This place is overrated rude disrespectful there’s no customer service you tell them what service you want and they tell you what type of service you need!!! I was a loyal customers here for years however the service started lacking once it started getting too popular. They started rushing to do your nails to get to the next person not caring about the quality. All in all I personally never had arguments with anyone there. Every time I come here I’m always getting into arguments with who ever does my nails, it never fails. Customer service sucks! Don’t think you can bring your problems to the guy at the desk because he’s rude as well. One unhealthy apple spoils the bunch. I was there today, I am 8 months pregnant and the lady that did my pedicure was rude and un-polite. I told the young man the front only because it was that bad. I never really paid attention to the reviews on this place and let a lot of things get by but I went last week and it was the last time I'll ever go. I wanted wax cleanup and tint. I did not want much off my eyebrows, I should have just plucked them myself because they ripped off almost all my eyebrows stating that was the ONLY way I'd get a good shape. That's non sense especially after I asked her not to keep waxing, she STILL pulled strip without my permission. I was seated with tony.... station 7 or 8. This man does not have a single clue of what he is doing. My paint job was awful! Either the nail was not painted enough or it was just sloppy and all over my skin! Every time I went to examine it he would grab my hand and tell me it needs to dry. NEGITiVE! take this paint off! . I was ready to walk out of there with clear nails ! If I’m going to pay for something I want it done right, again this is a service they offer and my satisf...action is the goal! Long story short tony had a crazy temper doesn’t take constructive criticism well and even called me a liar I asked for the manager and of course tony would not help me. I decided to upgrade my experience from 1-star to 2-stars because Ana, who does eyebrows and lashes is amazing. Otherwise, Van's is horrible. They lack customer service and ownership. I asked if I could change the color of my polish because the polish looked cheap... After spending $80, I was advised it would be an additional $7 because I chose that color. Wow! He cut my nails weird, put the polish on way too thick and i had to question why he didn't put on a base or top coat. My nails are so ugly now that the polish has cracked. 3 days of nails for $35. I wish I could give this place 0 stars because today I had the worst experience, first off never let Ana at station 22 do your brows with tint. My brows were a freaking hot mess, one brow down and one up! I regret saying I'll go to anyone but never again the lady at station 4 will be my brow lady from now on but back to the story so I told the girl that's a receptionist for the brows and lashes that I didn't like my brows and she was constantly getting an attitude & just wanted the money, I was a second from cursing her out.. The worst experience I have ever had at a nail salon. My sister in law recommended this place. She recommended Ethan but since he wasn't available she suggested Julie. I asked Julie if she had vinylux seven day colors and she directed me to the 2 week gel colors and said there is no such thing as seven day colors. I said ok and asked for Essie Fiji, she told me she doesn't know what that is and I should go look around the corner for it. I realized then I would receive zero service. I sat down and as she started to take my polish off my toes the woman next to me had witnessed our earlier exchange and said why are you rushing her pedicure. She told the lady to stop talking. I told her the attitude wasn't necessary and asked her to please stop rushing. At that point she said she was pregnant and said she couldn't be bothered. She walked off and said someone else should do my toes. Someone from the front desk came to apologize but after waiting an additional 15 mins with service I walked out. Van's Nails, treat your patrons with respect. No one is asking for free service. Thanks to waze I found another nail salon not too far away. 10x cleaner and the staff is quite pleasant. If you're looking to get your eyebrows waxed or gels. Do not go to this spot. The workers there are so rude. When they're working, the only thing they care about is quantity or quality. They rushed the customers nails, and it ends up looking like they used a kids nail polish kits.  Also, there is too many workers and the place seems crowded all the time. When one of the workers finished a lady's nails, the women walked out without paying and no one saw from how busy it was.  The people are also so obnoxious, and the nail polish area looks like a load of doo doo.I do not recommend this place. I came to get my nails done around 9am last week and had to wait for about 2 1/2 hours. I had to leave and came back at 2pm The guy who is in charge of the list said call me and I will help u out. He put me back at the bottom of the list. When I realized it was 7pm and I was next after sitting there all day. I just got up and walked out without getting my nails done. Just furious. Got here today at 2 minutes to 9am only one person on the list. When Ethen finished I got up and he said he still had someone from last night. Name not on the list at all. Kong the owner have been doing my nails over 13 years. Kong is very attentive and have updated styles and polish designs. Me and my daughter love the service and we will always be loyal to Kong. Also Sandra Kong's wife is the best at eyebrow and body waxing also lashes, pedicures and manicures. They are the absolute WORST in the entire UNIVERSE. I don't know how anybody goes there. I stopped after my second incident. I pay a little more now but I am treated with dignity and respect. Marie and Jen are the only 2 I deal with on any level. EYEBROW REVIEWThe service is very disorganized and the salon is not as sanitary as it should be. Due to a time constraint, I went to Van's for a quick eyebrow tint and wax. The tech I waited for took a lunch break and no one notified me. However, the other tech that did my brows did a great job. I looked around and most of the other customer brows looked nice. Ladies who like to have a gel manicure please read.... As I have began to get gel nails I have done my homework and spent hours researching the difference between gel and acrylic and what Vans calls "gel" is really an acrylic marked gel which they then finish with a gel polish. Ladies do not pay these thieves for gel when you have gotten acrylic, the key difference is that acrylic ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS starts with a powder and liquid mixture always. Gel is a thick clear liquid... that is applied to your nails and only hardens once the UV light is applied. Know the difference because this process is about $20 more at vans and they are going to make you pay the wrong price telling you that it is gel. Vans management I hope you read this because you are lying to your customers and I will be helping to educate them. Please remember me I came in today 9-28-16 paid $95 instead if $100 because I got what you wanted to call gel which was really acrylic well here you go I didn't cause a scene in the store but I will cause a scene here. As I write this review, I am waiting for this place to be opened. They are suppose to be open at 11:00 am on Sunday. Online it says they are closed. The hours posted on their window says otherwise and so are the regulars standing outside. The hours for Sunday posted on the window says 11am-4:30pm. This is my FIRST time coming here. A extremely bad first impression. I do not recommend this establishment to anyone and I won't be coming back. This is disrespectful and disgraceful. On vacation, a friend brought me to this location because he said his wife comes here. I should have followed my first mind and requested a mere polish change for my feet; but it was a big place that looked decent enough to get a mani & pedi. BIG MISTAKE. The lady that serviced me was pleasant. We made small talk about Chicago & my vacation. As she went though the process of the manicure, I'm thinking " When is she going to start?" It was like no manicure I've ever had ... and never want again! There wasn't any cuticle care, and then she took out the drill and went across each of my nails! I was mortified! I get a natural manicure for the very reason that I don't want my nail & nail bed butchered by the drill and that unnatural process & she somehow incorporated that into a natural manicure!! There was very little soaking in warm sudsy water (the water was barely warm with no liquid soap & it barely covered my fingertips and my fingers rested in the water less than 30 secs??) What happened to nail techs using a nail file, clippers, cuticle pusher, nail buffer?!  Finally, she didn't massage or moisturize my hands before applying the nail polish. It was honestly THE WORST MANICURE, I have ever had. I don't think she knew what she was doing. Being that I knew I would never set foot back in this place, I didn't complain; but I knew I would Yelp! The pedicure was pretty much the same. Very basic like they'd read the steps on Wiki-how then didn't perform them! I received a basic polish not gel. So I didn't expect for the polish to last more than a few days on my nails. My pedi usually last a couple of weeks. When I tell you that my nails look like ISHT the next day chipped & peeling on both my fingers & toes!! Both services were outrageously priced for the poor service at $43. Then I tipped out of courtesy several more dollars. ( I really have to stop doing that. Tipping out of obligation, when the service is mediocre. But like I said, the nail tech was pleasant and the place looked decent, except her skills sucked terribly!)  I would not recommend this place. If they can't do something as simple as a mani & pedi; I cringe to think how they would butcher other services. Not even recommended for a quick service such as polish change. This place does not respect customers. This is not the 1st time that I've had a problem. The 1st time, I was disrespected by Kevin (nail tech). He didn't wanna do my nails because I had a regular tech that I use, but she wasn't there. There was a lot of back and forth while doing my nails. Then in his language as well!! This time I called before going and let the man at the front know that I was coming. When I got there, 20 mins later, he says the girl that I use, is done for today. I was furious!! I did a mani and pedi there ONCE and never again. My gel nails were horribly done !!  They were badly shaped and the guy got an attitude when I pointed it  out.  In  a few days I went somewhere  else and got my nails redone properly. The pedicure was the worse.  They were done in like five minutes,  the paint was sloppy. The tech was rushing and wanted to get me out of there as he had other customers waiting.  I'm all for making your money but be professional and do a good job. EYEBROWS here on the other hand is the bomb and the only reason why I didn't give them 1 star.  I go nowhere else... My lady hooks me up real good.
