There's almost too much to praise about this salon! Professional, exceptionally clean, beautifully decorated, amazing staff and owners who were friendly and fun, possibly the best pedicure I've had in ages, and natural/herbal awesome-smelling products! I could seriously go on and on. For years I've gone to the same nail salon near my home. The last few times I was there, I felt like the quality had slipped a lot and then, recently, I walked in and was just bowled over by the smell of the nail chemicals. I decided I needed to try to find a new spot. I went to Herbal Nail Bar because the reviews were so good and I was not disappointed in the least.I made an appointment for 9a - right when they open. A couple walked in before me and were obviously regulars as they were having a animated conversation with the owners, but Don saw me come in (Sophia couldn't see me from behind the computer screen) and they greeted me with professionalism and enthusiasm. Here I should mention that I was also greeted by the mostly lovely smell - like expensive natural hand lotion or something. I was just clean and wonderful. After checking me in, I was directed to pick out a nail color from the small but varied selection of polishes but they cover the spectrum of what you'd want - for the person who doesn't like change, you have OPI, for the person who wants long-lasting wear, they have Vinylux, and, true to the Herbal Nail Bar brand, they also offer Zoya nail polish which makes long-lasting, toxin-free polish. Eliminating toluene, camphor, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, and DBP from its polishes, Zoya is one of the most popular 5-free nail polish brands out there. I chose a Zoya color. My nail technician, Lyly, directed me to my chair, offered me something to drink, checked to see if the water was okay (I wanted it hotter), and made sure I knew how to work the chair and that I was comfortable. Since it was my first visit, she provided me with my options for pedicures. Their least expensive is $40 and the full-blown spa-level pedi is $65. I decided to treat myself and see just how good a $65 pedi would be at this place. I was not disappointed! My long and relaxing pedicure included all manner of lotions and a clay mask for my legs and even fresh lemon for my cuticles. I can't remember ever feeling so pampered! And, while the other women in the pedi-chairs were reading and quiet, Lyly and I were chatting it up and having a blast. :) My point being that you can have either experience - if you like to visit with your nail tech, the staff is engaging and fun or you can just chill. Now to the meat of it... how was the actual application of nail polish? Awesome. Clean, perfectly layered, she did the ends (you know the cut part that always chips if you don't get some polish on it?), and she didn't get polish anywhere but on my nails. There's no "drying station" which is something I always enjoy - I sit and read a magazine if I'm not in a hurry and let my toes really, really dry - so that was a bit of a bummer. Lyly had me stay in my pedi-chair and would come by and check my toes every few minutes and, after about 10 minutes, proclaimed that I was free to leave. :) On my way out, I was offered a bottle of cold water.Obviously, I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed my experience at Herbal Nail Bar. Needless to say, this is my new nail salon!PS - one thing I forgot to mention is that they have an autoclave on site so they sterilize and package their equipment after each use. When you sit down, a new, sterile package of files, clippers, etc is opened just for you! Read Less
