First and last visit to this nail shop.  A few weeks ago, just back from up north, I needed my acrylics trimmed and filled, so made an appt. with Tina.  Most of what she had to say to me was in criticism of the prior tech's work, which I felt was unfair and unprofessional.  That was followed by her burning my nail beds in several places with the drill/sander.  Painful enough to bring tears to my eyes, but no apology from Tina.  After two weeks, the new set of nails was breaking and lifting.  I had planned to have waxing done that day as well, but decided I had experienced enough pain for one day!  Never, ever again!!  I paid my bill and tipped Tina generously, but I have no plans to ever go there again! For over a year, I've have known I needed to quit going here. After this last episode, I've decided it's time time find a new place. Here are just a few reasons - owner's kids fighting with each other, moping around, putting their parents down; every time I have bloody fingers or toes; mani/pedi hurt - not relaxing; owner's hands are dirty; this last episode after waiting in the pedicure tub for 25 min, two people walked in 10 min early for their appt....owner told me he had to take care of them first; he never has enough help since Jimmy and Jennifer left. I've been going to Nail Palace for the last few months after going to a few other places in the Punta Gorda area. I find TINA to be a perfectionist. She does impeccable work. The pedicures are also well done. I have also found that they are less expensive than the rest of the places in the area. I had even been to one place where they did not put the plastic liner in the footbath for a pedicure. Nail Palace makes sure that a plastic liner is in there for each customer and when the customer leaves the liner is removed and a fresh one is placed in when there is a new customer getting a pedicure. The nail palace turned out to be a bad experience while staying in Punta Gorda. I went in and asked for the basic manicure. I was flying to Detroit the next day and wanted my nails to look good for the next 3 days. I didn't need the gel that costs double but lasts about 2 weeks. The young lady was nice and did a French manicure. It looked great!  When I showered the next morning, almost all of the polish came off!  I had time before my flight and went back in to show them what happened. The older woman (presumably the owner) was very rude. Told me polish NO GOOD!  Should have done gel. She very abruptly cleared my nails and roughly sanded them. She kept jerking my hands and pushing them under the ultraviolet light. She was making rude comments in her language to other workers and then wanted to charge me two thirds of the manicure again. After refusing to pay another 20, we split the difference!  Only reason I gave it 2 stars is because it was clean. I won't be back! Read Less

I will never go here again. I got the pink & white manicure - 4 fingers were filed so deeply, they cut the skin and bled - entirely too rough. I have been having nails done for over five years at many places and this was absolutely a bad experience Read Less

I came into Nail Palace on my mother's recommendation (she lives in Punta Gorda). I had a job interview upon returning to DC and need to have my horribly bitten nails made pretty. Jimmy didn't even blink when I presented my 10 nibbled, torn stubs to him for fixing. He gave me the most fantastic set of gels ever. Nice, clean, and professional looking. No chips or peeling 3 days later when I went for my interview (alas, I didn't get the job, but my nails looked totally boss for it). This place is located in a virtually empty strip mall (I think the pet store - which is fantastic - is still there too but not much else). It's pretty busy however, so an appointment is a good idea. I have been to this salon several times. I have had my nails done by Jimmy and Tina. Both were very good. I love Jimmy. He is friendly and does an outstanding job on my nails. Jennifer does my pedicure and she is great too. She takes her time and gives me a great foot massage. I have tried several places and this one has been the best by far for me. Read Less

They pay no attention to appointments. I have made several appointments and am always made to wait up to 45 minutes to see the person I requested. Last week I never got to see her at all . I ended up seeing three different people for a mani/pedi. Go here if you don't mind sitting around for an hour to get your nails done. I am not going back!! Read Less
