I have never had such a horrible experience with a nail salon. Not only were my cuticles and nail beds sore for days afterward, but the nails that I have spent the last two months growing out (a goal of mine by the end of 2016) were completely ruined. I went in to have SNS put on, after calling and asking whether they knew how to do so, and it was clear within an half hour of being there that they hadn't had much experience with the product. I chose to give them the benefit of the doubt, and unfortunately it came back to bite me. Raney soaked off the SNS that was on my nails by having me steep my fingers in acetone for over a half hour, then liberally using a drill, file, and buffer to scrape off the rest. I was wincing throughout this experience, but she didn't really let up, resulting in my fingers having scabs on them around my nails throughout the next few days. Despite professing to have colored powder SNS, they really only had the "natural" filling, leaving me with having to paint over top the SNS after it's application. On top of that the SNS wasn't allowed to dry properly, leading to my nails being tacky for up to 4 hours after the visit. I ended up getting acetone and removing the polish and SNS, resulting in my nails being dry and brittle. While Raney & Patti seemed very nice, the service they performed was lackluster, and ended with all my natural nails breaking off. I requested my money back (which was ridiculously expensive to begin with) and got a full refund. Overall, the experience was lacking in professionalism (Patti's son came in the salon a few minutes into our visit and spent the entire visit making jokes about his last night of drinking) and clearly in the know-how necessary to properly use the product. A certification wasn't clearly visible for Raney, so I'm unsure about her licensing. They should take a tip from the sign hanging behind Patti's table - be certain your technician is certified and knowledgeable, and a good salon should never leave their clients in pain! Read Less

I rarely get pedicures because of a previous infection I got at a salon.  However, Tips & Toez was recommended by someone I trust and I was in desperate need of a professional pedicure.  Patty was amazing....on time...and it was clear from the start that she is a "pro."  It's been 2 weeks and they still look I just had them done!  The atmosphere is very friendly.  I am purchasing gift certificates for Christmas.  I loved it!BeverlyWashington, DC & Sanibel Read Less

I loved the place and the people even though kind of slow. The work on my nails was disappointing. One nail already broke and that has never happened to me before. My other nails are separating. Home from vacation and have to get nails redone. Huge disappointment!Read Less

What a cute place and fun and friendly staff. Pattee consistently does an excellent job on my nails. It never fails, the minute I leave the shop someone always comments on how pretty my nails are. One time I was not able to make it in to the shop for my appointment because I was under the weather. She not only refused to cancel my appointment.  But she came to my home and did them ( Great job). They just never cease to amaze me. Terrible, overpriced pedicure.  There are no pedicure chairs (I was told they aren't sanitary, but I personally did not feel they were overly concerned with sanitation at this place...).  The wicker chair setup is uncomfortable; I wasn't offered a towel to put over my lap (I was wearing a dress) even though the young girl doing my nails insisted I put BOTH feet up in the air at the same time.  Very strange and awkward.  The polish job was horrible.  I could have done a better job myself, with one eye closed.  It took her about 10 seconds to paint all 10 toes, it was a very shoddy, rushed job and she used a brush to clean up the edges afterward.  Several of my toenails weren't fully painted, and I had to ask her to fix them.  She even smudged my nail at the end of my pedicure rushing to empty the very odd foot whirlpool basin, and didn't even notice.  I had to ask her to fix it.  I would not return and do not recommend this place.  I paid almost twice what I pay for a professional, hot stone pedicure in Rittenhouse Square (Philly) and received a very poor quality pedicure.  The service I received was maybe worth $20, at most, not $50.  The salon itself is clean, brightly colored and inviting, the staff was friendly, and they were able to accommodate me as a walk-in, but I was very disappointed and frankly left feeling like I'd been ripped off.  The young girl doing nails clearly has no training at all, and I think the salon needs to take the time to teach her how to provide a professional pedicure before charging customers.
