Walked in today, very trepidatious as I have not found a single nail salon in the St. Augustine/Palm Coast area that I like.  This small salon, ideally situated on Highway 1 was awesome!  The owner cheerfully greeted each new patron, and many by first name.  After choosing my nail polish color, I was immediately seated and got probably the best pedicure ever with what seemed like an unending foot massage.  The nail tech then gave me one of the best manicures ever.  I was very impressed.  The owner spoke to many patrons asking about thier children, etc.  It is obvious that the owner is invested and part of the community, and he has a new client, due to the excellent service and wonderful customer service I witnessed! this place was not good customer service wise AT ALL... during my friends appointment, the man doing her nails got up and walked out TO HAVE A SMOKE BREAK. On top of that another customer walked in and was seated at a station for 5 minutes, the man did the basic looking over of her nails while she chose a colour... as she was choosing he got up and walked out for 5 minutes , when he walked back in he sat down at someone else's station and started working in someone else's pedicure for 15 minutes until someone else freed and he took that customer so that station... ridiculous Read Less

Usually, this place welcomes me and lets me know how long the wait is. I've come regularly for months as there are nice, decent nail technicians here. This time they had a sign-in sheet. A little impersonal, but they were busy. There were 3 ahead of me, so I waited. I figured it'd be a 30-40 minute wait. No one bothered to say. A woman came in at around my minute 20, and one salon worker, maybe the owner...the loud one who you often wish would lower his voice, told her the wait was too long. She said something and he told her he'd fit her in. 30 minutes later, after the woman had left and come back, they called for the next person. I indicated it was me as those there before me had gone, but the guy looked at the sign in and said it was her. It wasn't. I left and won't be back. Read Less

When the workers are speaking in their native tongue i try not to assume they're talking about me but today the man confirmed that they were talking about me and that another nail technician told him the my eyebrows were too big/ugly and I need them done. Tried this place.  The owners' kids are there.  The husband owner is loud, obnoxious, and not funny. He thinks he is. He's the only one laughing. He also grinds your nailbeds too deep. The other guy who did my nails is no longer there. He did great work, took his time, always professional. My nails never yellowed, cracked, or chipped off. Tried a few others there, was disgusted. My last visit was 3 hours long!!! Just for a manicure and a design. Waited an hour for the design, (already paid for). I won't be going back. Disgusted,  frustrated, and greatly disappointed. This place is SO bad and SO UNCLEAN!! they do NOT thoroughly clean the pedicure tubs and the manager and staff are very rude even if you ask a simple question. They do not acknowledge that our time is valuable as well, and they expect you to wait for hours until being recognized. Then they proceed to treat you with a grumpy attitude. If I could give them negative stars I would. I went into Rose on 5/9/17 to get a gel fill in. I had white tips on and a gel overlay. I saw Phillip. When I sat down he asked where I got my nails done, when I said it was at another salon he took a pair of nail clippers and began clipping away the bottom part of the nail that had lifted a little. I didn't say anything because I've had this done before at other salons, I thought he'd clip it off then replace the gel. Nope, after he clipped all the way up to the white tip he said that needed to come off too, and removed the tips. He then told me it would be full price for a new set, even though I never asked him to take the old set off. I paid for the removal ($10) and left. I was upset so my husband called to talk to Phillip about a possible solution and Phillip called him stupid, and told him to come to the salon so he could "handle him like a man". How is this place still in business? Absolutely the worst nail salon and service I have witnessed. First, the line was out the door (as they are the only one open on Sunday) and no one knew what was going on. Luckily, I was getting a pedicure so he told me to go sit down on the chair. I sat there awkwardly with no water, not knowing what to do, for about 20 Minutes while in the meantime no one else had been helped. They were barking at customers, telling them what to do with rude attitudes. Also, the nail tech in the front was yelling back in forth to her child in the very back. It was very uncomfortable the whole time. I would not recommend and definitely will never be back. I have been going to Rose nails for nearly 8 yrs. I have never been disappointed . I work in an industry that requires my nails and toes to be photographed regularly and have come in before shoots with some pretty extreme requests. They have always given me exactly what I wanted or as close to it as possible. The family run business is alive with chatter and local chit chat and makes you feel right at home . If a sterile, silent  spa setting is your preference then you will not. E comfortable here. However if you desire a taste of true LOCAL flavor and an environment where you do not feel uncomfortable showing up in joggers and a messy bun , where the staff offer you a relaxed not pretentious yet professional Service  then THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE!  (You cannot bring your noisy destructive children to a business and not tip then complain about the noise level and services provided) as I have seen people do regarding this business. Phillip and family welcome you and your kids even on their worst day and provide you with the same standard of service no matter what. One of the worst pedicures I have ever gotten. The bath was cold, no pressure applied on massage and calluses not removed. On my wedding day myself and 12 other girls came here and got mani/pedi's! They did an amazing job and we're professional and fun at the same time! I live in Missouri and I'm so glad that we all chose to go there and get our mani/pedi's. They even let is being in our own drinks! Read Less

Absolute worst nail salon I've ever been to. Was not even acknowledged when I walked in. There was nobody else waiting. Finally stood up and asked for help. Someone said "ok". Nobody looked at me for 20 minutes. Finally asked how long would it be. Could barley get the girl to look up from her phone and answer me. What a horrible place. I will never be back. Read Less

Awful. Awful owner (I think) who does not know how to run a business. He's rude to both customers and employees. It might be a couple bucks cheaper than nearby nail salons but at least other places can guarantee a more relaxing and enjoyable experience. Plus there drying station wasn't functioning properly. Horrible. I tried Rose Nails for a pedi because they are open on Sundays. Customer service is very poor. Walk-ins welcome however when I walked in they just stared at me. Looks run-down and the chair I was sitting in was broken. Pedi was poor there was paint all over my toes. Not relaxing at all. Never going there again. Read Less
