I recently visited after having a bad experience with another salon. I have a busy schedule so I LOVE that Andrea is efficient yet professional while providing excellent quality. She gets my roots better than anyone I’ve been to in the last 15 years, creates the perfect color and has me in and out. I laughed after reading another review that stated Andrea/the salon was expensive; like Andrea and I talked about today, you get what you pay for and I can speak first hand. Every time, I am in and out between one to two hours pending the service I need and it’s because she has an assistant that helps with things like rinsing my hair that does not make a difference to the overall quality I receive when I leave (this saves me at least an hour at the salon). Hannah Simpson is an excellent stylist. I’m very picky about my straight & short hair because every errant cut shows. I live in Atlanta, but come to Tampa regularly. I love Andrea and Carly. They are such a great team and are very professional. Everybody there was. They were able to work out a last minute appointment for me. I was very comfortable and at ease the entire process and it was my first time here. I will say that it is a high end salon so expect high end pricing but just like with anything else you get what you pay for and in this case it is worth it! My first experience with Andrea at Element salon was after my 4 year old daughter hair was so tangled I thought I would have to cut it. Andrea came recommended and did an amazing job of fixing her hair without having to cut it off. I then went to see her for color which I have never done any color before. One of my favorite salons in the US, and I have been to a lot - from living in different areas and traveling. Alex is super sweet, friendly, patient, and great at hair. I have long hair that likes to tangle and she is gentle with my hair. All of the girls here are nice and fashionable, and I am consistently impressed with their work that I see posted online and when I am in the salon looking at other patrons. Every time I come in, the salon is very clean, spotless. I can tell cleanliness really matters to them. Also like the overall design of salon, colors, floors, etcAll of the girls that work the front desk are very nice and do a great job. Thank you for always offering me a drink when I come in, and asking me about my experience that day. I love the chairs used while being styled and the washing bowels, both very comfortable, unlike other salons that choose the "trendy" choice of chairs over the actually good for your back-shoulders-neck choice. So nice being able to leave the salon looking good, feeling good and not with an aching body :) Also like that they have Redken AND Pureology products. This is the salon to go to if you live in Land O Lakes, Lutz, Wesley Chapel, Odessa, etc. I had tried a few other places near by before and Element 54 is heads and shoulders above the rest. Very disappointed in my experience here. Definetly not the place to go for a color specialist. As per the owner, they do not give refunds. So, you have to go from highlights to solid color to fix the mistakes rather than going to another salon unless you want to have to pay twice. My advice is to find an actual color specialist. Had terrible experience at this salon. Was completely shocked at how much my daughter was charged for a partial highlight. She had been going to a stylist for years but she was getting out of the business so we needed to find another stylist. Her last stylist charged 110.00 for a partial highlight. When we arrived and Andrea Toney called my daughter back Andrea was so rude. She had zero personality and was very rude to me as I was trying to talk to her with my daughter...,. She acted like I was not even there....funny because I was the one paying for the service. So all my daughter wanted was Partial highlights no haircut or any other service. This service took forever. She also had two assistants doing everything for her. I could not believe how long it took her to do a partial highlight. It seemed like she was mixing and applying goofy things to do a simple highlight. So that was not even that worst. The worst was when we went to the counter to pay the bill was $248.00 for a Partial Highlight. We were robbed. That is robbing the customer. You do not work at NYC. You work in Land O Lakes/Lutz. My daughter has since found another stylist in Wesley Chapel that charged 110.00 for the same procedure and it was quick and easy. I saw Alex on Tuesday for a wash, cut, and style. She really listened to what I was asking for and looked at my hair from several different angles deciding how to best cut my hair according to my texture, face shape, etc. I asked her to add layers to my wavy blonde hair so that it will look great and help my natural curls come out. Alex did fantastic in very little time, but also applied a toner to help relieve some of the brassieres caused by my water at home. I got very many compliments from my family and friends and have found a long term stylist that actually listens to what I want. Alex is already going to style my hair for an upcoming wedding and I'm very excited to show off her work. The salon is a very beautiful and clean place with happy clientele and employees. I had an appointment with Andrea last Saturday and it was one of the worst experiences at a hair salons I have had!  I have been to many salons (too many to count) in many different states.This place is too overpriced and I felt taken advantage of!  I had an appt. with Andrea after reading great reviews.  She was running 20 minutes late and didn't apologize or mention anything.  The pamphlet with their prices seemed reasonable and fair.  Please be aware that it states "starting price".  I had my grays covered, some highlights and a conditioning treatment.  I had never been to a salon where the dye burned my scalp this badly and I have been to many salons.  Also, while applying the dye, Andrea made a mess on my forehead and ears and didn't wipe it all off.  She was very unprofessional and sloppy!  The dye was very painful and my scalp was red as a tomato when Andrea rinsed the dye off!  I normally have my hair blow dried straight but decided not to have it done because of the horrible condition of my scalp. I also had hair trimmed 1 inch.  I received a SHOCK when I went to pay for these services!  The price reflected on the pamphlet were not even close to the price charged!  I wish Andrea  would have disclosed her prices before performing the services!! Unfortunately, I assumed that the price would be close to $200 or less as shown on the price list.  Even after all this, she charged me for the services OVER $300.  I mentioned my dissatisfaction to the receptionist and how upset I was about the whole experience and she stated that she would let Andrea know.  I have not been contacted by anyone from the salon and would not recommend this salon to anyone!!!   Andrea is not professional and her services are VERY OVERPRICED and not worth it!!  Go elsewhere because they don't really care about customer satisfaction!I also had a gel manicure with Carly.  Carly was very nice and pleasant!  However, the gel manicure chipped after 2 days and it normally lasts at least 2 weeks! Therefore,  I will not return to this salon.  I paid $38 for a gel manicure that didn't last more than 2 days!  My experience was very disappointing and overpriced!!! Read Less

First time I went here was to get an ombre done. I've never had my hair bicolored so I was very nervous  but the stylist who worked with me, Alex, kept reassuring me that it'll turn out beautiful. Given that I have no experience with colors when it comes to dying my hair I told her that I wanted something very natural and not too light and from there on out I trusted her and in the end my hair came out BEAUTIFUL!! Had a spiral perm done today with Andrea...perm was fine, problem was, I came in a couple of days earlier for a consult and explained I wanted a perm and a trim was given the price of $150-$200 depending on how many rods were used.  After completed she charged me $345 dollars.  $300 for the perm and $45 for the trim.  Almost double the quoted price is ridiculous not to mention $45 dollars for the trim after.  Been getting perms for over 30 yrs, never have I paid for the trimming of the ends after it before, it literally took her all of 5 mins to trim bottom and bangs and charged $45!  Don't like someone trying to seriously over charge me....won't be going back!!! I will have to disagree with the post below. My hair has never looked so healthy since I started going to Miss Alex! She has helped me in achieving my goal with growing my hair longer. Any time I tell Alex what I want to do, whether it comes to cut OR color, she always does exactly what I want and more! It's hard to find a friendly welcoming salon with ladies who will actually do what you would like, and not what they would prefer.
