I’ve been going to Glossy Nails exclusively for the past 6 months or so and I couldn’t be happier! They always do a great job and are very customer service oriented. They have a lot of staff on hand so I’ve always been able to walk in and get my nails done right away. First visit was great. However, this second visit was not as pleasant as the first. I showed a nail tech a picture of a design that was from here and she stated "no we don't do that here, your nails are too short to do that." But I pulled the picture from this website.. then another tech by the name of Tiffany turned around and corrected her. Steve then comes to me and states the same, that Tiffany can do designs on my nails and the tech I was with couldn't. Ok, not a problem. I found this place through yelp. I was attracted because of the +4 star rating! It was right down the street from where I was staying, so I ended up walking. I walked right in with no appointment and was taken immediately. The gentleman who did my nails was extremely nice and worked very precisely! We also had a few laughs too. He did amazing work and I also think it was the fastest mani I have ever gotten. He also did a light hand massage at the end. I got gel and it was $25 which I thought was reasonable. i have mixed feelings about this place. The first time i went in, the guy i got was very helpful. He always asked if i liked the way he was doing something, and held nice, casual conversation. He didn't throw my hands around or demand me to do things like most nail techs. But, he painted the matte coating over my rhinestones and it ended up looking not so great. And the second time, the lady i got was a bit rude and didn't ask me any questions about what i wanted. So when i finally asked for rhinestones, she was very angry that i had waited so long. This place has gone literally down the hill. Have been coming here for over almost 2 years. The customer service sucks. Steve, the co owner does not care if a client is not satisfied with their services. He only treats nicely clients who go with more expensive services. I went here because I saw how many reviews they had and the level of reviews. It was also recommended by a neighbor.  I called, to make an appt and Stephen was short and rude. When I arrived, my first impression of the place was dirty and cluttered. I thought I would go ahead and give it a chance and sat down with the nail tech that was recommended to me. The towel in front of me was disgusting, it had nail clippings, cuticles, lotion and dust from the previous customer. I didn't have time to make an appointment at my usual spot. Based on the positive reviews (which I am completely perplexed by), I ran in to Glossy where they took me immediately. The tech did not introduce herself to me but was mostly friendly. About ten minutes in she introduced me to Norman who was apparently taking over my service. After a few minutes of him getting situated and discussing my pedicure he, instead, left to work on another client who had just walked in. So, the original tech came back. Bizarre. The tech offered me a bottle of water. When I went to open it I discovered it was already open. So, I did not drink it.The tech's foot "massage" was awful. She kept putting her fingers through by toes. This hurt. She did it repeatedly despite my cringing. There was nothing therapeutic, relaxing or comfortable about the "massage". These reviews are no joke. Glossy is THE place to go for your nail needs. At first I thought upon reading these reviews that they must offer some sort of a discount for a good review, but no that's not it. 100+ people are just as obsessed with Glossy's customer service as I am. They always make me feel right at home, and the manager simply walks around all day checking on everyone, making sure everything is to your liking, asking if he can get you anything, etc. I've never seen that kind of service. I have been getting my nails done for well over 10 years now and Glossy has the best customer service I've ever experienced. The prices are very reasonable. I've been to many techs for gel polish, acrylic nails, pedicures, and eyebrow waxing. Each service has been performed at the highest level of quality. Love this salon especially Mimi!  All the employees there have been great but Mimi is my favorite!  Not sure how or why but my gel nails last the longest with Mimi's application and I'm pretty rough on my hands.  I've tried other salons and other manicurists.  Mimi is the best at gel nails! If you ask for her, be kind to her. Her English isn't that great yet but she'll get there.  Just smile and shake your head yes or no.  You can always ask for assistance communicating with her.  I'd give her 10 stars if I could. I love this place but has THE WORST experience yesterday. I have been here 3x and that's only because i live in New York. I usually have great experiences but I went to Candace yesterday and not only was her attitude sour, but she was SO harsh on my nails. Even though I said no, she buffed twice (why? I am only getting a regular manicure) and when she was filing my nails, I had to pull away because she was being so rough. I could SEE my nails bending. Terrible. She rolls her eyes constantly AND then when I told her there was a hair stuck in my polish, she rolled her eyes again and said no it was a bubble. No, I now have hairs in my nails. TWO of my nails have broken in less than 24 hours. My nails haven't even chipped in months. Terrible. She didn't give the back massage that accompanies the maní either. AVOID HER. Read Less

Everyone always seems so helpful whenever I go in (which has been a grand total of twice).The first tech was not my favorite - she cut my cuticles too low, made me bleed twice, but she was friendly and painted well - it was Shellac $25 - it lasted a full 2 weeks, so yay!The second time was the S&S/dipping powder - $40 for that with or without tips.Glass of wine is a bonus!$20 for a standard pedicure.Pretty fair prices all around. I love Glossy 130, I have been here more than a handful of time with my mother, the store is very clean, and VERY relaxing. The staff is very polite, you are always greeted. I love that have whine or water to help with the pampering. I took my mother to the salon for her birthday, I secretly told one of the girls about it and they dimmed the lights down, turned on a happy birthday song, and gave my mother a card and balloon with some candy. I have never seen my mother smile so big. I can not thank this salon for always giving us a reason to smile and be completed relaxed. I had high hopes for this nail spa. Unfortunately, as with most walk in situations I got a bad tech. I ended up fixing my toenails a day later.I kept watching how good this older nail tech was doing with someone else's feet at the end of my row. She was doing such a great job that I almost wanted to tell my nail tech to stop and let me wait for the other tech to finish...but I wanted to give her a chance...and I regret not being bolder.My tech was taking the whole time, disinterested in my feet, didn't cut my nails correctly, didn't buff my nails, and the hot stone massage I paid extra for sucked. In giving this chick who probably isn't talented the benefit of a he doubt...I really wish these nail techs weren't worked to the bone where they just don't do a good job on everyone who walks in. So I normally enjoy my pedicure experience at Glossy but when I went in on Thursday at 9 Am, I was placed with Mimi. I had ordered a manicure and pedicure with french gel polish. When I asked for her to file my nails round, she looked at me like I had two heads. "Square?" No round, like my cuticles. She looked miserable the entire time she was soaking my feet. She didn't take care like the others usually do and rushed my pedicure. Once she applied the nail polish, she used this hot pinkish clear coat which didn't look right when she applied 2 coats. She also messed up the white and didn't bother to fix it. When I pointed it out, she acted like she didn't know what I was talking about. She asked me to fix it, I said yes just my two big toes. She simply used polish remover to remove the top coat but the white line was still messed up. I pointed it out again but she still didn't fix it. At that point, I was there over an hour and I just wanted to get out of there. 2 days later my gel nail polish on my hands chipped off and here is a picture. I was out of town so I could not go back and have them fix it. . This place used to be my favorite when they first opened but now I will have to start looking for another place. Read Less

I frequented this salon in the past, but didn't have a great experience so I stopped. Recently, I went back to give it another try. I am simple when it comes to my nails. I get a regular pedicure and a regular manicure. I was handed a menu and asked to choose which one I want. I said regular and handed the menu back. The woman then began to hand me back the menu to show me all of the options and told me that the deluxe is very nice. I know the delux is nice, because I have had it in the past. But today, I wanted regular. A little irritated I had to repeat myself (failed, desperate up-sale). She then made sure to tell me, "you're getting your nails done right?" (desperate up-sale). I told her yes i'm getting my nails done. She then said "gel, right?" (desperate up-sale). I said no, i'm good with the regular polish. She then went on the explain how good the gel polish is and how long it lasts, etc.(desperate up-sale). I responded, "I know, i've been getting my nails done for 15 years, I prefer regular polish." My pedicure ended and I was taken to a chair for my fill. She tried once more to up-sell me on the gel, and, against my better judgement, went for it. I went for it because at this point it was embarrassing saying NO to her trying so hard make me spend money. So I spent the $25 for the manicure. I thought it was odd she didn't wipe my nails down with alcohol or ask me to wash my hands after the manicure, she just started painting. I was actually please with the results of the manicure. Went home, showered that night, and noticed a nail was starting to peel because the clear polish was applied slightly to my skin, an error on the nail tech's part. By the next morning, the polish was half way peeled off. I had to wait until my lunch break, drove myself back to the salon, and explained that the gel was peeling on one nail. Manager seemed skeptical, asked me how it happened, why only one nail, who did my nails, etc. I reminded him, hey I was in here yesterday, you know who I am. A tech began re-painting my one nail and during this time at least 3 nail techs came up to our station to look at my nails. Not sure what they said, because they were speaking Vietnamese, but whatever they were saying was a topic of discussion in the salon. I felt very uncomfortable with the entire situation. A waste of my time and money.  Three days later, FOUR more nails started to peel. SERIOUSLY?? $25 TO HAVE MY NAIL POLISH PEEL OFF?? Im not doing anything crazy with my hands, I don't even wash my dishes by hand. At this point I couldn't take it, I just peeled off all of the polish on every nail and hopped on my computer to write this review! Also, not thrilled that the only cleaning they do to the tubs after the pedicure is quickly spraying a dollar store scrub brand in the tubs and then washing it out with water. I asked my tech if they washed the tub next to me, if that was all they do, and she said, "yes." -_-It's a shame, I really did like this place at one time, not sure what happened. Read Less

Not bad, not great. The Pedi was mediocre at best, not to say the place is not worth a second chance, just sense that not all nail techs are created equal. In looking around you can almost pinpoint who is tier 1 and who is tier 2. My pedi overall was just ok, I'm willing to accept a great foot massage and an subpar pedi or vice versa, but I have a hard time accepting two subpar services. Unfortunately my recent visit happened to be the latter. Rubbing lotion on your feet and calves is not the same as a massage. A little elbow grease can go a long way, I'm certain that most customers (especially men) would agree with this. I will say, that mini back massage at the end is a great touch indeed.If anyone is a regular and knows who gives a fantastic pedi here. This place is great! I brought my daughter, Christina, here to have her nails done and the service was outstanding. My daughter is disabled and uses an electric wheelchair which Steven went out of his way to accommodate while Vivian did a beautiful job on her nails. Very friendly with quick efficient service. I wanted to love this place because of the reviews but I didn't have the excellent experience everyone is bragging about. I was switched around between nail techs and the girl I ended up having was using dirty tools. I had to ask her to get clean ones. My nails were also filed with a slant and are crooked. I felt rushed and was turned off when she only soaked one hand before cutting my cuticles. She didn't use any cuticle oil before cutting either. I had been here a year or two ago and enjoyed the atmosphere and my services, and decided to try Glossy 130 out again a few weeks ago when back in the area. Sadly, it didn't live up to my previous visit, and I won't be returning. The Good: Easy to make an appointment. Guy at the counter (the owner? Not sure.) was very friendly and welcoming. Good polish selection. Nice touch with offering a drink during service. The Bad: Bad ventilation; smelled like chemicals - you know, that "bad nail salon" overwhelming smell. My tech seemed miserable - barely spoke, in monotone, and was extremely rough. Started with a pedicure, and she cut me accidentally on the first toe. Seemed rushed and inattentive. "Massage" of feet / legs with pedicure was actually painful - in a "I feel your nails digging into my skin" way, not a "you're working out knots" way. My pedicure took 10 mins less time than the person who started the same level of pedicure right next to me at the same time, logically because my tech was clearly rushing - I was ok with that, though, as I just wanted the grumpy , rushed service over so I could move on to the manicure I'd also scheduled. If only it were that simple, though. Nail tech didn't give me any (I have no ide what they're called, so let's call them...) toe-separator-thingees, then had me follow her (walking fast) to a manicure table. Well, in my attempt to follow her quickly, my second toe swiped my big toe, and since the polish was crazy thick and wet, the polish squished away from about 1/5 of that toenail. The guy from up front (owner?) happened to notice and told the tech to fix it; she leaned down to do it under the manicure table where she either thought I couldn't see or just didn't care if I saw her remove the polish and do only one single coat of color to replace it - no base, no second coat, no top coat.Then we moved on to the manicure - no option for me to select shape; tech started clipping without asking / before I realized to say something. She grabbed the wrong gel color when I selected one from a set of nail examples, though thankfully I caught that. Randomly and with no explanation my tech then left and had someone else take the reigns, who moved me to a new station. New tech was significantly friendlier, so while the switch was surprising and not explained, that worked out better in the long run. Overall: this felt more like a cliche mall establishment, with the smell, rushed feeling, lack of attention to detail, and seemingly unhappy staff. Maybe it was just an off day for one tech, but I'm turned off enough that I'm not going to try it again to find out. Read Less

I had the BEST experience today!  Recently having relocated from atlanta I've been in search for a new salon, and have been disappointed by the level of service here, until Glossy Nails!!  The gentleman that received me at the front door was so friendly accommodating and professional.  My service was great with "Leelee, or Lily" we did the pedi first then the mani, my nails are perfectly manicured and I'm beyond happy to have found such a comfortable and affordable salon!  The manager even gave the customers today chocolates and a balloon to a little girl :)  Truly so impressed with the level of customer service and how smoothly the staff all works together.  Yay!  I'll definitely be back Read Less

Been here so many times and I am super happy I found this place! Always very warm and welcoming offer complimentary wine, water and snacks. Best foot massage I've had, Holly is AMAZING! Got a manicure, gel and they always last 2-3 weeks without any problems! When I was done I sat to sit and dry my nails I got a little back massage also! Very clean and relaxing atmosphere! A lot of nail polish options and gel polish colors! I have been here twice now. The first time I came with a bridal party and the second, I just really needed my nails done and I happened to be in town. It is right up the street from my best friend's house and she is a regular here. I walked in at about 10:45 on a Thursday and they were able to take me right away. I picked out my color and was brought to my seat and offered water. I had Vivian. She was very sweet. She was talking to me a lot which I liked. Even though I was super hungover! It took longer than what I am used to but she did a very good job on my fill! I was very happy with how they came out. The salon is clean and organized. They play soft music in the background and it smells better than most salons. The bathroom is clean and stocked. I have gotten a pedicure here as well that was really great! Their chairs are awesome. The only thing I don't like is when they try to push shellac or gel on you. I have been getting my nails down since I was like 12. I know what I like!
