I came to Orlando to go on my first cruise ever and I really need to get my nails done. No where in the information does it say you have to make an appointment to come here. I was super excited because the reviews spoke very highly of the individuals who work there and I was dying to try them out. The receptionist told me that only one person could do the services that I asked for and it wouldn’t be until 5:30. I asked her what nail service was I able to get as a walk-in because I’m leaving to go on a cruise at 2:00 and I need my nails done as soon as possible. She just looked at me and said I can put you on a call back list. I wasn’t asking for the same service and that didn’t really answer my question which meant she wasn’t listening so I just left. I honestly can not say enough amazing things about The Polish Room! I have been a loyal client for over two years and I have never left the salon disappointed. Brittany (the owner and my nail tech) works very hard to always have the hottest nail trends and best polish color options. I get complaints on my nails everywhere I go, all the time! I strongly believe that they have the best quality nails of anywhere in Central Florida. All the girls are so sweet. I personally go to Brittany & Suni for my acrylic nails, Amy for my pedicures, and Sasha for my lash lift. You do have to plan ahead and make an appointment ahead of time, but my life is so busy that I enjoy having a set schedule of when I go get my fills taken care of. Overrated. Did not feel very welcome when first entering. No complimentary water/beverages. Employees sitting around gossiping. Temperature was stuffy and hot, with the usual acrylic smell. Just expected more out of a seemingly upscale downtown nail salon. Price was good but my thumbnails chipped less than 12 hours after being done. My friends nails always look great but she does acrylic and my nails are natural. None the less she recommended Amy as the natural nail go to. Media Presence: On point. They are very instagram savvy and post lots of picture for potential clients to see and decide what nail techs they like based on designes. They also post insta-stories when the salon has walk in availability (tip: don't expect the more popular nail techs to have any walk in availability). I wanted to like this place SO bad as I have been looking for a go-to nail salon that specializes in nail art, but unfortunately, The Polish Room won't be that place for me. I was fortunate to be able to call the day before and get an appointment squeezed in the next day in time for my weekend Miami trip. They require a $15 deposit at the time of booking which I totally respect & understand - time is precious, and you don't want to waste a high-demand nail tech's time. This is why I was extremely surprised and disappointed that my personal time was not respected here after rushing over to make sure I made my appointment on time. I arrived on time, with no one to greet me at the front, and my nail tech Rachel did not have her desk ready for me - it kind of felt like she was surprised I was there & didn't know what services I had booked. Another thing that got to me was there was no hand wash before my holographic stiletto nail set was put on, or after. I had glitter ALL OVER my hands & arms by the time I got to my pedicure. What irritated me the most is that another client of hers smudged a nail before she left. Now, I've been getting my nails done a very long time now and have had this happen in the past before, but my nail tech usually respects my time slot and asks the client to come back later or make another appointment to fix the problem. Rachel automatically took back the client without asking me if I was okay with waiting and pushing my time back - I wasn't, I had a dinner to catch. She drew me a cold bath for my pedicure and had me sit there soaking in cold water for close to 20 minutes! I literally had to pull another tech over to have her help adjust the water, and this nail tech also kindly started my pedicure after she saw my visible irritation. Rachel finally came back after 20 minutes to finish what the other tech started, and it was an okay pedicure, but definitely not the most detailed I've had when it comes to callus & cuticle care. Oh, and she kept stopping the pedicure to gossip with another tech & her client in the next chair over. Ridiculous. The pedicure was definitely not worth the price. I was also late for my dinner after, because this process stretched out over 2 hours. I am actually pleased with the results from my manicure which is why there is 3 stars instead of 2, but after this experience, I unfortunately won't be returning as I don't appreciate my time not being respected the way I respected their time. Heard about this shop and wanted to see what the hype was all about sadly I didn't experience it. Went here recently to get my nails done and overall my nails turned out good. However they didn't last long which I was very disappointed about being that I paid a pretty penny for them and tipped the girl who did them. Also the customer service could be way better normally customers are greeted when they walk in and I literally got nothing no hello or welcome. Okay so a friend recommended I start coming here and I haven't gone anywhere else ever since!!! The girls here are all amazing and very professional! They do a top notch job when it comes to nails. I've had mine done by Suni, Britt, Teresa and Rachel and they all do more than an extraordinary job. I only get acrylics so I can't speak for the natural nails but if you looking for a place that is chill and laid back then I definitely recommend the polish room. One thing to remember is that it's appointment only!! They do NOT do walks in, but I like this so much better vs walking into a salon because you don't have to wait forever and the nail tech has this time reserved especially for you. This place sucks. It's definitely nothing fancy, I spent my pedi listening to the nail techs gossip with each other, my toenails turned out horrible - I even told my tech that I had an ingrown, and still have it!! I stumbled on Polish Room through yelp. At first, i walked in and realized how busy they were and that I obviously needed to call ahead to get my nails done. When I did call ahead, they were very happy to accommodate me based on the times I was able to go in. I took it as a good thing that they're always booked; it just reflects good service. I have been here a few times now and every one of those times I was treated extremely well by all the technicians. They are really great girls who just want everyone to have a good experience. I've never been to a salon where I felt so comfortable and relaxed. They set up a really nice environment and are always willing so help. Things to Know about the Polish Room: 1. They don't take walk-ins (My first time there, that's what I was told. You have to have an appointment. After I stood there the tech asked if I wanted to make one.) 2. When you make your appointment, tell them you want a design and on how many fingers. (If you don't, when you show up to your gel manicure appointment and want a design they'll tell you they don't have time. Because somehow you missed the memo that isn't posted about that... rule. They might not even do your manicure at all. This was almost my case.) 3. Not everyone does designs. (Those names you see on the photos here on FB are pretty much the only ones that do. Guess what, they're usually booked solid. See why you can't be a walk in.) 4. Britt is the owner (She is very professional and accommodating even when some of her staff isn't. Which is a shame really.) 5. Some of their polish is old. (To me old is gummy looking Nailpolish-opinion) I didn't have gel color change a week before my natural nails (which is strong) broke down to the quick on two nails. I've gone to several places around orlando to get my nails done and this place is both the least expensive and the best quality. I always get French gel manicures and they always look incredible after. I've seen many other clients get acrylic nails and they look fabulous as well. Suni is my GIRL. I moved to Orlando almost a year ago, and I'm still trying to find the necessities a girl needs in regards to beauty and everything. I use to go to this salon as far as my nails go 10/10 every time. Immaculate service like seriously, these ladies know how to make a girl smile. I promise you're gonna love your nails. As far as scheduling well that has a little to be desired. I was scheduled at one time then I received a text to ask if that time could be changed. I didn't mind so I said yes to a 4:15 appointment. Then received another text asking for the time to be changed to 3:00 I declined, letting them know I was at work. Then I come way from SANFORD at the agreed upon time *4:15 only get a text saying " ****** ended up taking a client because we weren't sure if you were coming but if you want to come around seven..." I will say normally I would have just accepted the offer to come at 7if I was already in Orlando. But seeing as how I left work in Sanford and drove an hour I felt as if that was a complete waste of my time and gas. It's not as if I was late either I text at 4:08 my appointment was at 4:15. I then received a text Saying she took a client I'M A CLIENT AS WELL I was literally in the Parking lot. To be honest I just feel as if that's unprofessional.
