Absolutely floored. I have never in my life been treated with such outright rudeness, especially at a salon! Before coming to Pro Nails, I called ahead to inquire about the wait. The man over the phone told me there was no wait. Fair enough. When I arrived at Pro Nails five minutes later-wouldn't you know it- there was a wait! It should have been my first red flag, but I was not shocked and decided to wait. Well, that ended up being my worst idea of the year! The same man who lied over the phone eventually told me to sit down in his seat after 20 minutes of waiting. I pulled out a picture of a French manicure design which was quite intricate, I admit that. With a name like "Pro Nails", I figured they would be able to do it. Well, "Mr. Pro" (pretty sure he was the owner) took one look at it and said "SIXTY DOLLARS". I asked him "why is it $60", to which he replied: "It just is". Instead of explaining how he came up with that number he just sat there with a rude look on his face and then yelled something in his native language to his buddy across the room- and then SHOCKER- he started laughing! I know I'm not the only one who gets offended when people are clearly talking sh*t about them. It happens all the time at nail salons and it's absolutely horrible customer service. Just when I thought that was the extent of my so far terrible experience, it actually got worse! While I sat there thinking about whether or not I wanted to pay $60 for nails (all of 5 seconds), the man admonished me by saying I was taking up too much of his time! I wish I could actually remember his direct quote but it's literally a blur because I could not believe I was being spoken to that way. To say I saw red after that exchange would be an understatement. I calmly replied, "Well, I will go ahead and let you help someone else". Then I got up and left. Lucky for this man, I am turning 30 in a week so I am too old to unleash on someone who deserves it. Had it been ten years ago, he would have seen another side of Betsey. However, at the end of the day, I am happy I rose above and did not give this jerk the satisfaction of raising my blood pressure. If turning 30 means using Yelp as anger management, then so be it.
