**DONT GO HERE, THEY DONT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING,PERMANENTLY DAMAGED MY FACE ** Went in for a eyebrow wax on thursday before my engagement photos this weekend. They applied wax way down onto my eyelid with wax that was way too hot and ripped off my skin. I was left with scabs and burns. I called the next day asked if there was a manager in, which they said there was so i drove back to ask for advice and how to stop the pain and to show them what happend. (It hurt to put coconut oil, even water) When i asked for a manager. Said they were not here today, (i called 10 min ago) They put me in the back room to talk and Told me that it was normal and just put makeup ontop of it for pictures...when i tried to get up and leave (after they refused to give me my full payment back) the woman placed her hand on my sholder and sat me back down. I am a makeup artist, I have been to cosmetology school. You DO NOT put makeup on open wounds, AND you never put hot wax onto the eyelid. They were rude, and suddleny did not speak english as soon as there was an issue. Would not admit to doing anything wrong. Now i will have discoloration on my eye lids forever. I am 23 and i look like i was punched in eye for my engagement photos. Very very very upset. Read Less

Burned the skin off the eye part of the lid, not even close to the brow. Staff pretends not to speak English when confronted with the pain and scaring, refused to let me speak to a manager OR owner. **AVOID** Read Less

Worst experience ever!! Waist of time. Called to check if they do a refill on powder dip. Only took them 4 hours, to mess everything, from taking off- messy, to doing powder - uneven, bumps, top layer- peeled off on next day. On top of everything gave me finger infection from their sharp nails cutting into my skin. And at check out, I complained , but still got charged full price. Read Less

I got the 25 dollar pedicure. Many colors to choose from and they got me in right away. They have a massage chair for you to sit in while you're getting the pedicure. The water initially was extremely hot but the girl fixed the temperature. She seemed kind of snappy with me and I asked her a question which I don't know if she understood correctly but didn't really answer it and said something to her 2 friends beside her and laughed about it. Now I'm not completely sure that this is what they were laughing about but from that point on she didn't say a word to me. The pedicure was great along with the massage but I'm going somewhere else next time. Your product can be good but if the service isn't executed properly, then it's not worth the money. Read Less

I am very unimpressed. I went in for a simple Manicure, and felt like I was on a conveyor belt.  I was in and out of that seat in about 12 minutes, so that translates to a dollar a minute because the manicure was $12. No water to even put my hands or nails in, & the quickest lotion job I've ever had, and not a very good manicure either. How could it be in such a short time? I just don't really understand why such a ridiculous rush, with the exception of every pedicure seat being full, there was still some available technicians and many empty manicure seats. I was attracted by the gleaming Yelp reviews only to be sorely disappointed. I called to make an appointment for two and the person who answered said to "come now" so we arrived within 10 minutes. We arrived, only to be questioned about why we were there. Clearly no techs were available to do our nails. Fast forward, my little sister and I both get our manicures done. Her nails are very poorly painted with smudging everywhere. My nails were quickly painted by the owner (her next scheduled client was waiting) with tons of spots here and there. Not to mention, mine was shellac, so she could have done an extra coat to mitigate the spot issue. She also filed my nails after setting the gel (which should never be done because it breaks the gel seal); of course the gel started lifting within the week. Pros: They use warming pads to soften your cuticles before removal, extremely quiet (no uncomfortable Vietnamese conversations the whole time), owner greets clients as they arrive/depart. Went here for the first time after reading the yelp reviews had been going to my old nail place for about 10 years or more and decided to switch it up. I was very pleased everyone was friendly and funny nice to be around offered me drinks. They took they're time made sure everything was perfect didn't leave any nail polish on the sides of my nails or anything made sure everything was straight and even. Will be going back! The BEST gel manicure I have ever gotten...and I've had quite a few. This past weekend I got a terrible gel manicure at a different place. Since I'm going out of town on business, I didn't want to risk another disaster by having that salon fix it. Essence took me as a walk-in (although I'll make an appointment next time to ensure they have time) and were happy to help fix my nails. I didn't catch his name, but the guy who did my nails was fantastic. He paid such close attention to detail, fixing every possible mistake he could have made. He was much gentler than most manicurists and you could tell he truly cared about doing a good job. I couldn't be happier! The place was clean, the staff was friendly, and even the customers were happy to be there. I will be back for sure! Heads up - they only take cash tips. One of the few nail salons that are sanitary! It's often overlooked, and since I'm in cosmetology school, I know state laws & regs and they are very up to date. I love that they have safety regs by the pedicure stations! Shows they're aware. They do use drills on the nail bed when applying acrylics, which is not technically allowed. But every salon I've ever been to has done that. Not specific to this salon, but be aware if you are getting acrylics that the nail will be damaged and will take about 6 months for your new strong nail to grow back after they're taken off. Not worth it for one event! I had them on for years, but when they were taken off, it was a long 6 months off nails splitting and terrible ridges. Very clean and mostly friendly. Pedicure was great! Manicure left something to be desired. My husband and I went together as treat. Our appointments were later in the day and I could tell my manicurist wanted to get out of there. But, again, pedicure was great and prices are reasonable. I will be back! Read Less

I have been going to Essence Nails for almost a year and a half on a weekly basis. I get gel fills, waxing, and pedicures. (Kim gives a wonderful pedicure.) The shop is clean, the operators are very friendly, and whoever does my procedure always does an excellent job. I can't praise this salon highly enough. Read Less

I have been to Essence three times already and I love the job they have done on my nails.  The pedicures and Shellac manicures are fantastic.   I used to go to the Salon next door and my nails always chipped, were badly done, it was more expensive and the service was awful.  I am very happy with Essence Nails. I had the mani/pedi combo, and it was one of the better ones I have had. The salon has really nice massaging chairs, which are actually relaxing vs painful like some. The price was great for what I got, which was the salt scrub, hot towels, etc. I am only here on vacation but will definitely plan another trip to Essence Nails when I come back! Read Less

I went to Essence Nails on Thursday, 11/29 and it was the BEST manicure and pedicure I've ever had (and that's saying a lot!). We purchased a Deali-O ran by The Observer newspaper, so we received the Ultimate Pedicure/Manicure at a discounted rate... and the value just could not be beat.The pedicure included several different scrubs, a moisturizing lotion with steam towel wrap, and ended with the most relaxing hot stone foot massage. The nail technician was so professional and no doubt my shiny pedicure and manicure will last a long time. I can't wait to go back! First time in and will never return. Salon personnel only spoke in their native language, my tech never spoke to me and I suspect she could not understand English. French manicure lasted only one day and tech piled many coats on. Also used a color cover that I did not ask for..I told her a light, soft pink...color looked awful in the sunlight.
