Extremely disappointed. I made an appointment for 4 pm on Sunday the 15th. I got there early at 3:30 pm so i waited until 4 PM. By 4:12 no one offered anything (I.e. water) and did not even start washing my hair. Further, they had the audacity to take another person, who came later, to wash her hair and start her services. Upon leaving, not one member of their staff was apologetic or offered any sort of empathy for their delayed service. I called when they opened to schedule an up do for later on that after noon since I had a wedding to attend that evening. The woman that made my appointment told me that I would be taken care of. I arrived 15 mins early to check in and give myself time to decide what I wanted. I waited 30 mins before the woman that was going to do my hair came to get me. She told me she would blow dry my hair. I told her I needed an up do. She went back to the front desk. Came back to me a few minutes later to inform me there wasn't anyone available for that, that my appointment was for a blow dry, that she could give me a few curls. The professionalism and customer service of this salon is sub par. Only go here if you like getting things you didn't ask for and being overcharged for them. Read Less

I have been going here for a number of years. The staff are like a second family to me and I've been using a broad range of their services continuously. Andrew has been an amazing stylist, and colorist who was the only person I trusted with my virgin hair to give me a beautiful ombre treatment. The owner, Rick, has assembled an impressive and capable staff across the board. The salon also has this fantastic cafe so you can enjoy wine, beer, champagne or great food while you are receiving their services (or you can go just for the food ). I have been going to Rik Rak for over 13 years even though I live in Broward County. This salon is your one stop for everything from hair to nails to Champagne brunch. They have a lovely boutique, a wine bar and cafe, and the best colorists, nail techs, make up artists, etc. I personally recommend Rik for color, Esther for nails, and Leticia for esthetician services. This was the biggest disappointment in hair salons I've encountered. I strongly advice against having hair extensions here and avoid any services with Betty. Overpriced and terrible. I had an initial consultation after researching different salons in Miami and showed photos of what I wanted. Betty told me it was possible. I wanted a balayage and hair extensions fitted like I have had previously in London. The colour was applied appallingly and the bleach ruined my hair. Betty cannot colour (she bleached my hair in streaky highlights instead of balayage and turned my hair orange and brassy). This process took her 7 hours in total. Other stylists at the salon agreed the following  day that colour was applied poorly, it was not balayage and it is orange. After colouring I had hair extensions fitted by Betty, which were put in poorly (completely visible, some had already come loose the following day) and the colour did not even match my own hair (I had a dark brown colour put parts despite being blonde). The stylists the following day at the salon were appalled by the messy and non matching hair extensions and in disbelief. I was incredibly upset as I was charged $1200 by Betty and my hair was ruined. The owner agreed for other stylists to redo my hair because it was a mess. Mimi tried to correct the colour (and she was great) and another lady refitted the extensions which matched my hair better and fitted more carefully. However they were still poor quality extensions and I had now spent 3 days in a row in the salon and paid. Positives: lady who corrected the extensions was lovely. Mimi tried to salvage my hair and remove the orange put in by Betty. I recommend Mimi for colour. Receptionist was friendly. Negatives: poor service, hair extensions removed without a gown even put on. Betty did the worse colour in my life and majorly damaged my hair, she has no understanding of balayage and gave me brassy highlights with bleach, two toners then rebleached my hair, I spent 3 days in the salon and wasn't even offered complimentary drinks. Hair extensions poor quality, became easily tangled and pretty sure they were not real (two separate salons who then tried to resolve my hair said they are fake hair). Any respectable salon would have offered reimbursement or partial reimbursement of the cost considering I had to take time of work and my hair was severely damaged in the process. In summary - I was given the colour service for free (saved me $200) and the only compensation was a free shampoo and conditioner which I asked for afterwards. In summary, I paid $1200 for a traumatic experience that damaged my hair, and extensions that have ended up in the trash (considering other salons believe they are made of artificial hair and became easily tangled) I never normally write reviews and left time to reflect on this process before doing so as I know how damaging negative reviews can be. However in light of the service I experienced I wanted to reveal the truth so other people do not go to this salon and have the same unfortunate experience as I did. Read Less

this review Is only on the nail services so i walk in at 7:30 pm with an appt for a shellac manicure mind you im still new at brickell so i walk to the front of the building and i see that the entrance of the building is closed but the hallway led to the left door( to enter rik rak)Yes i knew it was rik judging by the long mane of silver hair he was busy chatting to his employee while facing me i waved my hand indicating i need to get in the salon. Thinking maybe the door was accidently locked instead of pointing me in the right direction he just turned around  & ignored me ...okay well no matter still need to get it done I found the official entrance eventuallyinside it was pretty busy the receptionist greeted me and i was tended to by nancy She was very polite and talkative so i felt at ease with her Asked me about my nail shape and color i ended up doing a combination of shellac and opi gel polishIt seemed everything was going smoothly but i didnt realized once i left the salon i took a closer look at homeThe sides of my nails were glued to the gel polish i couldn't believe the sloppy application! I would have given a lower rating considering the $45. price but i decided to give them a chance and called explaining the situation plus this was during thanksgiving week where I had no time to come.The receptions nonchalantly(seems like they are use to it) just said to come in and i arrive again nancy was available & fixed it but offered me a pedicure while waiting for the shellac to come off i agreed since it was going to take a whileShe brought in a bowl of water i was expecting something more but she just cut, file, and used a egg beater that had sandpaper to remove the dead skin she ended up cutting my on my 2nd toe!!!I could also tell she was rushing the whole pedicure instead of taking her time since it about to be 8pm no wonder she cut me on my toe !! i was practically limping out that was the last strawof course i tipped and everything but rik rak you sure boast about being a high end salon and visited by marysol but seems you can't trust socia media.... I walked in when they first opened and the owner and his business partner were so nice and hospitable as was the hostess who got me in with Saira right away for a mani-pedi! She's amazing so nice and friendly and my mani-pedi is perfection. Rik Rak also has amazing cute boutique and designer clothing, jewelry and sunglasses! They also have a fabulous coffee and cafe so you can eat, drink, lounge and get everything done all at once. That's their specialty - no need to spend all day at the salon as they can do mani-pedi and hair all at the same time if you want. I'll be back next time I'm in town! Read Less

Just relocated to Miami and I LOVE this Salon! Very talented Rik did my color. I was so happy! Really talented and great with blondes. Cesar cut and styled my hair, totally modern and chic. Raquel's boutique so fabulous I got the perfect cool sunglasses, there are chic beaded dresses and a european feel to the sportswear. I have shopped all around the world and Raquel has an eye! I can't say enough about Rik Rak.  First of all it is a very nice place with many options.  You can go shopping, have a meal, or simply get your hair done by the best hairstylist in Miami.  My favorite is getting my hair done by Damian.  He is very  talented.  He gives you good ideas.  He doesn't go crazy cutting.  He strives to make his clients feel good, happy and beautiful. Go see Eran Edri. I am, a difficult hair client. And as a native New Yorker I didn't think I could find the quality I'm used to, here in Miami. After now four sessions with Eran (he also now colors and cuts both my sisters hair), I would legit travel from New York to see him. I've been going to Rik Rak Salon for ten years now. I've worked with all the stylists, manicurists and aestheticians and have never left unhappy. They're all top-trained professionals who listen to their clients and deliver the best services. I usually order a glass of Pinot Grigio and the Mediterranean salad at the bar while getting my services done. YES, there's a bar in the salon, along with a high-fashion boutique. I mean, who doesn't want to shop with a glass of wine in their hand while waiting for their color to set? It's a one-stop shop and every woman's dream come true. So this review is from a non-local and I judged the experience against my overall pedi experiences.  I'm not sure what is considered normal and average in Miami but my assessment is that this place is far, far below average, especially for the price paid!  The pros: the lady was very nice and salon music was nice.  And that's the end of the pros.  The long list of cons: the "signature" pedi is really basic.  It started with an awkward bucket to dip my feet while I sat awkwardly.  The poor lady was hunched over in a weird way.  No massage, no exfoliant, just basic cut/cuticle/quick buff/color change.  Maybe this is normal in Miami but for $45, I'd expect at least a pretense of massage!  Also they don't wash you feet after dipping it into water.Overall this place seemed better for hair styling and mani but not set up for pedi! I really wanted to like this place. Was so excited to finally get a full highlight and cut. Firstly, another client went over their time so they called twice to push back my appointment by an hour and a half. Fortunately, I had left the afternoon free so I was able to still go. My stylist, Damian, just totally missed the mark on both my color and style, despite me showing him multiple pictures of what I wanted. I have medium brown hair and have gotten highlights many times before. He had to add in more highlight, use a corrective toner, and wash my hair 4 times. I was nervous when he told me he had to "fix" something with my color. Rightfully so. The bottom half of my hair is a brassy orange that I will have to go and have another salon correct tomorrow. To add insult to injury, they were going to charge me $75 for this toner that wouldn't be needed if he hadn't messed up in the first place.The salon did the right thing by giving me discounted service overall (20%) off and by reducing the toner charge to $45. I found Rik Rak salon because I had been getting my haircut done by one of their stylists, Eran, for about 6 years in New York. After he moved to Miami I had to try to find another stylist to live up to his technique and I just could not succeed. It's hard to trust someone with color especially since I never know what I want. Thankfully Eran will always understand whatever I'm trying to get across whether I ask him to do baliage, ombré, or highlights he's always done an amazing job. I moved to California and still have not found a more trusting and talented stylist as Eran. Finally he took the time to connect with me and during my holiday in Miami I was able to get my haircut done with him. I honestly would recommend him to any one with any hair style. Eran splits his time between Manhattan and Miami and my hair has never looked better.Also, I've discovered Taína for eyelashes , which has been an unbelievable time saver in my makeup routine. Not only is she an amazing aesthetician, she's a wonderful person. The salon is a haven from the stressors of everyday life. Rik Rak is a must go to salon in Miami!!! Their entire team are always friendly and happy. At Rik Rak, you will find a boutique, sunglasses, bar and full service salon. Betty V. is an expert at doing hair (color, cut, highlights, keratin...) she does it all. Taina not only does the best facial ever, she also does a plethora of other services like eyelash extentions. When it comes to manicures they really know what they are doing. The bar is stocked with delicious food and the best wines in town. Its in the heart of Brickell and has wonderful convenient hours. May favorite day is Thursday, as I can pick out my favorite weekend outfit and jewelry, all while get my hair, skin and nails taken care of while I enjoy a glass of wine and Mediterranean salad.  Great start to any weekend. This salon is the essence of Miami culture with a pampering twist. The salon is huge. They have a boutique, wine/coffee bar, facial room, color room, and then the salon! You can literally spend the entire day there with a group of girls enjoying a pampering day. The salon isn't cheap, but the results are amazing. I originally booked a blow dry, but hen decided to get a hair cut. They assigned me Vilma. She is amazing!!! I was hesitant because I get my hair done in New York, but I loved my hair! She listened to me and didn't cut my hair off. She also gave me some great styling tips so I can replicate my hair at home. Loved her! Recommend her if you come in.
