I've got some issues with Elle's Beauty Bar. While you may be drawn in by their beautiful studio and friendly staff, beware! Danger lies ahead. It only got worse once my wife had a few appointments with them and experienced their high quality work, attention to detail, and nice extra touches with the complimentary beverages. How am I supposed to take care of the little one and the rest of life when she just wants to be hanging out with Elle and the girls?! They either need to start a daycare or we'll need to call in some extra grandparents to help with the babysitting since my wife seems to prefer being pampered in luxury rather than baby drool and poopy diapers. I came to Miami for vacation. I had my nails done where I'm from and the job was terrible. I noticed zarina's beauty bar because I'm staying at the hotel next door. Two of my nails came off and one was in the verge of doing the same. Although the salon is appointment only she still worked with me. She did an amazing job and was very precise and took her time. I came in yesterday for a mani pedi before traveling back home. While the staff is very friendly and attentive, the girl who did my nails did not do the best job after I spent over two hours here.My appointment was made for a 12:00pm shellac manicure and regular pedicure. I originally tried to use a Groupon but was told they'd honor the Groupon price ($39), so I was glad I didn't have to bother with that. I explained that upon arrival. The girl doing my nails was nice and kept a great conversation, so maybe that's why I wasn't as demanding ... perhaps that was my fault, but that still doesn't excuse the end result.The place is clean and it's by appointment only, so keep that in mind if you're interested in going.My pedicure alone took about an hour and a half. I get doing things the right way, but it was a regular pedicure and my toes were not bad. The pedicure didn't even reflect the time spent.I didn't even walk away with the shellac manicure I wanted (though that was a bit beyond their control, since the lamp gave out and didn't dry my nails as it was supposed to). I was already late and had lost almost three hours on a mani pedi! I was over it, so another lady quickly removed the damaged manicure and tried to help. She and another lady offered to fix my manicure at a quick pace, and I would have gladly let them if I hadn't already been there so long. They were super sweet trying to amend the situation, making me a little less pissed at all the time wasted.Because of all this, I was only going to be charged for a regular manicure and regular pedicure, and the total was $57! I asked if it was including gratuity, and it wasn't, so I knew something was off there. I had to explain my situation again, so the $39 price was honored. Still pricey for everything I had gone through. I still tipped well and all, but I was annoyed at everything at this point. Once I left, I was able to really look at the job ... my nails weren't even left in a regular manicured condition. I know they had to quickly peel off the manicure, but the cuticles and overall nail shape should've obviously been fine even through all of that. My pedicure still ended up having some residual paint from the pedicure she had JUST removed. I was able to remove it once I got home, so I didn't see why she didn't take care of that after she glanced at it so many times.I believe that, if I would've had someone else do the job, I would've had very different results ... however, I don't think this justifies my experience. I don't think it's fair to place my experience as a typical example, since it all could've been so different. This place is a Gem in sobe super dope spot with real professional nail techs. The owner Zarina saw my desperation for a pedicure and gladly welcomed me in last min. They are normally an apt only salon but she saw my begging eyes! lol turned my peasant feet into princess feet again. She is so amazing I'm so happy I found it by chance. I love coming to Zarina's! I've gotten shellac mani and traditional pedicure there multiple times and have always been very happy with the service! Her salon is consistently clean, they scrub each pedicure basin before and after pedicures and ALWAYS use fresh new tools and gloves. Her salon has a great atmosphere that matches the South Beach energy. Her staff is very friendly and kind and are very professional. I appreciate the fact that she and her staff speak BOTH English and Spanish as not every tourist who comes to town speaks English. She does a great job communicating with her staff and always has a great upbeat attitude! I have never seen a salon owner quite as hardworking as Zarina. Really bad, I bought a Groupon for shellac and pedi! When I called the first thing the owner told me is that 20% mandatory tip was included, since when gratuity is mandatory????? Really unprofessional and uncomfortable! I went there 16 min later and I had to wait another 30 min, there were just two clients there! Nobody beside the owner speaks English! My lady did not do a good job, it was actually horrible, the nail polish was super old and my pedicure was horrendous, so I asked her to re do it and she gave me attitude, can u believe that??? My girlfriend was all cut and bleeding from both mani and pedi! A disaster! Then I choose a clear color for shellac, there was no way she could fuck it up! Well, she did! 2 days after my shellac is peeling off! I went there at 1.16 and left at 4 pm! I left her the 30% that was totally not deserved! Love this place! Conveniently located for the south of fifth locals or tourists staying in south beach. I live sofi and its hard to find a good salon....walked one more block and I found it!The place is super clean.The ladies working are friendly and professional.The owner is energetic and really cares about her salon. Plus, she has done my nails and hair which also shows her devotion to her business. The other ladies who work here are very nice too. She is so sweet and accommodating. First thing I noticed about this place when walking in was the cleanliness. Which, personally, is of the utmost importance when it comes to anything beauty related. -CONS-Warning: She will waste your time. Probably will tell you to reschedule when you arrive with an appointment AND not genuinely apologetic. I WITNESSED THIS.-The most disrespectful customer service I have ever experienced.-Outrageously DISORGANIZED new owner waisted a TOTAL OF 4 customers time, including myself within just the hour I was there. -She seems like a chicken running around with her head cut off. She does not have anyone working at the front desk. To put it simple she was painting nails and attending to customers walking in. Her organization and professionalism is awful. Lack of communication between this owner and the nail technicians. It's just a mess to put it simplex - ONE PRO--The nail technicians seemed very kind. However, it was evident the lack of communication/understanding between the owner and technicians. They all seemed very flustered and not cared for. They only spoke Spanish and the owner did not. -OVERALL REVIEW- From what I am sensing, the owner is trying to get as many customers in as possible and has no time management skills whatsoever.  I arrived to my appointment 30 minutes early. I parked along the street and did not pay the meter. If I were to receive a ticket it would probably be the same cost as parking. Very expensive. I believe there are parking garages with high rates in that area as well.I was greeted by the manager. When I told her I had an appointment, she said "oh well I have 3 girls coming in 15 minutes so will just start on your nails right away." I thought ok...1 minute after she said this, 3 girls walked in for their appointment. Mind you there were 3 technicians and at that time one was not even near being done and the other two were just finishing. The owner proceeded to give me the worst attitude. She basically said "well these three girls are here so your just gonna have to wait.." she was very rude when she said this. And I told her that's fine but if I have to wait longer than my appointment time I am going to be upset. One of the 3 girls, had waited about 45 minutes while her friends were getting their nails done. I was shocked. THEN my draw dropped when two women walked in for an appointment a few minutes before my own.Who books 6 appointments with 3 technicians around the same time???She told the two women that she could not take them. They seemed very nice and told her a day to reschedule, but if it was me I would have been PISSED. One of the 3 girls got her nails done when I was almost done with my own. Her friends had left at this point.So the rest of my appointment seemed like I  was in an SNL SKIT. I will not say what was being said and done but I will say that majority of women go to the salon to relax. Not to feel like they are in a girls gone wild episode.
