I am a 49 year old man, and stopped by on Sunday April 1 to get a pedicure. There were only men working in the establishment, and i was informed that no one was able to perform a pedicure. I thought that maybe it was because the men working were only able to do manicures for some strange reason. I went back the next day and mentioned to the female owner that i had been there the day prior, but no one was able to do a pedicure on me. The female ow we then said she would not allow a male nail tech to perform a pedicure on another male, because it’s just “weird” to have a male perform a pedicure on another male. I sat there stunned, realizing the owner clearly feels it’s acceptable to discriminate against me, thus forcing me to come back in the next day to have the procedure performed by a female nail tech. I drive 30 minutes to get my nails done consistently and pass several shops in between. I stumbled upon The Nail Bar and Spa last year when my nails were broken to the nail bed from wearing gel polish. I was quickly served a glass of wine and introduced to SNS (Signature Nail System) along with a variety of colors (over 300). My nails have been completely transformed. I had to cut them on my next visit because they had grown so much. My nails are HEALTHY and I get tons of compliments. Khem (Kym) is the absolute best and makes sure that the staff is well educated and proficient. Excellent! Staff is friendly, quick,  quality work. They were very busy when I walked in for a pedi and SNS nails, I had to wait maybe 2 mins and they got started. Hour and a half later I got a beautiful voesh* pedi (medium packeage), and SNS french manicure. Fiar prices too. Read Less

I really didn't want to post anything , because everyone at this salon was so nice , but , I asked for a basic pedicure and my eyebrows waxed . The lady that did my pedicure didn't even scrub the bottom of my feet , and burned my legs and toes with the hot towel . The lady that did my eyebrows seemed rush , and I'm not sure if it's because I'm used to getting my eyebrows done somewhere else , but she just ripped the paper off , did not clean off the area so I was left with wax on my right eyebrow . they are also uneven so I will still have to go to a salon to get them fixed properly . No after cooling lotion for the redness either . This is the third time I've been to the salon and I just though I had bad luck with who was helping me . You never know what you are going to get out of a nail salon until you walk in.. but I really like the idea behind the "nail bar."  Their layout and set up is really cool, it's very updated, clean and unique. The nail tech that took care of me was really nice, I got a manicure and a pedicure and was in with my mom who received a pedicure. I will say, it was a busy time, but I have had many pedicures and this one was pretty short. She didn't spend a ton of time on my feet, but it turned out really well anyway - next time i'll go for the deluxe instead of the basic and maybe the massage will be longer (that's my favorite part!). They have a new style that's like acrylic but more of a powder that is supposed to stay on your nails for much longer than the average nail polish - and since I cant seem to keep polish on my nails for more than a few days, I opted for that on my hands. I'll say, it lasted about 2.5 weeks, which is really good for how rough I am on my hands. I'd recommend this place for manicure and pedicure! I cant speak for much more than that, but I did have a pretty lengthy conversation about the eye lash extensions they offer, seems to be a bit cheaper than what I've seen out there - but I've never had that procedure done. I was in the area today and needed a pedicure, so I figured I would try out a different nail place than my usual spot.I walked in and was pleasantly surprised with the decor and modern updates to the salon. It was pretty busy, but they were able to get me in right away.I selected my polish and headed back to the pedicure chairs. The man doing my pedicure pointed at a laminated menu and asked me what I wanted. I let him know that I wanted the basic pedicure, and he immediately tried to up-sell me on a deluxe package. I politely declined the offer. He proceeded to try to up-sell me 4 different times during my pedicure to the point where it was borderline harassment. I was here to relax, and this was not relaxing.I overheard another nail tech doing the same thing to a girl here with her mom, and even offered to go ask her mom if she could get the deluxe for her. I was blown away by the audacity of the staff here.Aside from being in a sales presentation for the entirety of my service, the pedicure itself was decent. The massage was good but on the shorter side. Since I popped in during lunch, I didn't come prepared with sandals. He seemed pretty annoyed when he had to walk to the back to grab the little foam ones for me.I think I'll be sticking with my usual nail salon in the future. Read Less

Had a fill 4 days before I came here for a color change. Clearly did not need a fill nor did I ask for one but somehow got one and was charged for it. Ruined the shape of my nails that I already had and made them about 3x thicker than they were originally. Definitely won't be back. Colors pretty though. Read Less

Although it wasn't the most visible from the main street view, it's conveniently in a plaza sandwiched between Firehouse subs and Jeremiah's gelati. It was recommended by my roommate to check out and try their SNS or "healthy nail." Although time was underestimated for completion, the team accommodated and made it happen to where one guy was doing one hand and the other guy working on the other hand. I really loved the high top rectangular bar that gives you a happy hour feel while getting your nails pampered with a complimentary refreshment (water or red/white wine). A lot of regulars came in and out and were greeted by name! Very impressed to know that even tho it was a happening new nail salon, they already had the neighborhood comradery. Haven't done SNS or healthy nail in a while, but there were more than your share of color options and does require less steps than it would to do acrylic with gel combination. It's $5 more than gel nail alone, but if you're used to doing the combination it's worth a try and the same amount if not less. Read Less

The owner, Khem and tech, Ana treated us like princesses and even offered us a complementary glass of wine. We plan to make this a regular outing and even bring some others from our office with us. I always come here when I'm home.  Convenient,  clean and friendly.  The choices of the SNS powders are phenomenal.  My pedicure was perfection and the nail tech made sure my feet looked and felt great. My pedicure was excellent. I have acrylic nails and they suggested SNS. Okay, I am game for new things. My tech bounced from me to other clients. With all the SNS colors they could not match what I wanted in the gel selection. The SNS is okay. No hand massage and even after asking my cuticles were not tended to well. I think they forget quality when they get busy. A client came in with a child so relax time was over. Why do people with children take over a salon when they come in talking loud and constantly. Decent nail salon for the price; however, I was disappointed in my SNS manicure. They said with SNS you can't get a traditional manicure but you can get a dry manicure after. I expressed that as long as my cuticles were cleaned up nicely and pushed back off my nails that would be fine. But they weren't pushed back and were only lightly trimmed after the SNS powder was applied. I now have SNS over my cuticles that are still on my nails and it's driving me crazy!! Read Less

I initially went to The Nail Bar because of it's close proximity to work. The space is clean and nice. The pedicure chairs are angled so it is tough to have a conversation if you go with someone else. I felt that they were understaffed and that I wasn't given the amount of time I should have been. There was another lady there who complained a couple times about the lack of time she was given and that there was a hair in her polish. I made an appointment for my husband and I to get mani/pedis. We were taken back as soon as we arrived. When it came time to get my manicure, I requested the SNS Dip which lasts longer and is less damaging than the gel and felt like it was an inconvenience. Came here with my bestfriend and her sister for our appointment at 6.  They were on time, and took us in immediately.  We 3 had our manicure and pedicure done here and they did an awesome job!  The owner Kim was very nice and gave us a warm greeting and offered us wine while getting our nails done.  I mean that right there is a bonus for me! Who wouldn't want to sip on wine while having your nails done.Trung did the SNS nails for me and did an awesome job! It was cool watching the process since I don't ever get my nails done, yet alone have acrylic nails done as well.  He also gave me my pedicure and did awesome as well and gave a good leg massage.Place is clean and I would definitely recommend having your nails done here! I am not one to give a bad review just for the heck of it, but when it has to do with my health and wellbeing, it's necessary. I came to this salon for the first time on a Wednesday evening after work about 2 weeks ago.  I chose a SNS color and the tech who did my nails, Khem, (who I was told is the owner) explained to me that my acrylics that I already had on needed to be soaked off. I told her ok, that's fine. So before she soaked my nails, she started to clip off my acrylics with a big nail clipper and began to cut the entire nail in one big clip. I can't explain how badly this hurt. I told her it hurt but she continued to clip the rest off . After the rest of my acrylic nails soaked off she began the process of putting the new nails on, applying the sns powder and all that good stuff. All was well until the part when she started to shape/file my nails. It was a busy night at the salon and I understand she was trying to hurry..but I guess she was not paying attention and she sliced my finger with the file. It immediately started to bleed and she apologized and put some pressure and a tissue over it and some blue liquid that kind of glued the cut shut. She asked if I was ok and I told her yes.  She finished my nails and they looked good. The next few days my finger seemed ok, until The following Saturday I woke up to an extremely swollen and painful finger. The cut was now dark red from the dried blood inside of my finger and I could see how deep the cut was. I started to soak it in warm water, and rushed to buy neosporin and hydrogen peroxide. I have gotten my finger cut while getting my nails done before, but it had never been this bad. The following Sunday, I called the salon, asking to speak to Khem to tell her about my infection to see if there was anything that could be done. The girl who answered the telephone told me Khem was out of town. I left my name and telephone number and asked her to please have Khem call me as soon as she can. I called back a few times and never received a call back. I ended up going to the walk in clinic and got put on antibiotics in fear of the infection getting worse. I'm writing this review not because I am bitter that I got cut, I am upset at the lack of care and compassion this salon has shown for the health and well being of their paying customers. Worst nail experience ever!! They treated my manicure/pedicure like I was on an assembly line. One man removed my polish while another did my pedicure. The man doing the pedicure asked if I would pay an extra $5 to remove calluses which I agreed to, but didn't notice any difference in my feet afterwards. A third man applied a powdered gel. None of these men spoke English nor did they understand anything I said to them. I wanted a toenail polish that matched the nail color with no sparkles. My toenails look red...the nails on one of my hands are hot pink with sparkles and on the other a deep plum toned pink with sparkles. My nails look like ugly clown nails. I have had a "mood" polish in the past which is what this was called, but never have I had such a mismatch. This mood polish and the total bad experience I had at this salon truly changed my personal mood from happy to angry. I would not recommend the Nail Bar to anyone! Read Less

I had a horrible experience. I made an appointment for eyebrows at 330pm. I Drove 45 minute's from Clement, I made an appointment with the owner to do my eyebrows, when I got there they assigned another tech. Needless to say the messed up so badly. I'm crying and my birthdas tonight. And all the owner can do is be rude and refuse to give me service after I made an appointment. She yelled at me across the room saying that the girl assigned to do my eyebrows has been doing them for year's. I don't recommend. Lack of costumer service in every way. She's. I just moved to Maitland and needed a new nail salon and found it after walking by.  The rave reviews and seeing how fabulous it looked inside, sold me.  I'm so glad I found this place! I went in and tried the new SNS powder and will never go back to gel nails ever again. I showed them a pic of the design I wanted on my ring fingers and they came out even better than I imagined. Kim and her staff have exceeded my expectations. I have been going to get my nails done for over two years. Trying lots of friend recommendations and never really understanding that the best was out there, I just had not found it. I will make sure I tell everyone that has a pair of ears where they need to go to get their nails done. I've been to plenty of nail salons and this place focuses on nail care, not just slapping paint on and sending you on your way. Always call for an appt, they do SNS which is healthier for your nails and beautiful. I will never get acrylic again, to actually have nails that look like your own and you can scratch an itch. Mani and deluxe pedicure for $45 includes massage or $35 for the basic. Newer place (opened 10 months ago) so everything is new and clean. You get a glass of wine while your getting services done. While your getting a pedicure You sit in a deluxe chair with massage buttons. The nail polish is very organized and all like colors are together. Lots of colors to choose from. Also they have options for gel or powder nails for an extra cost. They also do threading $15 and permanent tattoo eyebrows. Customer service was excellent. I've found my go-to nail salon! I was referred here by one of my co-workers because I was telling her of my bad experiences with nail salons. She described the Nail Bar like a regular bar, except getting your nails done! But wait... they give you complimentary drinks too, including wine! My kind of place! Everyone there is super nice and fun to talk to. They do a new type of nail coloring, called SNS. It is healthy for your nails, and it does not harm your nails like acrylics too. It is Long lasting and more durable than gel nails. They dip your nails into a powder, shake the access of it off, and repeat that several times in between layers of a SNS setting coat. The first time I got it done, there was a bit of dust/dirt underneath the layers. But the second time that I went, my nails came out perfectly. The second time that I went was the most important- it was my wedding day nails!.Overall, this place is great. I will make the long drive out here for great service and the SNS nails! I found this place last minute after a very disappointing scheduling mishap with my usual salon. Kim was super friendly on the phone and got me in right away. The salon is super clean and very relaxing. I love the way it's set up. All the staff was very nice and attentive.
