I have been going to Essence for quit some time now and on three different occasions I have been disappointed with how my pedicures have been turning out manicure fills etc they excel in but pedicures I feel as if I’ve been over charged for them to mess up on my toes. For $45 dollars my dry skin wasn’t taking off; the nail polish is around my toes just over all the pedicures aren’t a job well done. LOVE LOVE LOVE! I came in on the 11th of may and prom was that night so I heard they were busy ALL DAY LONG. I needed my nails done for my baby shower the next day and I had a little bit more of a lengthy request than your typical full set. There was just more too it. All I have to say is they exceeded my expectations! I recommend tony, he was the one who took the time to do it. And not to mention he took his time but was quick. Terrible when you come in the day before your wedding and can’t even get your nails done the way you want them done. My mother’s nails are all uneven and mine, they couldn’t even do the design. Very short wait time, the man who did my nails was very honest (I wanted to get white polish, he suggested I get the white powder instead since white polish tends to get dirty) very quick, shaped them EXACTLY how I wanted, did a thorough job. I didn't mind paying $40 for them because they were so well done. The whole shop is very clean, there's lots of people working at once. I'm a little upset I had gotten my nails done here a few days ago. They look cute but, the black in the black marble was put on thin with the gel nail polish. So it's not a solid color. Very disappointed because I was referred here from a friend with the black marble. Hers were so cute. Well not only that but, my right hand nails are completely longer then the left. So once I sucked up not being fully painted solid. (Some parts are like transparent black) my hand nails are longer. First experience. I was with Snow and was referred to Stephanie. I won't go anywhere else! Don is the best!! I was referred by a friend 4 months ago and now it's the only salon l'll go to for my nails. My husband and I love their lemon drop pedicure! It's to die for! It's great that most of the employees speak good English too. Especially Don and Snow. They have so many options to choose from with colors and glitters in polish and gels. They have done so many amazing designs and are always keeping up with the newest fads. Saturday is hard to get in if you don't have an appt. It is by far their busiest day. But they always welcome walk ins and it's easy to get in during the week. I just love this place and can't say enough good things about it. I moved here 1.5 years ago from N.Y. I went to several nail salons before I found Essence Nail Spa. Every where I went would do a decent job but the quality wasn't consistent every visit, even when going back to the same person. When I first walked in Essence Nail Spa, I was hesitant because they were clearly under construction - which they were going through the remodel. I sat down and got my nails done and they came out perfect. They were exactly what I wanted, including th...e length, width, thickness, and design. It's was a relaxing, welcoming, friendly atmosphere which only enhanced the experience. I have had multiple people do pedicures and acrylic fills/full-sets with gel polish. I have never been disappointed. I would highly recommend anyone in the nail spa to do your nails. One time, I broke a nail two days after getting them done (which was my own fault as I was long over due a new set). I went back two days after breaking my nail - 4 days after getting them done due to working and going to school for my masters fulltime. They fixed my nails free of charge and recommended coming back for the new set to prevent more from breaking. They are always busy, however the wait time is doable and it is always worth the wait - especially for the quality of services offered. They have fair prices and always take their time to show their appreciation to the customer. I have walked in with every chair full, including the chair for customers waiting and have never waited more then 30 minutes or felt rushed or as if the nail tech is tired or worn out from a busy day. Physically BURNING someone's FACE is unacceptable in every way but then PRETENDING not to speak English suddenly when asked to speak with the manager or owner is a new level of low. So this place did good nails for my girl, but they sat there the whole time talking to each other in a foreign language laughing at customers. It was so obvious they were laughing at people. I never seen a nail salon with people as rude as these two ladies. Yeah they all talk foreign languages in these places, but usually you can't tell what they're talking about. These two women didn't even try to hide what they were doing. They were motioning towards customers and saying things and laughing. So rude and disrespectful. It don't matter how good the nails are when you're that rude to people they won't come back. Everybody can chose a different nail place because there are a lot in town that aren't this rude. I like the salon but wish the customer service was better. Every time I go in and ask for Don it seems like he doesn't want to do my nails. My very first time there; I was a few minutes late and he already started another client so I left. This morning I was one of the first people there; asked Don about my nails and he let me know he already has a 9am appointment. So I said okay. I noticed while getting my nails done that he stood around and didn't start doing someone's nail...s until 9:30. I spend good money in there each time I go. And it would be nice to be treated nicely. I won't be asking for Don anymore and will probably start going elsewhere and get treated better since I don't seem to be good enough to get treated right. I deserve the same respect and courtesy just like all his other clients. I won't beg to get my nails done. What would've been so wrong with starting my nails when you stood around for 30 minutes. Love this nail salon. Moved here 2 years ago and went to several salons until I found my new salon home. Vicky does my gel acrylic nails to perfection. All of the technicians are great for pedicures. Waxing is very well done and I never have break-outs or problems. Everyone is very friendly and Don and Vicky are very knowledgeable about the newest trends and techniques. The place is clean, the staff is professional without forgetting to be friendly, there is a huge selection of nail polish colors & they offer many different versions of their services. Nail tech Van did a phenomenal job. However, prices are very high I have a refill with 2 new nails needed(which I got glitter acrylic on, but no paint, glitter, or even to coat put on others and it cost 30. I can go to nail palace in PG and get it all down for 20. I just didn't have time to run all the way there and back before work and I had heard great things about this place. Plus, I can't stand a place that tries to get me to change my mind on what I want or tries to up sale me even though I tell them exactly what I want and how I want.Read Less

Very disappointed. I've been going here for years as a snowbird every two weeks in the winter and tip very good to have my nails done and now I'm moving to Port Charlotte. The last few times I've been there I feel like either they don't like me or other people are more important because they get pedicures and that's a no no for me!! Exceptional service! The nail techs not only know what they're doing, but you can trust their opinions and insights without worrying that they're just trying to up sell you or cut corners! Beware of their sub standard and FisherPrice quality of work. They also do not care if u walk out with bleeding fingers....the owner says it is normal! In fact a customer stated that she always goes there and leaves with her hands hurting! They are not customer service friendly and cannot humble to having gone a little to far in cutting cuticles.
