial a month before. During this trial the owner worked with multiple other clients and had stopped working with me. I saw other clients come and go as I sat there waiting. Never felt like a priority or received the service you would expect. The owner was doing my hair for the wedding. They forgot pictures and couldn't remember what she had done. As for my makeup, the person who did my trial was supposed to do my makeup for the wedding. Morning of the wedding she never showed up. I went there for a Brazilian blowout, not knowing the particular stylist that would be working on my hair. How lucky I was to get Stacy!!!! I have been getting Brazilian blowouts for quite a few years in Pittsburgh, but never have I had one with such great results as the one I got from Stacy! Thank you so much! Walked in while on vacation. Staff very nice and attentive. Got some free champagne with my pedicure. The facilities are very nice and clean. My pedicure in all was extremely relaxing, included scrub and foot and calf massage with hot stones and all. Only objection was the actual outcome of the pedicure. Horrible customer service, management was indignant and absolutely no attempt was made to try and rectify the situation.  Serving such distinguished and affluent clientele, i was disgusted and disappointment with the treatment i received. Last August I had a destination wedding in Bradenton Beach, Florida and my bridal party, my mom, my husband's mom, and myself went there for our hair, make-up, and nails, and had a wonderful experience. I must admit I arrived to the salon at 2:50 for my 3:00 appointment and found no one there. All lights were off and no signage was up stating they were returning soon. I called and got the machine.. Starting to freak out! I took a deep breath and vegan to search for another salon that could do an up do for a wedding I was attending at 5pm.. I decided to give Les Ciseaux one more call to see if someone managed to show up.. Thank GOD someone answered the phone and she was opening for my appointment.After I had my mini panic attack, I decided to try to relax and go into the salon with a level head.. When I arrived I was greeted by a lovely woman from the UK. She apologized for being late and explained that this weekend wasn't very busy so they were working on as-needed appointments. I understood, but was a bi more nervous I was their only customer... The "do" goes on. After all that panicking and rushing around I left that salon with an up do that I absolutely LOVED!!! The stylist was very creative, friendly, and sweet! I ended up purchasing some Jane Iredale makeup to boot! Although I haven't been there since it's changed ownership I can without a doubt tell you it can only get better!  The staff is the most talented around, especially, well, everyone!  Star stylists Francisco and Dawn are copiously supported by ridiculously talented senior and junior stylists.  Sachiko, Loan, and Shirley and equally fabulous and can offer such different styles and talents for all kinds of hair needs!  Owner, Angela is also a fabulous stylist with an eye for making drab into fab!  People, hair, houses, salons, you name it!  Located in St. Armands Circle, the location can't be beat!  Steps away from the best food and shops in Sarasota, Les Ciseaux offers comfort, expertise and all that is wonderful about salons!
