I used to love this place. The way they do my nails is awesome, believe me I love it! In the beginning, they always charged me for something that I didn't get, I always had to complain. (I didn't pay attention to this because I love their work); But recently, I realized that in the price list they have one price but they have been charging me $5 to $15 more. I have been going to LaMer Salon for years. Diana is the best nail technician I have ever had. I moved here in 1982, therefore I have utilized numerous salons. Her work is clean and swift for a beautiful result. I get Nexgen mani and gel pedi. I can't state enough how clean and beautiful LaMer Salon is. Not satisfied. I asked and for Signature pedicure which clearly states callous removal. Instead the person just used some kind of scrub and did t even rinse it off.And I left with the same callous heals I went in with.I told the manager and they offered to scrape my heal with a cheese grater- which is not legal in a salon to begin with, and I said no thanks. I will never return to this spa. I have friends in town last weekend so I made a reservation for 4 at 1:30pm. When I arrived it took 20 minutes to be seated and I sat in the chair with a dry boil for another 10 minutes. When I mentioned this to personal, he attempted to raise his voice as if I was not a customer. I hate poor customer service. Any business will loss me as a patron if I am. This store tried to take an extra 10.00 from my credit card. I had to call. My credit card company to dispute the extra money being taken. Make sure you get a receipt because they will try to slip on over you. Got my nails done on Thursday and on Sunday one of my nails broke and is taking part of my nail off with it and now another one of my nails broke. 4 days my nails lasted. I will never be back. Terrible, they didn't even construct my nails the way I wanted. I definitely learned my lesson. Read Less

Woah second time I've been here in a few years and only came back bc it was convenient. I'll have to remember not to do that again. Wasn't happy the first time but this time blew me away. I've never seen anyone paint nails quite like this before- Lisa literally dabbed on the polish in a way that it got all over my fingers and cuticle and proceeded to remove the extra polish on my skin with a brush and nail polish remover . It was bizarre and the worst way I've ever seen nails painted. Kind of had an attitude when I pointed out to her that there was polish all over my skin bc when she was "cleaning" it up asked me repeatedly if that was ok- is that ok to your liking? As if I was being unreasonable. Another weird thing was after massaging my hands with cream from Bed bath and body works (odd) she asked me to wash my hands at a sink at the back. Didn't even put nail polish remover on the nails to remove the cream I guess she expected it to come off with the washing. I kind of guessed that's why she wanted me to wash them and so I was careful to dry each nail with the towel myself bc figured the polish wouldn't stick unless I did. Oh Lawdy. Where to begin?Do I start with the fact that I was held hostage to write a review in front of the owner? Or do I start with the fact that the owner wouldn't let me use my check in offer unless I wrote the review? Yes, both of these unfortunate events happened to me at this salon, and I was only there for about ten minutes. When I walked in, I stated that I just wanted an eyebrow wax. The owner immediately asked me if I wanted my upper lip waxed as well. Was that a passive aggressive way to insinuate that she thinks I have a mustache? (For inquiring minds- I don't) lol. I kindly declined. Moving onto the wax job: the woman that waxed my eyebrows was okay, but she left quite a few hairs and I really wasn't impressed with the shape. When I went to pay, I whipped out my check in offer. The owner then proceeded to tell me that she would only honor the check in offer if I wrote a five star review of the salon-right then and there. I thought maybe she was confused so I replied, "no, this offer is for just checking in, not for writing a review". Well she didn't like my response and continued to insist that I stand there and write a review in her presence. Absolutely the most absurd thing I have ever experienced from a business owner. Eventually I wrote a tip stating that I liked the way my eyebrows turned out. I showed it to her and she honored my check in offer. This was my first time going here. I needed a gel nail polish change and wanted to go somewhere close to home. I was matched with Nancy and was, surprisingly, very pleased given the amount of negative reviews on here. I complained a few times about the shape of one nail being imperfect after she filed my nails -- she was willing to reshape the nail each time. I switched the nailpolish color I originally choose shortly after the process began and thought she would get an attitude -- she did not show any attitude, she simply brought the other colors for me to pick. She didn't rush me, she didn't "gossip" in a foreign language with other coworkers, she didn't hurt me, and she didn't treat me like crap for not also getting a mani/pedi.The only "con" was that Nancy didn't speak much English. This can cause problems because she wasn't able to understand some of my requests but you should be fine as long as one of the other workers who speak better English translate your requests to her. Place is very clean. My first pedicure was ok but I decided to give them another try. Worst pedicure I've ever had. My toenail was even cut crooked, I felt like I was sliding forward out of the chair which was already uncomfortable, and the massage was as if just to get it over with.  Any yucky stuff removed from my toenail was placed on my foot instead of the towel. At first this place is perfect, beautiful clean, and the staff all was very friendly and my gel dip manicure seemed well done until about a week after when my nails all started to crack and break out completely ruining my nails underneath. I've had my nails done consecutively for years now and never have nails ruined my finger nails so much, and the pain of them falling off has been terrible! This place is very beautiful and they seem to follow sanitary procedures. I had an awesome pedicure experience with Kim. However, my manicure experience with Jimmy is what warranted a lower rating. I don't get nail extensions often, but I wanted to try Nexgen. He was quick, but his filing was terribly uneven. It became more evident once my nail polish was dry.  He is very drab and uninviting as well. My intention going in was to see Cindy or Nikki, as other Yelpers recommend, but they both had appointments! Also, be careful about the employees stacking on additional services to your bill. I have a terrible hang nail on the side of my big toe, it got a little infected and I lost my hang nail clippers so I decided to go and get a pedi done with my mom today so I could get them to clip it off. We went and sat down and were distracted by each other, having a great time talking and chilling (just having some overdue girl time) and when we left the place, I looked at my toes and the hang nail was still there, completely untouched. Not to mention, the guy cut my nails way too short and did a terrible paint job, he left the sides of some of my nails 'polishless'. And really? The price was crazy for the both of us, I left paying $46 dollars and had nothing extra done to my nails (the same with my mom), just a regular pedi that cost me a fortune.
