Went to this location a few weeks back for waxing and just booked my second appointment. Very easy to book on the phone and you can also book online. Would definitely recommend the waxing here!The spa is in an adorable victorian-esque house, so it's not your typical space which I liked. The waiting area is that of a high end spa, with complimentary tea and coffee, comfy chairs, and an extensive line of products for purchase. Taylor did my waxing. She was super friendly and made me feel very comfortable, and we had a great conversation which helped distract from the pain of waxing! The only negative was she missed a few swaths of hair on my thighs...but I really can't blame her because my hair is extremely light and fine textured, I didn't even realize until after I got home later that day. Online booking was super easy and convenient for me! The front desk girl was very sweet during check in and check out. I've been multiple times over the last couple years and have had waxes with Leslie and she is beyond amazing!! Super quick but extremely efficient and talks with you as if you've known each other forever! This was my first visit to this location. I artived and checked in. My nail tecnichian was running behind 10 or 15 minutes. I was taken back where there was two chairs. A women sitting in one of the chairs. She was there the entire time and no on was working on her, my guess is she was someone friend. Which is fine except for she kept playing videos on her phone without wearing headphones which made it hard to relax and not a spa like atmosphere. The tecnichian never said anything to her. It's different, not your typical spa. They don't have massage chairs and they soak your feet is a large bowl so there are no jets or a way to keep the water warm. The water stayed warm for the most part. She did a good job except for the polish started coming off the next day. Usually my polish on my toes lasts much longer.Overall the expierence was ok. By far (far far!) the very best facial in St. Pete, and I have tried many spas searching for the perfect facial. Leslie is professional, skilled, and just wow (yes, sometimes there are no words to describe that extra element) and gives you the ability to really relax by working quietly until your facial is done. Kudos on her pressure with massage (I like pressure!) Her work with extractions is painless and perfect and so is her shaping and waxing of my eyebrows. The new non DT Pia is a less clinical setting, away from the higher pressure, non easy parking downtown bustle, and I did love it. Sure, the services are expensive given the setting, but if that means scheduling a bit less often than the cheaper spas where everything is an add on, so be it. One small note: it probably pays to be a regular..though everyone was kind to me, I was not offered any beverages upon arrival as I might be when I go to the premier DT place with the same prices, nor a chance to relax after my service with a hot mug of tea. Nor was I sent home with any skin care samples. Shame, because these details do count. But I look forward to my next visit nonetheless. I also gave Leslie a 5 star review on Yelp, too, as promised! I just had an anti aging facial with Leslie and I do not think 5* are quite enough. First, I prefer this location to the old one DT, much less stressful. Sure, it's pricier than other options but if that means going a bit less (as is my case), it is still SO worth it, believe me. This was my first facial I've ever received. I chose the "deep pore rescue" facial since I have congested pores that I just wanted to free! Lola asked me if this was my first time and walked me through the process and explained everything she was about to do and put on my face! She asked me about my skin concerns and we talked more about my skin regimen and products I use. She gave me recommendations on how I could reduce my blaackheads and clogged pores. I am visiting from NYC and have yet to find a waxing place or person with so much attention to detail and care as she put into my wax today. My experience was wonderful! I've been suffering from headaches for several weeks and after discussing it with the therapist...she worked her magic! I haven't had a headache since yesterday morning before I saw her, and I usually have 2 a day. First of all, I've been getting my eyebrows and lashes dyed with Nicole for a few months and she does a great job. This review is for a facial with Lola:Yesterday I had a Perfecto Facial with Lola. When we got to the extractions, it was painful for me so we agreed that she would try to do a few but if it was too much that she would stop. She ended up being able to do a couple of extractions but for others she stopped if it hurt too much. The Next morning I woke up to find a dark red spot on an area where she tried to do an extraction. It is a small bump where blood has pooled underneath from her trying to extract a blackhead. I did not have any red spots there on my face before this facial so image my anger when I woke up the next day to a face that looks worse than before.I called Pia to see if anything could be done about this. I was given the response to put ice and cortizone cream to help with the swelling. I told them there is no swelling but a blood blister and again described my issue. I was told that they would speak to a manager and call me back.The manager did call be back very soon. I again explained why I was unhappy. She mentioned that she had never heard of such a thing unless someone was on blood thinners or other medication, which I am not. She even had the audacity to tell me that the esthestician said she did not perform any extractions on me when I know that she did. Trust me you can tell when they are trying to do one. The solution they came to was to call me back in a few days to see if it has cleared up. Not helpful. I was also told for being unsatisfied with my facial they would give me 20% off another facial or a free pedicure. Neither of these help. I can absolutely not recommend going to Pia for a facial.
