Austin gave me a deluxe pedi and it was truly deluxe -- great foot leg massage, nice products, very relaxing. I have a big toe with severe nail fungus, but he dealt with that appropriately and made it look 100 percent better. I will definitely go back for more! Read Less

I was very pleasantly surprised by this establishment. The spa is beautiful and very clean. The staff is friendly. The tech that did my nails Stephen, was very attentive and I felt that making sure I was happy was important to him. i came here to get my eyebrows waxed. the inside looks very nice, but the lady who did my eyebrows laughed at me when she was done doing them. i'm assuming because of how red i looked from them being waxed. once i got a closer look at my eyebrows when i went to my car i saw how uneven she really made them! all the employees just sitting around & being on their phones should've been the first sign to not get them done there! I stop in here every few weeks and normally love the experience. This time was the first time I didn't get a base coat before my polish. Then I had to ask for a top coat. My nails are never stained due to the application of the base coat. I'm more than a little concerned this time. I know there is pressure for them to upsell and I only get a pedicure usually. I just feel somewhat cheated this time. I will give it another shot before giving up altogether on this place but I will request someone specific next time. Read Less

This has to be the worst nail salon I have ever been to. Staff is so robot like, they didnt approach me in a friendly way when I came in. I had 2x male nail techs  both times I came in and never said a word to me while they were doing my nails either times not friendly or personable. I got burned several times by the nail tools . The gel nails that are suppose to last 2 wks lasted only 4 days I went back to get them fixed and rebroke again in 2 days. I thought this place would be good due due the ratings. As soon as you walk inside, the first thing I noticed was the strong, chemical-infused air quality. I stayed nevertheless as I needed a quick mani and didn't have the time to look for another place. Big mistake. The tech doing my nails was nice but I asked to only cut minimum amount of cuticle to which she did the exact opposite. Afterwards I asked her to correct hanging cuticle on four different nails. The massage was quick and just ok. When nails were painted, I had three polish bubbles which I did not mention. But once the "old and thick" top coat was applied, it smudged three of my nails. I asked the tech to correct which she did best way she could...once she told me I was done I examined my nails and red polish was speckled around and under my nail bed which always gets removed as a final touch up (with a thin brush) in the places I have been to... did not mention this as I wanted to leave the stinky, harsh air quality asap. My 1st time here. Paul did my pedicure. I got the $35  one and it was wonderful. Soak scrub massage lotion the works! He took his time and pays attention to detail. I haven't had a pedicure in yrs so granted this time would probably take longer but he spent an hour on my feet. Will definetly be back again. Highly recommended! Read Less

Went in 2 days ago. Asked to have my gel polish removed and a fresh color with a mani. The girl filed my right hand nails WAY too much, they looked awful and became very brittle. They were so weak that I had to have her file them shorter in order to regain some strength. Also my initial color was Twinkle Little Star and does not have much pigment in it. After seeing my nails much shorter I had to change my color. Before she did the next hand I explained that I did not like how much she filed and that it was making my nails too thin & weak. Mind you I am Italian and have thick hair & nails naturally... so typically gel polish is perfect for me as long my nails aren't over filed. The next day, (yesterday) my right finger nail (paint) came off and left me with a hang nail, it happened right after 7, so I waited to go back this morning. After speaking with multiple salon employees about the matter, I found that each of them argued what I told them. Telling me it was my nails that are too thin without even looking. Reasoned that she only shaped them. It seemed like pulling teeth just to get a fix that was necessary due to the condition my nails were left in. Then another employee named Michael came to our station and stared at my body, not my nails after I became very uncomfortable Kathy who was doing my nails hit him multiple times asking him to leave. I asked him if I could help him very angrily, which he followed with a compliment that my nails look nice. I felt that this was very off topic and sarcastic considering he was looking nowhere near my nails. The treatment I received this afternoon was extremely unprofessional. I have been to multiple salons across the nation, in this town, and surrounding area. I have never had so much back talk over an issue caused at the salon. Whenever I have had an issue previously (not common) it was fixed in a jiffy with a great attitude. The way I was spoken to, argued with, and overall treated was truly traumatic. I will never go back again, and I warn everyone to watch and pay attention. I don't know that they are purposefully trying to file thin in order to break polish and have repeat fixes but that would be a highly profitable notion, as well as a terrible business ethics. You vote with your dollar, and I don't appreciate this sort of service.Read Less

I went to Galaxy Nails based on yelp reviews... and boy was I disappointed. I wanted an acrylic set of nails, and the woman doing my nails forced gels on me no matter what I said. She did not do a good job on my nails at all. I told her what color I wanted and she gave me two options. I did not like either and she proceeded to just say "No this is good!" That, and I was telling her the design I liked and she just did not understand and proceeded to "do her own thing" with my nails while speaking a foreign language to the worker next to her and laughing... maybe I'm being sensitive... but I also have Tourette's Syndrome and whenever I had a facial tic she would look at me funny and sometimes laugh. It was just not a good experience and the woman doing my nails was so unprofessional. My nails were not done well and the crystals applied are falling off. She didn't even fill the nails to the cuticle... so now I have to get them done sooner than anticipated.. and definitely at some other nail salon. The salon itself is beautiful, and I think the only good thing about the salon is the receptionist.. I believe her name is Arizona but I'm not sure. Do not go here if you want quality and respect. I have lived in Port Charlotte for 6 months. I have tried two other nail places and this is far superior....They take amazing care of you.  They have a large selection of different pedicures they can do and they are all well worth it.  The best thing they do is line the tub of the pedicure chair with a large plastic bag so you are ensured that you will get a clean germ free pedicure.I can't say enough good about them! Definitely recommend. One of the best pedicures I've ever had. Kathy did my pedi and wow does she have some strong hands for the leg massage. She made my feet soft and pretty, I had the $40 pedi with the heel treatment, can't recall the name of it, but my heels needed some attention and this was the one Kathy recommended. Great choice. And hot towels were part of it, so great! The atmosphere is nice, and clean, with about 12 pedi chairs. They were busy, glad we had an appointment. Lots of choices for nail color, and one of the only times I've ever had a pedi and did not leave all greased up with the massage lotion - which gets all over your shoes, clothes, car.... I hate that. I absolutely LOVE this salon... have been getting manicures since I was ten years old on practically a weekly basis (I am now 24!). I have tried many good salons, but usually end up opting for a salon based on convenience etc... That said, as long as I am living in the area, I will ONLY go to Galaxy Nails! The staff is absolutely fabulous and professional... they put you at ease right away, offer you coffee and water. Really nice massage chairs and EXTREMELY CLEAN! The assortment of quality colors is fantastic and I am so impressed by how long by gel manicures last... have never had anything like it and am suddenly always getting compliments on my nails since coming to Galaxy. My first visit today and I had a great experience for a pedicure and a fill manicure. Kathy was my assistant for the pedicure and it was fabulous!  I get pedicures every 2-3 weeks and this is the best one I have had in years!  Ana completed my pink and white fill and was most professional and courteous as well. My friends and I have been going here since they opened earlier this year.  They do a really nice job!  The salon is very clean, and I really like how they use liners in the pedicure chair basins so you know that where you are putting your feet is clean!We have used several of the nail techs here, and I especially like Cindy to do my pedicures.  She's a tiny little girl with very strong hands!  The massage is excellent, and she does a nice job putting a French-tip gel polish on my toes.  Unfortunately, she doesn't do acrylics or I would also use her for my fingernails.Our husbands really like Kathy to do their pedicures.  She must be able to handle the "tougher cases"!  Ha!I make appointments before I go because they are getting quite busy and I don't like to wait.I would recommend this salon to anyone looking for a very clean salon with good techs in Port Charlotte. I went to Galaxy while in the area on vacation, and couldn't have been happier with the service, setting and results of my manicure!My mother, who lives here, said they opened not long ago, and there was still a Grand Opening sign up. The setting is very clean and restful; televisions were set to calming nature scenes (beats noisy talk shows, soaps or strident news programs). Evan did a heavenly job with my gel (no chip) manicure; efficient but detail oriented. It was also cheaper than what I am used to (in IL), so snowbirds may notice this benefit.When I called to find out information, they said they prefer appointments over walk ins. I still had to wait a couple minutes but not bad. There were plenty of customers and a number of nail techs present.In addition to standard services you will find "VIP services", such as the Mandarin Honey pedicure or Royal pedicure (which includes a parrafin wrap). You also are treated to wine, coffee, soda, etc. with a VIP service.I will definitely suggest this place to my mom and grandma (who live here), and recommend it to you as well!
