They didnt come close to what i asked for mind you it took me 6 months to grow my natural nails since im not a fan of acrylic but wantes to keep my beautiful nails from breaking.. from the start i knew it wasn't going well when he left me soaking my nails in acetone for over 10 minutes.. he must've thought i had acrylics on them when i already explained they were my Real nails .. then he sent another tech so i explained to her what i wanted n she nodded yea yea yea n then cut n filed my nails down n was about to paint them .. i told her no n had my daughter tell them what i wanted n after she explained then felt like i became the topic of the conversation in their language of course like i wouldnt notice since they all began talking right after .. now i have peptol bismal pink nails n they look fake .. smh .. not even close to the pic we showed them.. Mad an appointment for a pedicure when I got there lady asked me if I had an appointment I said yes. I was in town visiting family and was referred here and they had made the appointment for me so I was not familiar with the people so I was not sure who I was suppose to get. Well I did not end up getting the person I was scheduled with which was not a big deal until they called and said I did not show up. Well long story short this was a Thursday and by Monday my polish was coming off. They told me to come back in and that I had hit my toe on something. I think not I'm 8 hours away and for $60 mine and my daughters polish should not be coming off after 4 days and the pedicure was not that good. Read Less

DO NOT GO HERE . Worst nail salon I've ever been to. I went in a week ago today for a full set French tip the girl but the tips on wrong did not push my cuticles back or shape my natural nails in any way. Then told me it was an extra $5 for a coffin shape which those were not strait and half of them she only filed one side. Then she charged me another $5 for gel which had bubbles and streaks in it. 4 days after I got them done the sides began to pull up on their own and now only a week later my nail popped off I'm beyond furious and will never allow my friends to go here. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. I walked in with another person for a fill-in & since it was a weekday it wasn't too busy so they immediately sat us down to begin. The older man that worked there did my nails & after taking the nail polish off he began RIPPING my nails off to which i stopped him & told him that some of my nails didn't have the tip, some were in fact my natural nails. To which he looked at me like I was stupid, asked which nails those were & continued ripping them out. He cut & burned me SEVERAL times to which i tried to pull away but he tightened his grip. When we was using the drill under my nails to clean them out he went so deep into my pinky that it caused it to bleed. When he went to actually paint my nails, I put all my stuff in a pile so it would be easier for him to move them to the drying station, but he SNATCHED my phone out of my hand telling me "no" as if i were a toddler. After he was FINALLY done, he proceeded to overcharge me $8 dollars!!! FOR WHAT?????? So when I asked he said it was because he had to take nails off. Which was not necessary AT ALL. Well, I tried to be super patient and optimistic. Apparently, appointments mean nothing here. 50 minutes later, my feet are still sitting in water while the rest of my party is near completion. They would not have even acknowledged the ridiculous delay had my friend not pointed it out. Needless to say,  I've dried my feet off and leaving without a pedicure. This place needs a good cleaning. I should have turned around and left when I saw all the nail polish jumbled together with no arrangement of color. The door was propped open and the wind was blowing thru the shop. Everything had dust on it. I witnessed one man cleaning scissors and cuticle instruments with a dry washcloth. I had a pedicure and then a manicure. While I was getting my manicure a bug crawled up on my toe and it dried in the polish. A lovely look. I had to pick dead bug off of my toe. Read Less

My daughter and I went in for the first time to try the place out. The lady (Valerie) that did full set of my nails did a good job. The guy that did my daughter's full set of nails, did a HORRIBLE job. All the people in the salon looked at them and they knew he did a horrible job. They didn't offer to redo them or give a credit or anything. However, one of the techs said to us as we were leaving for us to see her the next time we went in for our re-fill and she would make it right. So 3 weeks later we went in and requested her. She did a FABULOUS job on our nails, but for a refill we were charged $98 bucks. I don't know how the price got jacked up so high, but I didn't even pay that much for a full set for the both of us the first time we went in. Great job, Jacked up prices. Won't be going back. This salon comes recommended from family who live in the area. Having just relocated here a few months ago, I adopted Mimi's as my new nail salon on their recommendation. I've been here probably 5 times and each time I swear it will be the last.....but I keep coming for convenience. This is officially my last time!  Seriously this time!!!The employees are nice enough. But it is very difficult to communicate with a lot of the staff.  As a result, I rarely end up with what I've asked for. For example:  today I asked for a mani + pedi (and wrote it on their sheet). I had a relaxing pedicure - but instead of then taking me for a mani, my technician started FaceTiming with his family abroad.  The paint job (French) is just ok. Not in my top 100 French paint jobs and in fact, more like my in my bottom 20 all time. I brought my 9 y/o niece today and after an exhaustive discussion with her about why she can't get gel nails before coming in, we then had another technician pressuring us into it....after I clearly said no three times. Talk about awkward having the discussion AGAIN as to why it's not appropriate for a 9 y/o to get gel nails. I keep seeing nail salons all over the place and I'm finally going to try one of them out. Hopefully I can understand and be understood at another place and have a more overall relaxing experience. Read Less

This is my second time at Mimi's. It will be my last. I did not have a problem with my nails this time. I didn't like the job last time. The acrylic was way too thin and pieces chipped off within days. This time though I was pleased, until the end that is. It is advertised at $15 for a fill. That's average in Middleburg. It's anywhere from $13-19. I went to pay and he said $18. I was confused bc I didn't have any nails that needed to be replaced. I questioned him and he said, "it's because you had to have your nails cut down". What? I told him that I had a fill two and a half weeks ago and he didn't have to cut anything. Actually I had cut down two of my nails already because I couldn't get some paint off them. He used the drill to shorten them like everybody does, every time. I like my nails short so if they weren't trimmed down they would be super long! My problem isn't  the price, it's the bait and switch. Advertise $15, charge $18. He told me if I was a regular customer they wouldn't charge me to cut them down. That doesn't even make sense to me. A fill isn't only a fill. It's trimming your nails back to what you started with. If they did a full set would I have to pay for the long tips to be cut down? There are too many nail salons around town not to be happy. Not sure why people have such bad reviews of this place. I walked in yesterday, asked for a pedicure, and was immediately sat and offered a drink. I picked my pedicure type (and no one was pushy, which is RARE and at a nail salon).The woman giving my pedicure was wonderful. Friendly enough that it wasn't awkward, but not too chatty. I walked in and an English speaking (non-Asian) woman greeted me and asked me what service I needed. I stated that I needed pink and white fills. She quoted me $20 and told me to write my name on the waiting list. About 4 people walked in behind me and answered the same question. They were all asked to sit down and wait. Then 2 employees who didn't speak English were looking at all of us and discussing amongst themselves with a look of confusion. They proceed to overlook their own means of organization (the waiting list with names on it) and started to attempt to disperse us to different ares. (pedis, manis, etc) and totally overlooking me (who was first in line). They must have read my facial expression and after 20 minutes directed me to sit in a seat in the back. I proceed to sit. One women sits in front of me and as I place my hands in front of her she says something and walks off. Then another woman (who looks like a maid) sits down and removes nail polish off one nail before telling me that no one is qualified to do pink n white fills. Been here about four times now but I have to say they offer discounts for seniors and when it came time to pay they jacked up the price so really you get no discount. I went back yesterday and had a $5 off coupon Mimi gave me over Christmas and they did the same thing. They said a full set was $5 more then the price list said in order for me to really get nothing off. I like the quality of work but not enough to feel cheated in the end. Time to switch nail shops. The management team needs to learn customer service. I wouldn't bother wasting my money at this establishment again. One manager I specifically remember looking me up & down & giving me a stank look. No respect here. At the beginning of the service to "rough" my nails for pink and white gel nails the nail tech nicked my cuticles three times. Starting on the fourth nail within a minute, I said "Ouch!" every time and had to pull my hand away because of the pain. She then said "I'm sorry but I am not going to be able to do your nails." What a relief, I understand the nails have to be roughed before application, but she could of slowed down around the cuticle beds, instead of going high speed. I wish there was a nail salon that would take their time and made it a calming, pleasing experience, instead of hurrying to get your money and send you out the door. Read Less
