The best part is the modern look and cleanliness of the salon. But I go the the salon for the salon experience. Today there was no chair that had a massage remote. The water was warm, even though I asked for the hottest setting. No jets are used in the foot bath because they line the tub with plastic for cleanliness, but then they cant turn on jets. They dont offer wine, but do offer water and tea. The customer service was ok, i was just disappointed that the chair massage was not an option and the water wasnt hot :(... awe man the leg massage lasted 2 minutes. Very dissappointed. The lady just argued with me when i asked the manager for a longer leg massage at no extra cost since i had no chair massage option. Today was my second time coming to nailhouse. The first time I came, 2 ladies did my nails and did a great job. However, I tried the dip powder for the first time and it only lasted 6 days. I paid a lot of money and they didn't last the way she said they would. Today however I came to do a gel manicure and pedicure with chrome. They didn't have the specific color that I wanted so they had to mix the chrome powders. The gentlemen doing my nails soaked off the gel I already had then proceeded to do my pedicure. First of all, the pedicure was mediocre. He didn't use a hot towel, massage my feet and didn't even put lotion on me. I usually go to Venetian in midtown so I had pretty high expectations coming into nailhouse. Second of all, I came in specifically saying that I wanted yellow chrome. I'm on my phone not paying much attention but when I look down, my toes are BLACK.  I've done chrome and gel before so I have a pretty good idea of what they have to do. As to why my base coat was black, is beyond me. But I didn't say anything because like I said before, they didn't have color I specifically wanted so they had to mix the chrome powders. I figured he did black because it would blend better with the chrome but I was WRONG. He put the chrome on and it was green. He tried 3 different chromes and they all turned out different shades of green. So I got annoyed and said never mind the chrome, I just want a regular yellow gel color. So he shows me one shade of yellow. I didn't like it so he gave me the gel palette. The palette did not have a single shade of yellow. So I got annoyed and told him to stop the entire service. As I was checking out, I had to pay $45!!!! $10 to soak off the gel on my hands and $10 to soak off the gel on my feet. Fine. But then an additional $25 for my pedicure. I think that's absurd. $45 and I wasn't satisfied with any part of the service. The man at the front desk didn't seem to know what to say or do in the situation. They started speaking in another language then told me I had to pay $45. The staff were not accommodating nor apologetic at all. I will NEVER go back again. I'm sticking to Venetian only! Read Less

I moved to Miami from New York two years ago. When you moved and you don't know anyone it's difficult to find a place to do your nails and hair... but I found this place Nails House by the Ocean and I love it..., amazing people, great ambiance, friendly staff and the service was very good and it's close to my house... I do my nails with Sonny and my Hair with Gigi both of them are excellent in their jobs. I was in town on vacation and my nails needed a fill bad so I was told to go here. The nail technician was very nice but she did my nails very quickly. The next day two of my nails fell off. When I called the salon to complain and ask to get them repaired I was told maybe I didn't go to this salon.. Moral of the story: you get what you pay for. I am not from the area and seeked out Yelp to help me find a nail salon. I got a gel mani and regular pedi. The pedi girl was a bit rough but was much gentler once I told her of my discomfort. Got my nails done for $35 on March 28th 2017 two days later they started coming out so I called and they said they will fix it for free but I wasn't in town so the following week on April 5th 2017 I paid $30 for my nails by Saturday the 8th of April nails started coming off so today April 13th 2017 I called and a woman said she would fix it come around 11:30 am which I did, when I got there they asked me who did my nails and one lady said "usually when the nails come off its smooth but when it's being forced then it's rough". Like do I look stupid I know that like why in the hell would I spend a whole $35 then another $30 in two weeks which makes $65 and mess up my own nails then they told me they would fix it but I would have to pay $20 for it like that is so unprofessional and stupid because I am a customer for three months and this actuation happened to me twice in one week or less so why would I pay $20 just to get my nails done after I just spent $30 and the week before the $35 that is that is extremely and beyond wrong that's not how you do customer service I didn't even do my nails I walked out . You won't be seeing me step foot in this nail salon again because for one prices went up I can get my nails down on 7th ave for $18-$20 and they will last me almost a month. Let's start off by saying this place ruined my life. I went for a Trim and Gigi COMPLETELY botched my hair! I now have lopsided hair! And to top it off ITS SO SHORT MY I TOLD HER TO KEEP IT LONG AND ITS SO HORRIBLE I CAN BARELY LOOK IN THE MIRROR I ABSOLUTELY CANT GO OUTSIDE MY LIFE IS COMPLETELY RUINED. the nail salon does not sterilize they're tools properly they just spray them with alcohol.I doubt any of these people are licensed because they are defiantly not professional.I probably have aids now from this place AVOID THIS PLACE! Recently under new management, Nailhouse by the Ocean continues to evolve yet consistently provides excellent service.Everyone I've encountered here has always been friendly & competent but Rose is fantastic. Her warm persona and attention to detail make for an excellent mani / pedi (that actually lasts!). They may not have the fanciest massage chairs in the neighborhood but the actual human massage I've received here have always been notably better. I made an appointment to try this place and the lady who did my nails was kinda unfriendly and really slow... took almost 2 hours and a half GEL NAILS last 2 weeks in good condition. Sunny is the best‼‼my boyfriend and I just came back from Turks&Caicos and needed our manicure & pedicure and one of my curlic nail was damage from me hurting it abasing rock. It hurt so bad, and sunny took is sweet time and fix my nails by taking off every single one of them and bringing my my real nails back to life I was so surprised that he was able to satisfied me and not hurt my broken nail. Not impressed at ALL. HONESTLY you pay for the hype of being close to south beach. As someone who get their nails regularly done this place is a complete disappointment. The guy that did my nails (don't remember his name) acted like he knew how to do gel nails,but sucked. The gel polish went up to my cuticles and in some areas above my cuticles. Very poor and messy job. He tried to act like he knows what he doing and correcting his mistakes as he goes but he really doesn't. He even compliments himself of his job when he is finish. So overrated, maybe certain techs know what they are doing, but this guy was horrible. My gel nails looked like I painted them (with my left hand). This is such a nice spot! People are friendly got a bomb pedicure and manicure done. I got a gel refill w white nails. A guy named Son did them for me, he was very sweet very nice and he did a superb job on my nails. The shop is very nice also everyone is friendly. I highly recommend this place and it's price savvy. I used to come to Nailhouse years ago all the time to get my nails done by two Eastern European sisters who worked there but eventually stopped going as it was such a far drive. Yesterday I happened to be in the neighborhood and came in for a walk in. I was so impressed by the quality of the manicure and pedicure I received from Leidys, who was also incredibly sweet and welcoming...and patient with my powder gel removal that seemed like it would never come off! All of the staff seemed cheerful and my friends who came with me were equally happy with their services. I got the impression that the owner was very involved and helpful. Other than the location being a bit inconvenient for me personally, my one complaint might be that $39 for a standard mani-pedi on a Tuesday seems a bit high for a salon of this nature. I would definitely go back and pay the same given the quality job done but at this price I met expect slightly more upscale touches. The salon feels clean but definitely standard without any major upgrades. However, if you are looking for a solid mani/pedi with delightful employees then this is a fantastic choice! Read Less

I went here weekly for manicures and pedicures and the staff was always friendly and attentive.  I bite my nails, but they never were mean about it, and always tried to help me, and actually my nails improved over time, until I was able to keep my natural nails long and healthy.If you ask for the deluxe pedicure they give you a super massage on your legs and feet which is so awesome, because a lot of places don't bother with that and we all know, that's what you get a pedicure for, really.Everything there is very clean.  They wash the tubs after every person, and I noticed they recirculate the anti-fungal soap through the pumps as well, so you can be sure its really clean.They offer everything you might want for your nails, also massage, hair and waxing, but I only ever got my nails done so can't really review the other services.It's just overall a really great place.  I always felt welcome and my nails always looked great.  Oh and the prices are excellent!Thanks Nail House! I truly don't know where the other reviewer's experience came from....maybe the tech she had has come & gone since her experience (but the owner has since done my mani; he was great & didn't make me feel dismissed at all). I have been to this establishment several times, as I used to live in the neighborhood, & every treatment I've personally had has been positive. The pedis are great; the techs (& I've had a few) are very thorough, the chairs are comfortable & pampering, the prices are good, everything is clean, & they do everything to industry standards (nothing that blatantly breaks any laws is going on here). I also got a mani & it was very good too. I didn't have any trouble with pesky hangnails a few days like I've had happen at other places. The only problem I've had here (& it wasn't even first-hand) was when I went with a girlfriend of mine. She got a full set of acrylics & the shape was really bad. They stayed on & neither of us ever got fungus from our treatments (& to be honest shape is a matter of preference & she should have spoken up) but...she wasn't happy with the shape. While it seemed good to be able to go to a walk ins welcome nail spa on Miami Beach, the adversities clearly out weighed the positives. Where should I begin? First and foremost, do not try to make an appointment, these will only be delayed by the other walk in appointments. You are then made to wait based on someone else's lack of preparation. Second, you have to go into this establishment knowing exactly what you want and what you are willing to spend. That is, no matter what you book for or ask for they contstanly try to upsell you and/or nickel and dime your every request. Third, the nail techinicians range in what they can do. That is, if you need a special repair or techinque done the tech will stop mid way through your service and make you wait for the owner (who is obviously the only one who can assist). Then he will claim that your nails and or issues were not caused by them (which they were as I was there 2 weeks prior) and simply state, ' I can't help you"" He actually allowed me to leave without finishing my service!!! I was shocked! In today's economy how dare someone turn away business? Finally, nail fungus was a huge concern for me. I can promise all of you that you can catch a nail fungus from this establishement. While the place appears clean, their techniques and products do not. You will get a nail fungus from this place! I do not typically write reviews, in fact this is my very first. I felt that obliged to because of the lack of service and horrible attitude that the staff portray.
